I AM LOOKING TO FIND OUT ABOUT MY GGGRANDFATHER,ALEXANDER DUNLOP.WE KNOW HE WAS A GUNSMITH IN LONDON UNTIL HIS DEATH IN1878,AND THAT HE WAS MARRIED TO A HARRIET FISHER AN HAD TWO SONS THAT WE KNOW OF.WE DON`T KNOW WHERE HE WAS BORN OR CAME FROM,AS HE DOES`NT APPEAR IN ANY CENCUS IN THE MARYLEBOURNE AREA WHERE WE KNOW HE LIVED.
ANY ADVISE AS TO WHERE I CAN FIND THIS INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED

According to freebmd he was 61 when he died. -jl

Always allow for mistranscription.......poor writing on originals.etc, etc

Image says he died of cancer of the tongue and throat, on March 2nd 1878 aged 62.

He was admitted to the workhouse on Feb 22nd. No details recorded of the burial.

His father was also Alexander Dunlap, Gunmaker.

The groom is recorded as Alexander Dunlap junior.

Her Father was Joseph Davis stay maker.

Witnesses were Thomas Dunlap, Ann Davis and Mary Ann Dunlap.

Bride and groom both give their address as Gilbert Street

It looks like 2 households both living at No 17, the Bell household, and the one with Jane Carey and the Dunlops. The address is the same as for the baptism of daur Harriet Dunlap that I posted earlier.
