Hi everyone.
I have been lucky and have never had a migraine.Fingers crossed Lizzie for you.
Christine poor you with FM.You mention Tinnitus again. It made me realise since my Hot flushes have diminished I haven't noticed the tinnitus so much.Especially at night.Although I know it is still there.Mmm Interesting !.
I do get stabbing joint pains, mainly my right thumb and left big toe lol.I know the toe is Arthritic.I can't wear heels as I can't bend the toe.Which is a shame as there are some fabulous shoes out there.
It's great this thread is still going even if it has slowed down.

Hello Christine .... So it's been quiet has it lol I've been away working in Germany and really enjoyed it thank you. The weather was great and we spent a lot of our free time cycling. There are lots of cycle trails in the Black Forest and it was fantastic. Now it's back to reality lol
Sorry to hear you haven't been so good. Hope you now receive the kind consideration you deserve and also the right treatment too.

I'm still here lol.Sorry about your poor back Lorraine.I'm glad it is easier now.
We have had the first bit of decent rain this afternoon.Tonight will be the first time in weeks that we don't need to water the garden.Everything is looking a lot perkier now.
I haven't had spots for years and now I have 3 !!!!!!!.Am I turning back into a teenager??.I must keep my fingers off them, but ooh it is so tempting.

Hi Christine, I've never heard about toothpaste for spots before. Like you, I've been lucky, but they are a curse.... No matter what your age.
I've been busy with work. A friend is waiting for a hysterectomy and I'm filling in for her. The work is mainly in Germany - so lots of coming and going lol
Andrew has moaned about it a bit - but let him lol. We need the money as our house needs a lot of work . We've just had to replace the roof.
Lorraine - He sacked those builders lol and the new ones have more or less finished. It's been a nightmare. To cap it, the cat climbed up the scaffold today and fell down the chimney. He's ok though lol Oh yes, a few days ago our gate was stolen ...... Will it never end lol

Jane Report 12 Aug 2010 22:10

I was lucky really as a teen not to have many spots.I had one though that I will never forget. It was like a 'blind boil' right on the end of my nose!!!!!.Red and hard.Dad called me Rudolph!! how cruel was that.It last so long that I was put on the list at the hospital to have it lanced or something. But before I got an appointment it came to a head ,and I gave it a good squeeze.I won't describe the muck lol.It cleared up and I forgot all about it.I then went to work in Greece ,and while I was there I had a letter from my parents to say the appointment had come through from the hospital lol. This was several months later.Thankfully it never came back.

Good Morning Everyone

I thought I was an early bird Christine - but you beat me to it lol
I woke up to go to the loo in the night and when returning to bed, managed to knock my head on the wall as I pulled down my pillow to get comfy. Did it hurt lol Seems ok today though lol.

Christine,
Our gate was stolen by a group of teenagers who had been to a party. They were drunk and went on a rampage, setting fire to a wheelie bin, vandalising a telephone box etc. The police have taken a statement - will see what happens lol
Our roof will probably be completed next week Christine. Our cat keeps looking at the fireplace in a very strange way lol How's your little cat ?

Jane,
Poor you about that boil. My grandmother had a carbuncle come up on her arm - that was really horrid for her. Very large and very painful.

Has anyone enjoyed a nice holiday this summer or off somewhere nice. The only place I will be going is in my dreams lol.

I'm going to do some of my tree today. Just wish I had more time to spare to do it. I could easily become addicted to it - like Lorraine is lol

If you live in GB you can get in touch with the Social services, and as a disabled person you are entitled to help. I had a bath seat free before we had the shower. It never hurts to ask.

Lol Lizzie ....''Windowsill Bay''..... That's really funny
Poor you for having acne for so long - what a curse. I've a friend who was plagued with spots and then she was prescribed Retinol A or something that sounds similar lol. It dried her spots up and also her mouth and she could hardly talk as it felt so sore. At one point she became a bit reclusive because of her appearance, but she's fine now.

Lorraine, It depends on 'how long'' I'm in a place as to whether I get to see much of it lol. I'm off again in a couple of weeks for a week and so hope to do a bit of cycling through the forest. I was lucky to do this a little earlier in the year. Germany is great for music as the arts tend to be well supported. The economy seems to be a bit more bouyant at the moment. Lots of concerts have been cancelled in this country this year because of the recession !!!

Hello everyone.
My sister has a bread maker and thinks it is one of the best things she has ever bought.Even her OH uses it.
Last night almost as the light had gone I spotted 2 Barn Owls on the top of the dead tree. They were huge.I saw one a week or so ago but didn't know they went in pairs like that.It was amazing to see them.
Well I'm afraid I have picked the spot by the corner of my mouth.I just couldn't help it.lol Trouble is it now looks a mess, and tomorrow I am off to have a little electrolysis on my chin and top lip.The lady will know I have had a go !!!
Naughty girl aren't I .

The department of the concil we use may be funded by the Welsh Assembly, I dont know. I contact the Enabling People division and they come to the house and take your details and ask what you need done, Some things they can do quickly, others take longer. Had a small wash basin installed in the toilet, which is separate from the bathroom. This was for hygeine purposes as we both have bowel problems and I can be incontinent sometimes. I t makes it much easier to cope. We had grab rails in the toilet to help with getting up too. They would have provided help to get out of bed, but the available gadgets were all for single beds, so we didnt opt for those. This is all done to keep you out of more expensive care homes. My sister, who owns her own house but has a low income, was given a walk-in shower and her bath removed. May be we are better off in Wales.

I had the offer many many years ago to go up in a balloon.I was a nanny and visitors staying came with theirs .I just didn't have the nerve and opted to be in the chaser car.I seem to remember them having a radio to track their course, and haring along country lanes in the back of this open top car.It was great fun.My friend and her Hubby went up for his 70th birthday last year. They loved it.

My friend Fitz who lives down the lane booked a helicopter flight for his wife's 40th.It landed in the back field behind their house ,and he had to persuade her to get dressed as there was a 'surprise' waiting. She hadn't even heard it lol.
I wish I had the nerve to try something like that, but I think I will just stick to planes (even that is bad enough).

My sister works for social services in Cheltenham as an (I think) an OT assistant. She goes out to peoples houses to assess their needs eg baths ,ramps, rails etc.She has been really impressed with the amount of help people are given by Glos Social Services.
