On the image Eli Shaw is not in brackets and there is an and sign next to his name. I would read the entry as: |

I wonder if the church in Slaithwaite was a daughter church of the one is Huddersfield, and records were duplicated, as there is also a death of a Joshua Beaumont recorded at both of them, with the same date and address. |

Just to clarify a point about the birth date - in the old parish records a new year started at Easter, so anyone being born before Easter (even in March/April) of 1750 would be transcribed in bishops transcripts as born in 1749. Likewise someone born up to Easter 1751 would be transcribed as born in 1750. |

Thanks for that Flip. I have just checked the PR for Joshua's birth and upto 18th March is under 1749 and from 25th March is under 1750. |

Yes before 1752 the year started on 25th March (Lady Day) rather than Easter. |
