What's the worst thing under a crinoline?

Just came across an article in the Manchester Courier September 21 1861. A girl visiting a local apiary within a pleasure gardens caught her crinoline on a beehive. The whole lot came crashing down and the swarm of angry bees went up inside her crinoline! Aaaargh! |

I think the worst thing is that they did'nt wear any underwear beneath those skirts. Dos'nt bare thinking about does it? |

Where did you get that one from, Mel? Crinolines were known for flying in the ladies' faces at the slightest of breezes. Underwear was a must. |
