Hi All,

Thank you all for thinking about me, it's nice to be thought about.

Julia, I would love to meet you at the garden centre for a cuppa and a good natter. I'll send you a pm so that we can make arrangements to meet. Thank you for the offer, I'm sure it will do me good to meet up with you, I'll look forward to it.

Mo, I will reply to your email over the next day or two. Just been finding it hard to think straight over the last week or so.

Pleased to see that you and your family enjoyed yourselves last night. I would love to see the photos you've taken, if that's okay with you?

Alun and I went over to see the New Year in with Jennie and Michael. I was glad that we went, it was lovely watching the fireworks, but I loved seeing the Chinese sky lanterns most of all.

Did I see it mentioned on here, that it's Roly's birthday today? If it is
I hope he's had a good day and please could you wish him a belated Happy Birthday from both me and Alun.

Alun will be 65 on Monday, he would have retired, but he decided that he'd like to stay on for an extra year or two.

Marie, lovely to hear that you enjoyed the New Years Eve party that you went to.
I hope that you've heard from your brother and sister by now, and that their house didn't get any water through it.

Ann, it's nice sometimes to spend a peaceful evening at home on New Years Eve. Alun and I spent most of the evening at home, until Jennie rang and asked if we would like to join her and Michael to see the New Year in.

I have a couple of issues to try and sort out, which I thought had been sorted, but of course I had put them to the back of my mind thinking that
everything was okay, but these things have a way of coming back and so causing problems once again.
I have to back to see the doctor in three weeks time, and in the meantime he will get in touch with the Psychiatrist again, and he'll also consider if I need to change my medication.

Jean, hope that you, J and D enjoyed your New Years Eve. Did you go anywhere to celebrate?

I hope you received my New Year card, I put the right address on it this time.lol! Although as it happens, it was Alun that wrote the adress on your card and a few other cards too, so it was his fault.lolol!

I received a Christmas card yesterday from one of my cousins, he had addressed it to Mr & Mrs A Richards, Eastfield Ave. Goodness knows why he thought our surname was Richards after 43 years. I can only think that he was thinking of our Richard at the time he was writing it. Oh well, at least we received it.

Huia, so pleased that your son and daughter were with you yesterday. I'm sure you enjoyed your get togather with them.

Hope your son is enjoying his camping trip. It sounds as though he and his mates are camping not too far away from where you live. If that's the case, you'll probably see him before he returns home.

Did you get your bedding washed and dried as you said you were going to? As you said the bed smells lovely with fresh sheets, pillow cases and covers.

I hope that all will be alright with Phil, when you next visit him.

Joyce, if you're looking in, I hope that things are a bit better for you. Also hope that your son is recovering from pneumonia and starting to feel a bit better. I'm thinking about you Joyce and hope that Jan is okay.
How is Jan's cousin doing? Hope she's getting over her operation.

Jennie has to go for a blood test early next week, they are concerned that one of the tablets she takes is affecting her liver, so if that's the case they'll have to take her off it-----a shame in one way, because she hasn't had any any problems with her Crohn's since she's on them. We'll have to wait and see.

Caz, don't worry about replying to my pm, I understand how things are--- the main thing is you are hopfully feeling a bit better than you've been lately and not in so much pain as you've been in.

Have you been able to do any cards since Christmas? I'm very slow going with them at the moment.

Sylvia, I've been thinking about you and your OH. I hope you enjoyed New Years Eve on the train.
Also hope that you had a lovely Christmas with J, M and MJ.
Have a safe journey home, looking forward to hearing about your Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Tess, thank you for your Christmas card, and I hope that you enjoyed your Christmas and New Years Eve.

Is your son still staying with you? Sorry, but I can't remember what you told us.

Well, that's it for now, speak to you all soon.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Sallie it's lovely to see you back on here, hope you enjoyed your Christmas despite not being well. I haven't done any cards since before Christma but I called in the store where I get my stash and spent a fortune on peeloffs and other stuff, I'm raring to get started again. I'll get hubby back to work then I can do what I want, that's if my stupid legs will let me, I'm starting to feel better after my fall, hip is still a bit painful to walk on but I'm getting there.
I have my own nurse from the pain clinic and I think I will ring her when things get back to normal see if she can help me some more, but I think she will just up my morphine which I don't like taking but no choice.
Hello to everyone else and I hope you all enjoyed your new year revelries, I'd love to see the photos Mo if it would be ok.

Hi again ladies,

Joyce, lovely to hear from you. Pleased to hear that your son Michael is now out of hospital, and that he's feeling better than he was. From my own experience, I know that it takes a long time to get over pneumonia, so he won't be feeling really well for a few month's. I was 41 when I had it and it took me a good while to be able to do the things I normally did, again.

Mo, thank you for the photos, it's great to see you and Roly and of course some of your family too.

Jean, you are busy with the album you're doing. Do you have to make it by a certain time?
I'm not into doing any crafting at the moment, I'm afraid. I hope that I'll be able to put my mind on it again very soon.

I'll speak to you all tomorrow.

Mo I hope Roly has had a lovely birthday.

Sallie, so good to see a couple of good long posts from you. I am pleased that you are going to meet up with Julia.

Sylvia, you will soon be back, hope you had a good christmas and enjoyed your New Year on the train.

Joyce, I don't think I have sent you a photo, I will if you let me have your e mail address.

Caz, hope you can get back into your card making soon, I need to get another A4 box for storing my marker pens. I have been keeping them upright and apparently they should be stored horizontally.

Did anyone else watch the 1974 Morecambe and Wise christmas show? I wish they still made programmes like that nowadays.

YorkshireCaz

YorkshireCaz Report 2 Jan 2011 19:06

Mo I have just sent you a pm with my e-mail addy. Ann I read that marker pens should be kept point down to keep the ink flowing to get a good coverage. I am waiting for hubby to go back to work then I can spend as long as I want doing cards, I find I can't concentrate at night too tired. It was the best thing I did getting interested in cardmaking, and I'm even more into it now than when I started.
Mentioning Morcambe and Wise, when I went out this morning I found their Christmas collection DVD, three discs so we are in for plenty of laughs for weeks to come.

Hi girls.
Another kind of lazy day today. We did pop up to the club for a quick meet up with friends, as we didn't go out yesterday for Roly's birthday.

Caz I have sent the photo's to you love. Like with everyone else, I hope you receive them o.k.
It is nice when we know who we are talking to on here.

We both loved to watch Morecambe and Wise. No commediens(sp) come up to their standards these days.
We watched David Walliams and Matt Lucas in " Come Fly With Me "the other night, but we must have strange senses of humour, because we did not find it funny at all. In fact we felt it was quite racist at times, and crude at others. If this is what comedy consists of these days, I think I would rather do without it.

Bye for now girls, take care. Love Mo xxx

Sallie

Sallie Report 2 Jan 2011 20:51

Hello Girls,

Caz, lovely to see you posting again. It looks as though you are going to enjoy yourselves over the next few weeks watching the Morcambe and Wise DVD's you bought today.

It's nice having something to watch, as there isn't much on TV at all, there are so many repeats on, that's been on so many times before that we can act them ourselves. Even the programmes that I really like, I'm fed up of watching.

Oh Caz, I wish I could concentrate on making cards, but I'm finding hard to concentrate on anything much at all lately. I know that once I get into making them I won't want to stop.lolol!!

Ann, I've been in touch with Julia, and up to now it looks as though we are going to meet on Thursday, so I'm looking forward to that. I know that the garden centre coffee shop has a very good reputation for the food they serve there, although I don't think we'll be eating there, well at least not a meal.

Mo, thank you for your Happy Birthday Wishes to Alun, I'll pass them on to him tomorrow morning.

Jennie and Michael have been for their Sunday dinner today. I must say that I enjoyed it better than our Christmas dinner, I was beginning to think that I couldn't cook anymore.lol!

Tess, I hope the nausea you had yesterday is not so bad today, it's a horrible feeling, you have my sympathy.

Jean, how is the Album going? hope you've managed to do a few pages over the weekend.

Joyce, sorry to hear about Michael having diseased lungs. Has he had any chest problems in the past or is this because he's had pneumonia?

I hope you are feeling a bit better today, and not in as much pain as you've been in.

Marie, have you heard anything from your brother, our news have been showing Rockhampton, it looks devastating. I really and truly hope that your brother's house is okay.

Huia, hope that all is well with you. Have you heard anymore from your son?

Did you visit Phil over the weekend? If you did, I hope that he was okay and that he was awake and alert, as I know it makes your visit so much more pleasant for you.

I wonder when Sylvia will get home, it'll be nice to hear how she enoyed her Christmas with her family and also how her and OH enjoyed New Years Eve on the train.

Linda, hope all is well with you and your family, and that you enjoyed your Christmas and New Year.

Speak to you all soon.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Well just watched another Morecambe and wise Christmas special on TV, then a couple of soaps I had recorded. Nothing else on to watch really. I am recording Downton as I didn't watch it forst time round, just got to find time to watch it all now!

Sallie, shall think of you and Julia on Thursday then, have fun both of you.

Caz, It was in a card magazine that i read that pro markers should be stored horizontally, because theya re double ended it keeps the ink flowing between the two ends apparently. Hope you soon get back to making your cards, I am so pleased that it is therapeutic for you.

Mo, I don't like Matt Lucas in the comedies he does. However, over New Year we watched him 'training' to take part in les Miserables at the O2 and he was great, he played the part of the Innkeeper and was very good. He has a good voice too. Thatw as a very good programme if you like Les Mis music, very interesting.

Huia

Huia Report 2 Jan 2011 23:42

Our son and his 3 'girlfriends' have gone now. I did see him a couple of times each day as one of the 'girls' has a problem and has some machine which she uses at night to help her to breath, so son would bring the battery over each morning to charge it up (he didnt offer to pay for the power!) and also to put chilly pads in our freezer each day to use in their chilly bins over at the camp. He came each evening to collect the battery and fresh lot of chilly pads. They all seem to have enjoyed their 3 days and have decided they must do it again as there are still a lot of things to do here, walking or mountain biking.

I didnt visit Phil over the weekend. I will be going tomorrow, the 4th, as it is his 81st birthday. Son and I have our birthdays a week later.

Happy birthday to Alun, Sallie, I presume it is the 3rd (date) for him.

My horrid rat visited the bathroom again last night, left 4 calling cards (maybe hinting I should leave out the soap for him) and managed to set the trap off without getting caught. I must get a carpenter in to try to block off the way I think it is getting in. Each night I put the soap in the cupboard, and in the kitchen I turn off the stove at the wall then cover it with newspaper, and also the benches, and put the hot water jug in a cupboard so they cant contaminate it. Quite annoying.

Huia.
