I was only trying to translate a sentence. Makes you wonder what some people may be saying to others if they use that particular on line translator, does not bear thinking about. lol

I loved reading as a child and loved being read to, I thought then and still do that books are magical. You can get lost in a story and use your own imagination.

My Nan used to sing us (my sister and cousin and me) to sleep too.

What a horrible Mummy that woman was pulling her childs hair.

Good morning Everyone,

Wet & dull but just hoping we'll see a glimpse of sun today.

I somehow managed to turn off my lappy early last night, and watch the TV.
Hubby thought I was Sick . LOL

Anyway I'm back on today.......but promised myself a good walk this afternoon
my weight is gaining sat here , but I do love it,sat talking to everyone.

I did a lot of research yesterday and I am quite happy with myself, I also managed to help someone out on their tree. that felt good.
I also can speak another language, Cornish !!
My grandmother was Cornish and I could not always understand her ,
She used to say * werbe gwain* that's were are you going !LOL
Amongst other sayings.like *webe up to* What are you up to !!

Thinking also on grandmother as she never had kitchen scales but anything she cooked was just chucked in the mixing bowl ,but
was so tasteful. why is that ??

Oh well bath time now..........see you all later.

Just to let you all know....I'm unique ..!!

I am a descendant from a MONK !! in St Clement in Cornwall in 1489.he was called Dom John Tregascour.

Now how about that LOL

Now your all going to ask me how I know ?.....Well I did my tree on the Tegaskis's side and joined up with a guy that had written a book ,he went as far back as that . in fact I still have the book, so valuable for anyone tracing the name TREGASKIS..

All this talk of being connected to famous or unusual people is not fair , so far I have found out that I have somewhere a very little connection through a lot af ancestors through marriage on my dads side to King Malcom of Scotland. but this I learnt from other member on GR so I have not confirmed it.
Family seacher you mentioned sitting at the computer is bad for the waist line, it's no good for the back or shoulders either, can only sit at computer for more than half an hour or my back & shoulders start to ache.
Enjoy your walk Marilyn.
I hope it's fine weather for you , It's cold, Cloudy and I am expecting rain, here any time

Annx

Annx Report 15 May 2009 13:37

Marilyn, I am a bit puzzled.....I thought monks were not allowed to....you know what.... or have I got it wrong!!! lol Perhaps he wasn't always a monk .

Lorraine, I have a common ancestor with Sir Bernard Ingram. Why can't we find some handsome men!!! lol

GRMarilyn

GRMarilyn Report 15 May 2009 16:35

Oh Annx lots of laugh's,

(John b1437 the monk ) somehow produced a son (John.b1463) that had a son (John b1510) that married an Elizabeth ...!! the only women mentioned
as early as this.

There's no mention of women with the first two Johns must have been holy births....LOL

Then they in turn became the vicars of St Clements in Cornwall...

That produced ME !!

My BIL was sent to a Monastary?Spelling there. He was going to be a trainee Monk lol.He was 15 when his parents sent him there. He said he could tell all sorts of tales about the Monks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needless to say he didn't become one.He meets up once a year with some of the friends he was there with.My sister calls his meet The Monkey meet lol.I think only one of the boys he was there with became a Monk.
