I remember many years ago seeing a Walt Disney film about a fawn and its forest friends

I think that the film was titled Blandi :-S

Bobtanian Report 9 Mar 2017 23:08

Allan

Allan Report 9 Mar 2017 23:15

"From Middle English blanden, blonden, from Old English blandan ?(“to blend, mix, mingle; trouble, disturb, corrupt”), "

Allan are you trying to corrupt us all with your bland thread, trying to hide behind it's blandness but really......... :-)

Allan

Allan Report 10 Mar 2017 22:29

Ah! The good old corruption, and I do mean old:

archaic

(of organic or inorganic matter) in a state of decay; rotten or putrid.

"a corrupt and rotting corpse

Could this apply to the body of a Thread? :-0

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 10 Mar 2017 23:21

....or the thread of a body?

Not speaking personally, of course :-D

...or corpse.....

Allan

Allan Report 10 Mar 2017 23:32

English is a fascinating language, particularly the change of usage of some words over a period of time :-D

I'm just glad that I was born English and didn't have to learn it as a second language. :-D :-D :-D

It was different for my OH as even though she was born in England she didn't learn English until she was five :-0

Caroline

Caroline Report 10 Mar 2017 23:46

LOL there are so many regions of England that I could suggest she may have lived in therefore could not speak English :-D

Allan

Allan Report 11 Mar 2017 00:11

OH was born in Oldham and lived in Middleton, both in Lancashire :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Mar 2017 00:28

Sorry Allan but that is blandy boring :-D :-D :-D

Oh sorry should I have said "Hey up Luv" first ?!!

Allan

Allan Report 13 Mar 2017 08:39

The correct expression is " 'Ey oop, luv!" :-P

but speaking of earlier times, I remember my first bland date :-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 13 Mar 2017 09:07

Sorry not a Northern lass :-D Just wanted to nudge the thread.

Allan

Allan Report 14 Mar 2017 22:20

All who want to escape, even momentarily, from the 'serious' thread are most welcome here :-D

I've changed my mind about not wanting a vote in UK elections :-0

It appears that it could be fun after thirty-odd years away from the old Country.

Ah! The mischief that I could achieve :-D :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 14 Mar 2017 23:47

Shame the monster raving loony party isn't around any more or is it.......

Allan

Allan Report 14 Mar 2017 23:49

I believe that it is alive and well, but now only has one member!

Caroline

Caroline Report 14 Mar 2017 23:50

Does she tend to wear a little red suit often ??

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 14 Mar 2017 23:51

Sorry, the Monster Raving Loony Party, in it's prime were useful to society!
They were the instigators of the 'pet passport' :-D :-D :-D

The remaining member must be the doggy bag of the party.

Caroline

Caroline Report 15 Mar 2017 00:05

At least people had someone to vote for when none of the above would have been a great option.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 15 Mar 2017 00:08

Yes - and I'm 'guilty' of that :-D
