My wife's mother's maiden name was Tushingham, and she often remarked to my wife about her relative, Zelma Shone, nee Owen. Both these families were publicans, George Tushingham being the licensee of The New Inn, in Newtown, Chester, and Horace Owen licensee of The Angel Hotel in Brook Street, Chester. Zelma P. Owen was born in 1921 to a lady: maiden name Tushingham. I am attempting to ascertain the link at this stage, and would appreciate a pointer or two in this quest. |
