How / where can I find out when someone came here from India c1885 please.

if you don't find information from passenger lists you may be able to see if they had Alien Registration documents in the county they lived in in GB .
These can give more information ;proffession ,place of birth even photos .

He is making my head spin at the moment because adds up and he is only very indirectly related to me but one of the problems we just love to solve.
I have him in one census as age 6 the next 18, his marriage and when he died but not when he arrived in UK. Grrrr.

It is indeed his arrival that I would like to know.
His name is Roy Forbes he was born ( allegedly ) in Calcutta c1883, on his marriage cert his Father is Robert Forbes, deceased, tea packer. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

I can only see him in 1901, working as a barman. The there is a 1911 marriage to May Jackson

I'm guessing this is him?
