Scottish Parish record some advice please

If you go on the website for scotlandspeoplehub you will be able to view what information is available in each parish's OPR's. For the parish of Aberdour,Aberdeenshire, Births, 1698 - 1783, 1783- 1819, 1820 -54.Marriages, 1698 - 1751, 1786 - 1819, 1820 - 1854, Deaths, 1786 - 1819, 1847 - 54. |

As Margaret died after her husband, it is highly likely she went to live with relatives after she was widowed, given her age.This could explain why she was living in a different parish.If I remember correctly the gravedigger's notes state the lairs the deceased were buried in. Women were often referred to by their maiden name in Scotland. I do not think there is a headstone for Samuel & Margaret though:( |
