Find Ancestors

William is listed in the 1881 census aged 33 and a Carter living in Accrington no other family information is known a friend of mine is interested in finding her ancestors, any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have found a William Pemberton, a Carter, born in Wigan in 1848(or 7) and living in Liverpool. A widower.

If the census that I quoted is the correct one, then this is the marriage for William:

this shows on Liverpool marriages as William age 28, a carter, living in Moorfields, father John, a horse keeper, and Catherine is age 20 with father William, also a carter. One of the witnesses looks to be Mary Pemberton.

Could you give us the name of her grandfather, with place and year of birth if known, just so we can try and confirm for you?

The two sisters, both on their 90s, tell me that William Joseph Pemberton born 1848 was their grandfather and give their thanks to one and all for their help.
