Hi Sandie

I'm prejudiced, I know, but if you're going to Newcastle, then give County Durham a go. It has so much to offer.

Hi Sandie. Gosh haven't been to Blackpool or Anglesey for years. Memories of both however. Well, last attempt at Sue's question before I head off. In the event I may be correct I'll leave one up.

Frank Sinatra sang when I was 17 it was a Very Good Year - which was recorded in 1966.

Try going north next time, Sandie. Take in Northumberland - you'll be amazed

Hi Jan~~

I did think of Frank Sinatra believe it or not, don't know about the song tho.
Sounds good will google it:)
The most northern I have been in GB was Blackpool on a course with work:)
We tend to go south, other than Anglesey where my b i l lives.
Lets see what Sue has to say☺☺

Hi Jan

Absolutely right. The S word shouldn't take too much guessing. I think it was "song" that was the original guess?

Hello me "old muckers"! Most definitely a Northern expression, methinks as 'tis well-known to me. Also "kiddo" as a Liverpool Lass I know calls me that!
Well, clutching at straws on Sue's clue (and a lousy guess, too!):

Frank Sinatra's song when I was 17 it was a Very Good Year - Won world recognition in 1966.

Hi Sandie

I've just looked up the derivation of "old mucker" - I know it means "old mate" but the derivation is apparently northern Irish. Not so surprising, as we had an influx of the Irish during the industrial revolution. So there you go - we live and we learn!

F S S W I was 17 it was a Very Good Year - W was R in 1966..

You should know me better than to think I'd have a clue about rugby. It's the beautiful game all the way up here in the land of the Mags.
