Linda, yes I have mentioned Chris in this respect before It would be interesting if Chris and Pete were up against each other in the finals.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Dec 2024 08:58

The same should be said of Chris Ann. The fact that he can dance as he does is incredible, but he does make mistakes, but the public are voting for him and it has been obvious for weeks that he is going to win the show. The only way that he won’t is if he were to end up in the dance off against a better dancer such as Tasha. The judges would then have a problem because he is the weakest dancer, but that won’t happen because the public will keep him in

AnninGlos Report 2 Dec 2024 08:46

I think we just have to accept that Pete is going through whatever. Even Craig felt obliged to mention the fact that Pete had good supporters. and he remarked that it was why we have viewers voting as that made it fair. Sorry to disagree with Craig but it is not fair because the 'voters' for Pete and voting to keep him in regardless of his dancing ability and probably from a desire to skew the show by messing up the voting.

So Pirate Pete lives to fight another day :-0 :-S

I kind of guessed it would be Montell going, and again she was put against a more accomplished dancer. :-(

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 2 Dec 2024 06:59

Well would you Adam and Eve it :-0. Pete in the Semi Finals and Tasha & Montell in the dance off :-0

I felt sorry for Montell because I thought her Rhumba was very good and told a story
:-(. As soon as I heard Tasha was in the dance off too the writing was sadly on the wall for Montell :-(

So Pete survives another week :-0

Two dances per couple next week it will be interesting to see how they all cope with that :-0

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 1 Dec 2024 11:07

I love Musical week :-D. I think it gives the opportunity to make the dances like production dances and I don't mind the additional dancers :-)

Sarah's Charleston disappointed :-(. I thought there were far too many lifts and feel it would have been better if it had been more of a traditional Charleston :-0. It seems to be each week there is a need to see how many lifts they can cram into their sequence :-0

Montell's Rhumba was different but I feel she carried it off well :-)

Tasha's Argentine Tango was a little bit of a disappointment to me :-0. I love the dance but for some reason it lacked something, I can't put my finger on what :-0. Perhaps if the music had been more traditional it would have helped :-0. There is no doubt though that Tasha is a very good dancer but that is what you would expect from someone with her background :-)

Chris's Quickstep was A-maa-zing :-D. The amount of floor they covered was unbelievable and all in sync :-0. How Dianne teaches him when he can't see to copy her moves is beyond me :-0

Pete's Waltz was good but he is way behind the others :-0. However as a non-dancer he has done very well :-). I thought he looked so much better with shorter hair and his eyes are a gorgeous blue ;-). But this is a dance competition :-D

JB's Viennese Waltz was for me the dance of the night :-). I think it is just such a lovely dance and he made it look quite effortless which is how it should be :-)

I think Pete should be in the dance off but what do I know as I've said that for a number of weeks :-0. I think Montell will be spared the dance off this week but perhaps Sarah will take her place :-0. Pete to go though :-(

I enjoyed the evening. And I actually like the extra dancers. I suppose they are treating it now as more entertainment than dance competition. Chris was great, those very fast steps and all with not seeing where he is going. so much trust. I enjoyed JB's dance, I really like him he seems a very nice person. Yes there were a lot of lifts but they show a certain type of skill. However they are not in a gymnastics competition. I keep think what Len would have said, He didn't even like any lifts in the American smooth. Pete is certainly trying hard . I think he should be in the dance off, but his fans will keep him in so not really sure who will be the unlucky ones.
Hated the judges fancy dress. Although interesting to see Shirley didn't go glamorous.

MotownGal Report 1 Dec 2024 08:11

Oh please stop the judges from dressing up! :-0 The only one who looked halfway decent was Motsi. Loved the Supremes look <3

I dont really know what I thought last night, I dont like it with the additional dancers, I find it too distracting :-(

Sarah's charleston was not original enough for me. Far too many lifts, she spent most of her dance in the air, not enough on the floor. :-(

I see Carlos was pushing himself to the front of the queue again, making faces every time someone spoke :-S

Montell danced a strong and dramatic Rumba, but I dont think the judges were overly impressed.

Tasha and her Tango was more like an Exhibition Dance to me, not enough kicks and flicks, and again too many lifts :-(

Chris, amazed me again. He flew across the floor in his Quickstep. He and Dianne have such a rapport and they trust one another. Great stuff <3

Pere's Waltz was one of the sexiest I have seen. As a non dancer, he has come on in leaps and bounds, but I still dont know if it will save him :-S

JB;s Viennese Waltz was the closing number, but to me it was too much of a production and a show dance. Great but a little too much in it for me.

I think it may be Pete and Montell in the dance off. But I dont know who will go.

MotownGal Report 30 Nov 2024 12:22

Another Saturday night, and the competition is hotting up :-0

Apparently Pete is nicknamed Pirate Pete because he looks like Johnny Depp. Cant see it myself. :-S

Sadly I think the judges are becoming a bit too vocal. It is like X Factor (although I havent seen it in years) they are getting all the attention, rather than the dancers. I wish Shirley could keep in her seat and stop jumping up and swaying around :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Nov 2024 10:38

I wonder if actually that wouldn't work because Chris already has a developed (maybe) 'sixth sense' as he is used to living round people without seeing. It would probably be dangerous if it was a group test.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 27 Nov 2024 08:16

Annx, I agree with what you have said about Chris :-)

I think the Sambathon would have been a good opportunity to have tested this out ie blindfolded the Celeb contestants :-)

Annx

Annx Report 26 Nov 2024 18:55

Yes, even Pete and his partner looked very shocked, Jamie was very gracious but he should have stayed.

I really like Chris and his courage and Dianne for getting his posture and steps so good when he can't even watch what she does. Not as part of the competition of course, but wouldn't it be good to see how the others coped learning a dance blindfolded?

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 25 Nov 2024 11:16

Ooooher! How spooky. This my original post above, but the one I added later has disappeared :-S :-S

As we know, we are not privy to the number of people who voted. I wonder because Jamie won the contest last Christmas, it would have been a bit odd for him to win again. Or am I just being too cynical?

Shame he was let go, and it does seem strange that Pete is still hanging on in there. :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Nov 2024 10:16

Well it appears that Mine and Belle's comments this morning have been lost and can't be retrieved while apparently everything else has.

I can't remember what I said now except I was sorry to see Jamie go and it should have been Pete. I wonder how long his large support group will keep him in. Probably all younger people who care nothing about dancing at all. Even Pete was shocked to be in still.

Jamie was very calm in defeat he is such a nice person I am sorry to lose him.

I wonder how long Chris will stay in now. He is a lovely man and I am in awe of how he manages but it is a dance competition.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 25 Nov 2024 10:13

I did Post on the Thread earlier but it has been whooshed :-0

Pete must have a huge fan base as he was the weakest dancer :-0. It's a bit like Dan Walker a couple of years back who also got to the Qtr Finals :-0

It was a shame that Jamie & Montell had to dance off but I think The Judges got it right and thankfully it was a unanimous decision:-D. I feel sorry for Jamie but he did seem to enjoy the experience :-)

Musical Week next week that I like :-D

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 24 Nov 2024 08:07

It is getting harder and harder now to choose, as they all seemed dazed after Blackpool I thought.

So...........Pete tried his best at the Tango but I thought he looked a little lacklustre. Maybe not his best dance.

Sarah pulled another rabbit out of the hat with her Rumba. Technically very good, but I am getting a bit jaded with the screeching and over the top when they reach Claudia. They are both as excitable as each other now. Calm down dear! :-0

JB did a great old fashioned Charleston, really energetic. I though Lauren looked a bit like Amanda Barrie in her wig. :-D :-D :-D

Jamie's Foxtrot was smooth and elegant .

Chris did his best with the Paso, but it was not his best. I know it is a marching dance, but I thought he was a bit stompy. Lovely to see Diannes parents in the audience. :-)

Montelle and JoJo flew across the room with the Quickstep. Very light on their feet.

Tasha's American Smooth could have fitted well into a film dance sequence. Lovely

Dont know what to think of the Sambathon. Maybe a bit of padding to extend the show. :-0

So maybe, Pete in the dance off with Jamie? We could have a shocker again, who knows :-0

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 24 Nov 2024 07:58

It's getting really tough to choose between them all now :-0

Not sure about the Sambathon as I don't think Chris stood a chance, it's bad enough when you are fully sighted to dance on a crowded dance floor:-0 :-0

Pete's Tango was one of his better dances but he still has some catching up to do with the other Celebs :-0

Sarah's Rumba was a matter of Vito trying to cram too much into the choreography
:-0. It was sensual but lacked something I thought :-0

JB's Charleston was great :-). I like it when it is danced in the traditional way, one of the dances of the night :-)

Jamie's Foxtrot was a little wooden but perhaps that is how it is suppose to be danced :-0

Chris's Paso wasn't his best dance :-(. However, hats off to Dianne trying to teach the dance as she was telling Chris it's kinda Latin but it's ballroom :-0. I still think it was
A-maa-zing as the steps were in sync and he danced to the music :-)

Montell's Quickstep was elegant and she and Johannes looked very much the part :-)

Tasha's American Smooth was for me the dance of the night :-). The lifts were graceful and unlike other American Smooths that we've seen weren't a distraction but were very much part of the dance :-)

So the dances of the night for me, in no particular order ;-), were JB, Montell & Tasha :-D

I think Pete should be in the dance off but not sure who with, perhaps Jamie :-0
Pete has done very well but I think it is time for him to go :-(

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Nov 2024 15:17

yes getting more difficult now and some of them will have to 'up' their performance a bit more. Including Pete.

Annx

Annx Report 18 Nov 2024 13:32

Yes Pete did look shocked not to be in the dance off and I thought he was moving as if he had an ant in those tight pants. Wynne is great entertainment and I thought of Ronnie Barker when he pranced in on that hobby horse. Always smiling too and has has improved such a lot, but Montel is a better dancer. I thought it might be touch and go on their dances on the night though, as I didn't like Montel's at all. A lot of it seemed a bit 'samey' to me and not much armography for a Salsa. Sarah is very good, but all the amazing lifts she's been doing in her dances are more gymnast off the floor than footwork. I never could stand her silly character in Miranda either. Chris is a dream and how on earth he gets so much right like frame and posture for each dance is amazing when he can't see. Dianne is a fantastic teacher to get him to such a good standard. Who will be next I wonder. So much depends on the dance they get too.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 18 Nov 2024 08:51

Agree with both, Sorry to see Wynne go, and I guess his co celebrities will be too, I think he would have kept them smiling. But of the two it was the right decision. Yes, Pete has obviously got a large following, plus those people who maybe didn't like Wynne. I did catch something the other day that Pete was on and he seems a really nice person. Even he was shocked not to be in the dance off I think.
