Just to try to make sense of it -

Albert (father Wiliam) and Elizabeth Fletcher married in Sept qr of 1901.

Albert (father Emmanuel) and Mary Jane Hacking also married in Sept qr of 1901.

Mary Jane's marriage broke down somehow, and her Albert went to USA.

Bigamy could be a reason - father's name given as William as a smoke-screen ??

But it seems a bit much, even for a bold bigamist, to marry two women almost simultaneously!

So it looks as if Thomas's father was still around in 1923 - so can't be Emmanuel's son .
Anyway, Emmanuel's son went to the USA approx. 1906 - and Albert 1908 hadn't been born.

On 9 Dec 1915, he says his age is 35 yrs 1 month - which would make his birthday in November 1880.
No mention of parents in that document, of course, as his NOK is Elizabeth..

EDIT:
On a medical examination page -
examination on 5 Sept 1916. Age 35 yrs 10 months - which matches the above.

Blind in right eye, but not sufficient to cause rejection from Army.

I can't find baptisms or burials for the other children, not can I find Elsie on the 1911 Census

I had checked for Proctor/Hacking births - but only on FreeBMD.

As mentioned on page 1, that only showed Harry and Sidney in Burnley (1913 & 1922), but I assumed they were the children of the 1908 Burnley couple.

FreeBMD doesn't show any of those other births you found on GRO, Sylvia;, which is why I thought (on page 1) there were no children of the marriage.

Hmmm - Elsie - I'll have a look for her.

Haven't yet found Mary Jane in 1911, either.

Nor 1891 or 1901, for that matter.

I think Elsie Hayhurst (DOB 15 June 1905), in the 1939 record for Mary Jane, is Elsie Proctor.

In 1939, she's married, and Mildred is her child.

1939 says Mildred's DOB is [deleted - but in 4th qr) 1934, but there are so many mistakes in the 1939 Register. Perhaps her birth was actually [date in 4th qr ] 1933.


Elsie may have had another daughter in 1938, Amounderness. - but she's not with them in 1939, and there's no closed record.
I don't see a death 1938-9.

Mildred married in 1955, to the surname shown in 1939 register.

They were both on ER for Lostock Hall, 2003-8.

Her husband probably died 23 Aug 2012.

They had possibly four children born in Amounderness reg district.

However, as far as I can understand, Les isn't interested in this family!

It's the family of Albert 1908 with father William that he wants.

But the addiction does tend to kick in.
