Lou Sorry about this but while you're looking up Hannah on 1871, could you look up Francis W Baber aged 3 born Shepton Mallet or Batcombe. Doesn't appear to have been home that day! Thanks again Debby

Debby This is the only Hannah of about the right age in 1871 but she's living in Wiltshire. If this is your girl, she's still alive in 1881 too by the look of it! Lou Thanks for looking but she's not the right one - that's really weird 'cos Sarah found her on her look up aged 82 and a widow living next door to my family in Batcombe. Do the sites sometimes throw a wobbly? Debby

Debby Give the details of the people she's living next to. It might be that her name is Hannah Baber on the census return but mistranscribed on the index

Dying to know who she is but bless her - listed as a pauper. Another coincidence maybe - there are 2 Stones living 2 doors down - Dinahs maiden name! Thing is the head of the family is a pauper as well! Might explain why I'm always skint!!! Thanks again Debby

Hi Lou Thanks for the emails! I'd appreciate you looking for Elizabeth Baxter or/and any of her children in 1891 please. She was born in 1844(most likely in Wales, but not 100% on that), and her husbands name was John. I'm expecting that she will be a widow at this time. She had 4 children at the time of the 1881 census: Elizabeth(known as Lizzy in later life:4yrs in 1881,bornWorcester) William (5 in 81,born Bangor,Flint) Thomas(6 in 81,born Birmingham) and John(8 in 81,born Birmingham). Elizabeth herself is nowhere to be found on the 1881 census, although she didn't die until 1906! In 1896 she was apparently working as a lady's maid at Albrighton Hall(Wolverhampton area?) Two of the children were staying with her brother Thomas Baxter in Trentham,Staffs and two with her parents Richard and Mary Pritchard in Bangor,Wales. Let me know if you think it's going to take too long to track Elizabeth down, I think the only hope will be if she is back with the kids again! Many thanks Heather

hi lou. could it be possible for you to look up a george RODDIS or RODDISS born rotherham 1822 on the 1871 census. possibly derby area married to an elizabeth.
