Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 2 Mar 2010 20:55

Good evening everyone.
Well I am back from my meal. It was very nice,I did not go overboard, only has scampi and chips, followed by caramel apple pie,and custard.
Nothing to spicey,as I did not want to start my I.B.S off again.
I would like to take the chance to wish Jean and J, a very happy anniversary for tommorrow. 53 years off marriage. Wow, thats staying power for you.
Have a lovely evening with your friends.
Ann, when we went out for our meal,I was surprised how many snowdrops there was,on the roadside. They looked really lovely.
Love to all. See you later. Mo xxx

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JEAN & J for tomorrow
xxxxx

Wow, 53 years!

Mo .... it is quite warm over here, got up to about 12C yesterday. The sun is trying to break through today, and it is almost 14C at about 1:15 pm here at the house.

Camellias and magnolias are in flower, so that means the rhodos won't be far behind.

The city is getting back to almost normal, but we do still have the Paralympic Games starting on March 12. Most of the Games events will be up in Whistler, so we have far fewer road closures etc. Everyone is hoping that the joyous street parties will re-occur.

I have to say ................ I keep having a little giggle as I scroll past that posting about 12x12 paper. I don't see the "paper" .................. and think you're talking about 12x12 as I know it ....................... pieces of wood!

Sylvia I have copied this from the wouldn't it be nice thread as I think you missed it. I posted it at about 14.40 yesterday our time.

Sylvia (Canada). Just been scanning some photos that I want to put in my scrap book and by so doing re-living our holiday to Canada in 1998. We spent a couple of days in Vancouver and have quite a few photos, of Grouse Mountain, Gas Town, Canada Place and Stanley Park. We stayed at the Georgia hotel, had a fire alarm go off in the middle of the night and the fire exits took us up onto the roof and across it!!!

Hello All,

Linda, Debbie is the one you need to speak to, I'm sure that she'll help you, as you said she's a very nice lady.
Hope you enjoy your holiday in Jersey and that you'll get some nice dry weather.

Mo, so pleased that you enjoyed your meal out--lovely to have a change from cooking.

Jean, Happy Anniversary to you and J, for tomorrow. Hope you both have a lovely day--also hope that D is alright.

Sylvia, hope you are feeling a lot better now. I'm sure that you're glad that things are getting back to normal there.

Liz, how did it go today? Hope it all went well!

Ann, sounds as though you and T had a nice day out, just the kind of thing that both Alun and I enjoy doing.

Love to you all, speak to you tomorrow.

Hi all, just a quick reply, and Happy Anniversary, 54th?, to our Jean and Jeff.

I got on well with the counsellor, a nice young woman perhaps 30?, from Edinburgh one of my favourite cities lol She only does Mondays at the mo so have to stick to that day but will only be a few bank hols over the next months and possible a holiday in June? but I think we can cope with the breaks. I will know more when I have seen her a few times and will keep you posted. Thanks for the thoughts anyway.

All best wishes to everyone who needs positive thoughts over the next few days, I have so much to catch up with so I might have to miss a few threads.

Take care all
love

Morning All, gosh, I only have a couple of days off and my services are required - it's so lovely to be needed. Thanks Mo for the PM, I'll contact Linda directly and give her a few hints. Wonder if she has ever been here before. Ann, I will also let you have details of the walk I tried to do last week in the mud.

All well in our household, but F-in-L very poorly now. His alzheimers has hit him hard over the last 2 weeks and he has deteriorated before our eyes. So sad it has been so quick. I won't dwell, as I know the subjuct matter is a difficult one, lest to say that the hospital are now just ensuring he is "comfortable" and have told the family they can't do anything more for him. He isn't in any pain, but there is no telling how much longer he will be with us. My hubby is obviously very upset, but we knew there was no outcome other than this, I jjust think it is hard when you actually get confirmed what you have been thinking for the last couple of weeks,.

Us 6 are all fine and dandy and loving the Spring like weather we are having. Like many of you our snowdrops are a wonderful sight. The daffodils look gorgeous as well. They line banks and woods and are so pretty to see around the place. So many wild varieties at the moment, and many different colours. Amazing to think that there can be so many different versions of the same flower.

The children grew Crocus' (not sure of plural there), at school and they have now finished in their pots, so we have planted them into the garden in the hope that they will grow next year. We already have a lot, so probably won't notice the difference, but the children will be happy.

I'll get back to Linda now and pop in here tomorrow. Busy in the house today then meeting an old friend for lunch, before the onslaught of Football and Brownies, and a rugby match to go and watch.

Love it really. LOL.

Take care everyone.

Morning Sallie and all, thought I'd let you know I have finished the cardie, with inches, yes inches of yarn to spare. Phew, at least I do not have to buy another ball at almost £18. I am coming to your town today Sallie to go to SpecSavers. And, because I do not want to look like Gok Wan, no disrespect meant here, I am taking my prescription down the street to the frame shop. Had a look in there last week and they sell Diedrie/ Blanche (Coronation St.) type frames, which suit me best. I have to wear glasses all the time, so it is like buying a winter coat to me, and part of my appearance. Hoping to go to the Bottle Kiln, for a spot of lunch, because I havn't been out for ages, and every time we drive past at the weekend, it is full to bursting.
Speak soon

Sorry - how rude of me to ignore the two main "characters" on this thread.

Belated Anniversary Wishes to Mo for the other day and Many Congratulations to Jean and J for today.

You are both amazing friends in cyberspace, and I value your thoughts and opinions on here.

Love to you both and anyone else celebrating Anniversaries.

I am so sorry to hear about your F.I.L Debbie. It is going to be a tough time for you all. Are the children very close to him,and do they understand
what has been happening to him.?
I have heard from Marie, and no doubt she will talk to us all soon. She is cancer free, thank the lord, and has to go back and see them again next year. I was so worried that I sent her an e.mail last night.
Liz, so pleased your counselling went well. It can only get better now love.
Onwards and upwards,as they say.
Sylvia how are you feeling today. Now it's warming up a little, you may feel better. Mind you,you are used to colder weather at this time off year arn't you.
I forgot about the paralympics starting. I am hoping that team G.B do better
this time around.
Sallie, how's Jennie doing. Is she coping with the injections now. Hope you and Alun are well. Did Alun and Richard enjoy the railway do they went to on Sunday.

Huia Report 3 Mar 2010 19:32

Belated congrats to Mo and Jean. I havent been concentrating too much on the threads lately when I have read them.

Debbie, my sympathies to your hubby. I think my son has mixed feelings about his dad's condition. It is so cruel to see somebody who used to be so active now a bare shell. Yesterday when I visited he had taken off his shirt and his arms were so thin, no muscle at all. When he tried to stand he was very shaky. I took his hands and tried to get him to walk but he could barely move his feet, and less than 7 months ago he had taken himself for a long walk lasting over 5 hours! Personally, I hope he doesnt last too long, much as I love him. It is just not him anymore.

Huia.
