Allan Report 9 Jun 2018 23:03

I knew who he/they are, but I had to Google the date :-D :-D

How ironic if I had penned the post on the correct date :-D

Alas, it was to be, or not to be...

Don't get me started on that again ;-) :-D :-D :-D

She stood on the bridge at midnight,
Her lips were all a quiver.
She gave a cough,
Her leg fell off and floated down the river.

Not sure why that suddenly came to mind....... :-S

Caroline

A singing Nun called Anna
Was caught in a flood in Havana.
As she floated away,
The other Nuns, so they say,
Accompanied her on the piana

Caroline Report 10 Jun 2018 11:41

:-D :-D :-D@Barbra ;-)

Caroline, the weather has been appalling all day. Went back to do an afternoon shift and left with 24 buns and a pack of sausages, which I paid for, to help defray the costs :-(

Will find out soon what we made or lost on the day:-(

It has been a long day, but win or lose, the day has been worth it :-D

Who knows Allan I used to fall asleep during English Lit classes....best sleep all week :-D :-D

Maybe you should be reading the Bible to get hints on building an Ark if it's raining heavy??

Kathryn

Kathryn Report 10 Jun 2018 19:24

Kathryn, how very strange! You must be psychic; I was just reading the following article about the Aussie accent in which the names used for swimwear in various Oz states occurred

https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/news-life/how-are-aussie-accents-really-formed/news-story/0380bc4f1adf82f6acffd40589706bbe

Whilst Budgie Smugglers don't appear (in the literary sense, not the physical sense) nevertheless the term is more than closely associated with our ex-prime Minister Tony Abbot who, like Mr Putin, is somewhat of an action man :-D :-D

Caroline, what an experience you have missed, not to be bored by some of the greatest writers ever :-0 ;-)

As for an Ark, aren't we already living on Planet Ark?

Incidentally, if I ever return to the UK I would, no doubt, be accused of speaking with a thick Aussie accent, whereas here I'm accused of speaking with a broad Lancastrian accent :-S

Isn't life funny :-D :-D :-D

Barbra

Barbra Report 10 Jun 2018 23:03

There is nowt wrong with a Lancashire accent if you came back to England though you would not recognize your old haunts x right my last post I wish you all the best Take Care .I will miss you ;-) <3 :-D Barbara xx

Don't worry Allan I revisited the greats...and found my English Lit teacher was hopeless as most of the stuff he presented to us was in fact quite good :-D :-D
