Sorry to hear your brother is getting worse Jackie.
Don't the carers shave him or does he just prefer you to do it ?

Jackie, I am sorry truly I am ... have been there with my brother too. Even though he survives, he will never be the same. ((((hug))))

Daphne solved it, although Jackie was almost there,

He won;t let them do it Daphne he gets upset so I offered and he lets me do it. Seems to trust me for some reason. I don't actually shave him I just get it down the a stubble with my Trimmer. Looks a lot like Hugh Jackman style lol. A lot of the stars have a stubble now . It's better than a beard though Daphne as it gets too hot and he dribbles ( he can't swallow saliva hence the dribbling) so it is better for him if it is short

Daphne.
Yes but in the Demetia ward so they are locked in. We are allowed to take him out though. as long as we can cope with him. Up until today we didn;t have a problem. They do their best but not a lot they can do for him now. His Doctor gets back off holiday on Wednesday so we are going to see him. Ask if their is anyhting else we can do to make him more comfortable. He can't even converse with us now. The diesase has taken the use in his arms and hands so he can;t write on his board any more which is really hard for us as we know he wants to tell us things but he can't. Breaks your heart to see him like this at 57 years old

I am lucky, my brother is paraplegic now ... he does suffer confusion, can appear okay yet minutes later confusion settles in. There was a time when he was as your brother is now Jackie, heartbreaking isn't it, am always here if you need a hug, chat ... am sure we all are. xxx

Jackie I worked in nursing homes for a while,at least your brother has caring relatives who visit .You would be surprised how many residents never see a visitor unless it's a volunteer.

Its really peculiar although I have plenty of family here, It is always nice for someone you have never met to care so much. It means a lot to me and my sister as I tell her all about you. Not the naughty bits though and on how Dippy we both are at times rofl

OK enough of my problems for the night otherwise I will be going to bed all weepy.

I know Daphne I think there are 8 patients on Steves ward and only 2 get visitors. How sad is that. I go round them all and say hello and pass the time of day with them. They look so lost at times. I think that's why I hate Mondays I always come away feeling depressed.
