My Daubeneys are an absolute pain. Apart from the mis-spellings you can imagine with a name like that they're also recorded as Dobbin, Dobney, Dewbery and on and on (and that's just the ones I can find, there are other blighters who just refuse to come out of hiding). |

My GGrandfathers Mother died when he was very young. He put the wrong name on his MC and I had to argue with my cousin that she had gone off on a tangent using the woman he had named. |

Both my Mother and Father's familys had a habit of naming their first son after the father and referring to all of ther children by their middle names. My dad was named Gordon Anthony but was known his whole life as Tony (except by the idiot vicar at his funeral). We've always called my uncle Eric, but I've just found out his name was actually Arthur Eric, and his dad was Arthur. |
