Hi All, won't be the same without Jean popping in will it? But keep this thread going Mo.

We had a lovely trip out to Westonbirt Arboretum today, Only there just over two hours but it was nice to get out amongst the trees in the sunshine. The Magnolias and Camelias and Rhododendrons were all lovely. Not a lot of people there, presumably most of them were in queues for petrol, although that is what it seemed like when we went past a couple of garages. Situation not helped by the local news talking about garages running out of fuel. well one they mentioned as having run out obviously had another delivery because the cars were way back down the road causing mayhem to those of us who just wanted to get into the supermarket. (T***O). Anyway we enjoyed our trip and had a picnic lunch in the sunshine, there was a slight cool breeze but it wasn't cold. :-)

Apologies to anyone who reads the Welsh thread as I have coied and pasted, couldn't type all that out again. :-D :-D

Hello my friends,
I can't wait to get my laptop back, I just can't get on with this one of my sons, it wobbles all over the place, and makes me feel sea sick.

Oooh we will miss our Jean wont we girls. Please keep in contact my lovely,I shall miss you so much.
Also knowing how J+D are is important to me. MWAH Jean.

Ann, this thread will stay where it is,as it's lovely to catch up with everyones news.
It's the same here where the petrol situation is concerned. Roly HAD to get petrol yesterday, people were going crazy. When he joined the queue all the pumps were in use, and the back up was enormous. He waited ages to get filled up. His attitude is, if they do strike, and we run out of fuel, the car will stay where it is, and we will use shanks pony to get about.
The good lord provided us with two legs, and we should use them more often.

I hope everyone is well, and happy with this lovely weather. Dont get to used to it, as it's going to change by the weekend. ( yes mrs doom and gloom thats me)
Oh I forgot to tell you, I am going up to London on Saturday, for the Victoria meet. And I am looking forwards to it.
Take care, love Mo xxx

HI Ladies,

Just a quick look in before we go over to Jennie's. Hope you are all ok.

Yes, we will all certainly miss Jean. Hope we will all be able to keep in touch with you, so that we know how you and your family all are.

Ann, sorry not sure if you asked on here or Shaun's thread if I was having a rest from card making. Yes, I'm having a break for a while, I want to do some more family history research again, so will need a bit more time to do it. I might make the odd card or two, but not the amount I have been doing for a while. I had so many birthday cards to make for March, that I didn't even take photos of them.

Hope your daughter is getting over her treatment and feeling a lot better now.

Caz, glad to hear that your ankle is feeling a lot better. You must feel
so relieved that it has healed.

Mo, hope have a great time at the London meet tomorrow, enjoy yourself and take care.

How is your son doing? I hope by now that he's heard about an appointment at the hospital. I have asked about him, maybe a page or two back, but you missed my post. Anyway, I hope all goes well for him when he sees the Specialist.

Michael picked up some petrol on his way home from work last night, the chap at the garage told him that they had to call the police early yesterday because some of the customers were fighting over the empty gerry cans. Stupid lot!

Well we are going to keep Jennie company for a couple of hours now while Michael is in work. She has had another flare up this week so is now on Steroids, she's slowly getting better though, thank goodness.

Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi girls hope you are all ok, Sally it amuses me every time I see your daughters name, my daughter is Jenny but spelt that way and is her proper name not shortened. I haven't made any cards for ages but I have quite a few birthdays in May so better get cracking. I hope you are feeling a bit better by now, I feel so fed up and down don't know whats wrong with me.
My ankle is up and down, it's hurting last day or two so I am going to get it x-rayed beginning of next week.
I don't think Jean will stay away for long, she will look in to read then might rejoin. There are only a few of us originals left I think isn't there, nice to see all the old names here, but nice to see new names popping up.
Tea is ready so will see you all later.

Have a great time tomorrow Mo. :-D

Good evening girls,
Well what a lovely time we had at the meet in Victoria. It was so nice to see all the friendly faces from the last meet, and a nice new friend Carol with numbers as well.

Mt son has got his appointment to see the specialist, it's on May the 6th.
Quite a way off yet I know, he is talking about going back to work tomorrow, with the understanding that if he feels unwell he can go home again.
God willing if he does light duties he should be o.k, but he gets tired very quickly.

Oh Caz, PLEASE get that ankle sorted love, I dont like to think of you in so much pain.
It's not surprising that you don't feel up to making your cards, you have been pretty poorly just lately what with one thing or another.
Bless you sweetie,take care.

Hi there Sylvia, hows things over there. Whats your weather doing at the moment? The last we heard it was not to good was it.
After some lovely weather earlier in the week, today has turned very cold.
It was so cold waiting for the train this morning to go to the meet,I very nearly turned round and went home again. But I am glad I didn't.

I wish you lived a little closer Ann and Sallie, it would have been nice to have met you today as well.
But then with the way the petrol situation is, it's a long way by road isn't it.

Big ~~~~~~~~~~~ to Huia and Marie across the miles, just to let you know I am thinking of you both.

Nighty Night girls, god bless love Mo xxx

Hello girls. No this is not an April fool joke. I have been without the internet for over a week now. My old computer (which I had had for just 4 weeks! a refurbished one) gave up so I decided it was time to bite the bullet and buy a brand new one. Those table top tables I made for the previous one are no use for this as it is an all-in-one computer. I had to wait for a telephone modem to be made as I cant get broadband here and all the computers are made for bb only. Now I am finding my way around it and installing various websites. The people who had sold me the last computer are downloading the stuff off the harddrive for me, as my external hard drive turned out to be empty! :-0 At least I had a lot of the earlier stuff on CDs so was able to install a lot of photos, but all the negs I scanned last year I didnt have on CD so I hope they are one the old hard drive. The thought of having to scan all those negs again is horrifying. :-|

Huia.

Hello Huia,
Thank goodness you are o.k, we did miss you, you know. I am so glad you are now back online with us.
I remember your scanning all the negatives a while ago, what a nuisance if you do have to do all that hard work over again. It took you ages to do them didn't it.
I am still waiting for my laptop to come back from being repaired. They have had it for over a week now, and I am fed up of trying to cope with this one of my sons.
By the time I have finished typing, I am nearly boss eyed with it rolling all over the place.

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable weekend. Mine has been a lazy one, apart from going up to the meet yesterday, I have done nothing today, apart from cooking the dinner.

I am going to read some more of my book now, so I will say cheerio for now.
Love and best wishes to you all. Mo xxx

Hi huia, I wondered where you were, nice to see you back. I am going back to get my leg looked at Tuesday because my cleaners come tomorrow and I can't do with missing them, another day won't hurt. To be honest though I have an appointment for Thursday, x-ray first thing then see the doc at 11 so I might wait.
Mo I have a new computer, had it about six months but it's the thought of transfering all my stuff onto it that puts me off. I'll have to do it one day so don't know why I don't get on with it. I might ask my son when he comes over one day and has time.
I've been resting in bed all day and slept most of it and I am still tired so might go to bed early.
I only read when I'm in bed and then it's only a card magazine, I started a book yonks ago and only manage a page and a half before I am asleep, lol.

going for a cuppa then bed.

Huia what a pain, I do hope that you find your negatives on the hard disc.

Caz, you obviously need the sleep, or is it the medication making you sleep? Let's hope you can get that ankle sorted soon.

Mo, I am so jealous at you meeting Susan wiv, been wanting to meet her for ages now. Glad you had a good time at the meet. With petrol and parking it would be prohibitive to get to london by car and the rail fair from Gloucester, to say nothing of the service is awful. :-( :-(

Mo in Kent Report 2 Apr 2012 18:01

Ann, I was very lucky to get on the train that I did. The one prior to mine, was cancelled, and I think that half of Kent had decided to get on the one I wanted.
I had gone to the furthest end of our station platform, thinking that when I got to Victoria I would not have so far to walk, uhhhh NO, I could not get into the first six carriages when the doors opened, and no one was prepared to move to allow people to get on.
When I eventually found a door to go in, I had to stand for three stations, till I could get a seat.
It was absolutely heaving with people, and most of them were going up to London.
Carol's husband came with her, as she was nervous about the travel on her own, bless her.
Sorry Ann, it was not Susan with numbers, but Carol with numbers, my mistake. It's my age .

Caz, now the house is looking like a new pin, after the visit of your cleaner, you must get something done about your ankle, wether it be tomorrow or when you go on Thursday, please mention it to someone who can help you love.

Bye for now girls, love to you all, Mo xxx ;-)

YorkshireCaz Report 2 Apr 2012 18:42

Mo I am having it x-rayed on Thursday before I see the doctor, it's a bit like when you have toothache and book the dentist, the ache goes, mind you it's best to have it seen to. X-ray appointment is 9 o'clock
My cleaners come every Monday as I can't get to do it myself, theres two of them working together and spend half an hour here, it doesn't cost me much , I always feel good when they have gone.
Ann I take morphine tablets which make me sleepy so I can sleep any time, just close my eyes and I'm off.
Well I'm off now for my tea.

Cooeeee girls,
Yippeeee I have got my own laptop back at long last. They had to change the keyboard, and cleaned the memory up for me.
The only thing is, we asked them to check the battery, as it was not keeping charge, even if we had to a for a new one, but it doesn't appear that they have done that, so if I have problems again losing power to quickly, back it will go again.
As we are paying £7.99 a month insurance I need to have something done for my money. lol We have decided that we may stop the insurance, just wondered what everyones opinion on this please.

Has anyone got the dreaded snow yet? We haven't yet, but the sky is looking very heavy, so it could be snow up in the clouds.

Hi Girls,

Just a quick look in before I go to do the 'dreaded shopping'.lol!!

Mo, glad to hear that you have had your laptop back, it seems a while since you took it to be repaired, or it might be, that I have lost my sense of time.
We have never paid insurance on any of the laptops or PC's we have had over the years. Once we passed the guarentee, Alun sorts out any problems himself. It's a shame you aren't living near us, I'm sure he would be able to sort out any of your computer problems for you, too.

We had sleet this morning, but no snow thank goodness. It's very windy and cold with quite a lot of rain this afternoon. Just hope we don't get any snow.

Caz, good luck for tomorrow, hope all goes well at the hospital for you. Will be thinking about you.

Hope everyone else is OK. I'm sorry I haven't got time to speak now, but will look in again later on today.

Take care
.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo, Ah Carol with numbers, I thought it was starnge if it was Susan and she hadn't said anything to me. We never take out extra insurance for anything, over the years that has paid off, insurance is too expensive. Glad you ahve got your laptop back anyway.

Caz, hope all goes well with the Xray and it shows up what is causing the ongoing pain.

Hi all
xx

it has been a lovely sunny spring day today! It only got up to about 10C though, so still a little chilly, but I have had the patio door open most of the afternoon.

I had a physio appointment yesterday (3 weeks pass so quickly these days!!) ...... it was pouring with rain when I left the house at 11 am. And it was still raining very hard when I went into the physio's after having coffee across the street from him. It was drizzling when I came out at about 1:45 pm and went across the street to have lunch ................. and had stopped raining by the time I came out from lunch at almost 2:30 pm

I did some shopping, then caught the bus to go and meet OH for our regular afternoon coffee ............ and by that time the sun was shining!!

Weird!

But it also meant that a lot of new snow fell on the mountains to the north of the harbour! One of the ski slopes there got over 70 cm :-0. There are 4 ski areas on those mountains, and they are all less than about 15 minutes from downtown.

Take care everyone
