I just got my 4 x GrGrandmothers DC, she died in 1854 and the cause of death states."Strangulation" Hernia, certified. but then Hernia, certified has been crossed out and a Large question mark ? in its place, what you you think of it...? that the doctor didn't attend her death or maybe foul play? |

I'd say it was probably Strangulated Hernia, and the "certified" has been crossed out because the registrar realised (or maybe asked the question too late) that the doctor hadn't confirmed that the Hernia was "strangulated". |

Strangulated hernia doesn't mean she was strangled, |

My mum had a strangulated hernia and it was only quick medical attention in hospital that averted a tragedy |

Thank you all, seems more logical when someone else points it out :-) |
