Linking married cousins

Hi folks! I've just found out that we have cousins who married. I didn't really want to have a duplicate record in the family tree but I can't see any way to factor in this woman who appears in two places on my tree. It's a woman called Marion who was the daughter of my great-great-great grandparents so she already popped up there. Latterly I found out she was also the first wife of a great-great uncle following a maternal line.

Any suggestions or do I just have her in two places? I hope that makes sense!!

GR's tree system cannot cope with such events

Use an offline FT program, then upload the gedcom

Or simply keep the info offline, using one of the many programs which can cope with the scenario you describe

I have a similar situation where my great uncle, whose wife dumped him in the First World war (the shameless wench) and he subsequently married the widow of his sisters brother in law.

I just put the widow in twice and it works fine for me. Seems to have worked out fine for Great Uncle George as well. :-)

GR have promised that facility in the near future.

Thanks for the advice folks :) I'll hide her in a box somewhere for now!! I have the tree in hard copy I just don't like loose ends on the online version!

In my case it seems like they HAVE solved it! I just looked in my tree for my Great Uncle, and he is shown with his first and second wives. When I clicked on his second wife previously she was isolated. Now, the tree recognises her and shows her first husband and Great Uncle George too. The loop is thus closed correctly.

I presume they do this using the birth and death dates which I had on both the windows where she was before. Nice one GR!
