Have just been on facebook and spotted a comment that Ancestry charge £22.99 to supply a certificate for you. What a rip off, and they are not the most expensive. |

When I first started my tree 3 1/2 years ago the first marriage cert I bought was from ancestry as I didn't know any different....I think that was £18 at the time and of course it didn't have my grandparents signatures on which I would have liked to have seen. |

I would agree that the government site is generally the best place, but I was recently surprised to be able to order a copy of a parish register of marriage over the phone ( backed up by e mail details of details of date and place etc.) and was only charged £8. |
