My cousin changed her name by Deed Poll in the 1960s

I have her birth certificate in her 'real' name

Her Marriage in her 'new' name (mentioning deed poll name change)

And her death certificate in her 'new' name, no mention of original name, even though person who resistered death knew of name change.

Researching:
We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars, Oscar Wilde New avatar, my dad age about 3/4 months, could have been worse, it could have been the awful nude on a rug!!

I am not sure if Seagate is asking about a death that he/she will need to register or if it is a general question about registering deaths. If it is the former, than surely the person to ask is the Registrar; if the latter, I am sure I have seen deaths on freebmd where more than one name is given.

But surely when someone is adopted then legally they no longer existed under their birth name .

Cant see .even if a registrar was informed of the fact , that anything other than their legal name would be recorded on any certs

If a person who dies was adopted.....they wouldn't have their birth name on the death cert

In some cases the informant nor the deceased would have known what the birth name was anyway

I think seagate knows that the person has changed their name and so wants to know if he is legallymorally bound to give both surnames if he is the one who supplies the death information?
(You could argue that if this is the case he would be known to the informant by both names.)

The death would be registered in the name they were known by, If the person changed their name then the new name is the one they would be known by and so registered under that name,

Info on all death certs is only as good as the informants knowledge of the deceased person

hi

i was wondering if anybody could answer my query?

if person changes his birth surname when this person dies and when the death is registered do we have to inform the registrar that this person has changed his name ?
because if somebody is looking up family tree and find his birth but cannot find death because the name registered at death is not same as birth?

hope this is clear what i am trying to say?
