Winterton Hospital in Sedgefield was classed as a lunatic asylum/mental hospital at that time.

There is a Rothwell/ Sey birth for a daughter in 1942 Uxbridge. Alice and she travel to Montreal in 1957 and Alice is recorded as being single (single was also used for widowed or divorced) Alice's birth date was 3/6/15 and her address was The Manse, Kincardine O'Neill where she had been housekeeper. They intended to settle in Canada.

Interesting!

So the ER I posted for Alice on page 1 is correct.

The possible 2003 death in Bury which I posted at the same time, is presumably not the right one, as the DOB doesn't match.
Anyway, she emigrated ( but could have come back).

The Gazette states ,,,,,,,a school teacher.!

I knew that Renee had received a cap and gown but I didn’t know she had been a school teacher. So sad that she was so unhappy to do what she did.
