Births Mar 1912
Wilkins George H .... Duff..... Birkenhead 8a 1063

For a birth in the second half of December, it is quite common to see a registration in the March quarter of the following year.

A copy of the birth certificate would show an address which should help locate the parents in 1911 census.

Thank you all for the information it is greatly appreciated.
I have only what George put on his Marriage cert. to my grandmother Marjory, (2nd wife).. He has listed his parents as Albert edward Wilkins -dock labourer- deceased and mother as Margaret Duff. And his birth date at 17 dec 1911.
However when cross check cannot find a duff giving birth in 1911 only for 1912
And no marriage link between his parents
So main problem is getting past George to find correct parents and possible siblings.

Again Thank you all very much.

Three younger children still to account for

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 4 Feb 2021 11:03

In the case I am aware of that could be supposed. Only the child of the first marriage was shown, the child from the second was fostered then adopted after the mother died of birth complications and other children have been found via DNA testing.

The names of the parents and the details of the first child must have been in his personal paperwork. Nothing from his last marriage was shown.

The first child of the marriage to Hannah died in infancy, which fits nicely with 2 closed records on 1939 register
