My grandad Thoma R.Hadley born 29/06/1893 , death certificate says his fathers occupation was a captain, master mariner, have found out the schooner Jane, was wrecked of Yarmouth in 1877 , so maybe his grandad on this, 6 lives lost , maybe his uncle Albert Hadley , other relations too, my aunts though there dad Thomas from Sussex ? The Thomas Hadley ,same year born 1893 , I can only find ?is from Winvenhoe Essex , just checking how do I know definitely his family or not? The next interesting ,and very sad bit is, his brother Joseph Hadley born 1886 , died in a ship wreck of kangaroo island , Australia , in 1905 ,all lives lost on this schooner ,called loch vennachar , thanks for any help

Crew of the final voyage[edit] Loch Vennechar.
Captain W. Hawkins and Chief Officer James Priest
From left: D.S.M. Thompson, T. Pearce (apprentice) and J. Hadley The first list of persons likely to be on the ship at the time of her loss appeared in the news media in late September 1905. This list which contained 23 names of individuals who could be either crew or passengers was compiled from letters waiting for collection by the ship at the offices of George Wills & Co., the ship's agent in Adelaide.[21] A subsequent newspaper article advised that apprentices S.C. Brown and Robert Andrews had respectively transferred from Loch Vennachar to Loch Garry and Loch Torridon despite their names being included on the previously published list.[22] In late November 1905, the following list was published in a number of newspapers in Australia and in papers in both New Zealand and Scotland. This list which 'was received at Fremantle by the English mail' indicates that there were no passengers on the last voyage.[23]
W. S Hawkins, master, Glasgow James Priest, mate, North Shields Charles Radcliffe, second mate, USA Fred. W. Lake, third mate, Melbourne James Reid, carpenter, Dumbarton W. Molseed, steward, Greenock W. McLean, cook, Glasgow R. Simpson, sailmaker, Greenock Eugen Broberg, A.B., Stockholm Donald Mathieson, A.B., Skye A. Anderson, A.B., Kragero E: McEwan, A.B., Greenock Thomas Anderson, A .B., Arandel Hugh Humphreys, A.B., Portmadoc Alexander Dunlop, A.B., Rothesay M. Jenson, A.B., Aarhus David Hanson, A.B., Bergen E. Holden, A.B., Newark, N.J. John Bickle, A.B., Edinburgh William Barry, A.B., Adelaide Edward McPhie, O.S., Morven William Turnbull, O.S., Grangemouth William Martin, O.S., Glasgow Joseph W. Hadley, apprentice, Wivenhoe Thomas. W. Pearce, apprentice, Southampton D. S. B. Thomson, apprentice, Melbourne Horace Eastwood, apprentice, Knottingley In the above list, the abbreviations A.B. and O.S. refer respectively to Able seaman and Ordinary seaman.
The passing of Thomas Pearce received attention in the Australian press due to his father, Tom Pearce, being well known as one of the two survivors of the Loch Ard wrecking in 1878, and as his grandfather, James Pearce, was the captain of SS Gothenburg at the time of her loss in 1875.[24]

Thomas deserted from the RAF in 1925 at Leuchars.
He also died in Scotland. Does the death certificate not have his Mother's name on too (Mary Ann Kent)?

Thanks to everyone who has confirmed all this information for me, it's very interesting and sad too, as the family were then penniless after schooner Jane went down. Was in Australia while back , would have went to kangaroo island , if had known this sooner, thanks again much appreciated Helen
