Having checked the 1939 image.....again!...the name Crowley is in upper case

However, as Geoffrey isn't responding, there is little point in pursuing this any further - especially as he is the son on whose behalf the original post was added in 2013.

The name Crowley wouldnt be added till after 1948 re-NHS and then hand written ,,,,so a lower case A icould be mistaken for lower case O,?--i

but even so. ,,nothing is showing in other places such as -US ,Scotland or Ireland,

Geoffrey has taken the 1909 Wiltshire birth of Rosie M Dibble and has a tree on Ancestry,,,,,with listing from electorals in and around Surrey ,.......so nothing more to find,

Not sure where ‘Crawley’ comes in……….Crowley is the name in green on 1939, and on BMD records posted as suggestions ONLY

Think the 1951 birth refers to marriage of Pamela Dibble and Eric Crowley 1951.

No Dibble birth or marriage in Scotland,
Perhaps there wasnt a marriage and just a use of surname...it happened then as it does now,

Looking at the 1939 image, there is no further info about when the name change was recorded, which one would normally expect to see.

No birth in 1911, either. Of course, she may not have been born in England/Wales

Since OP there is -1939 register & 1921 census,

Perhaps if Geoffrey can give more details that hes got on paper ,what job did Rose Dbble do,what living address did she give on the birth certificate,,

Rose is likely to have pssed away but Geoffrey could still get a family link.?
