The death would be registered in the name they were known by, If the person changed their name then the new name is the one they would be known by and so registered under that name, |

If a person who dies was adopted.....they wouldn't have their birth name on the death cert |

But surely when someone is adopted then legally they no longer existed under their birth name . |

I am not sure if Seagate is asking about a death that he/she will need to register or if it is a general question about registering deaths. If it is the former, than surely the person to ask is the Registrar; if the latter, I am sure I have seen deaths on freebmd where more than one name is given. |
