Morning ladies

It's really beautiful here today weather wise, really glorious.

Hope everyone is well and got the good weather too.

Going to a wedding on the 13th of June, haven't a clue what to wear, am leaving it a bit late I know, but am at a funny age with dresses etc. I don't want to wear anything too dowdy as I do look okay when done up, bit don't want anything to 'youngish' as I don't want to look like mutton...wish I'd never been invited! Now that's a sign of old age!! As to be honest me and hubby would sooner just stay at home or go out on the river.

AB hope that you're well over that nasty business with neighbour, aren't people a pain in the arse!

Anyway will pop back later and I hope you all have a lovely day!

Pam.xx

Good Morning Pam

Yes I know what you mean about outfits. I had a lovely chiffon dress with a plain jacket a few years ago, thought it was grand, tried it on the other day and I looked like someone's grandmother. Well yes I am a proxy grandmother by marriage but it does not mean I have to look like one! LOL

I now feel I never look "pretty" which is quite depressing! Oh well, I hope you find a lovely outfit to wear, weddings are very casual these days, not like they used to be. I was always excited about being invited to a wedding years ago, it meant a new hat! lol

Morning Ladies,
Happy Bank Holiday to you all.I only seem to wear a dress/skirt for a wedding, and just wear trousers.I'm just so pleased wedding invites are far and few between these days.
My daughter just heard this morning that she has an interview as Addenbrooks on thursday. That was brilliant news. The bad news is that she now can't go on holiday to Ibiza on Monday with her friends. She really needs a break, but she says it it just so important that she doesn't miss the chance of getting this post.Poor girl I feel so sorry for her.She has worked so hard in a very difficult job and was really looking forward to chilling for a few days.

Right popping off to Tes** BBL.

Morning all
yes got the same problem with the upper arms, mostly wear blouses with short(t shirt lenth) or 3/4 lenth sleves,
Last year at daughter's wedding was a bit of a problem, she got married aboard so I didn't want something to heavy, it was in may so would be around 23/24 degrees,

so I bought a strappy dress and a long sleved matching Jacket in Lilac was in a lacey material so covered up the arms but I was able to take the jacket off in the evening.

Italian weddings are very low key, ladies don't wear hats or cosarges
only the men in the bridal party wear flowers, infact a lot of the young couples, came in Jeans clean & tidy jeans mind you.
I felt it was a strange wedding only because it was very different from our tranditional one.

LOL AC - "all week ironing out wrinkles of birthday suit" ! I like it.

No such thing as weeds - its a plant in the wrong place!

EDIT: Sorry meant to say, well done Jane about your daughter 's interview, but, has your daughter told them that she has a holiday booked and could they possible interview her on another day? If not then I would let them know that she had cancelled her holiday to have the interview - it may give her some "brownie points". (It would certainly show committment at any rate). Tina xx

Afetrnoon girls

Phew it's been a warm afternoon here and looks set to be a scorcher tomorrow too!

I've got a dress sorted for the wedding I think, it's a white dress with flowers on it, I'll wear a cotton shrug with it to cover my arms and to pin my corsage on. My arms arem't to bad actually but I'll cover them as the dress has quite narrow straps. My daughter says I look good and daughters are 'very honest'! So glad i've got that sorted...won't worry about a hat as we're not family and as i'm only 5ft I tend to look like a mushroom!! So will wear my killer heels!

Good news about your daughter Jane. ☺

Back later,

Pam.

Hi all ,thats me done weeding and planting ,my fingers are sooooooooooo big now lol.
Tina my daughter says that there is no way they would change her interview as there is a panel of about 5 Profs Consultants etc ,so they wouldn't faf around for her. There would be plenty more hopefuls to pick from. She is going to make sure that they know she has missed her hols. She said she hopes she doesn't cry lol.She shed a couple this morning.I'm very proud of her for being so determined. If it was me I'd be off on my holidays LOL.

Pam your outfit sounds lovely.I don't do hats either.I did wear one to my nieces wedding and everytime I see a photo it makes me cringe lol.I did have some lovely shoes but ended up taking them off as the heels kept sinking in the lawn at the reception. It was at Sudley Castle,a beautiful setting.

Hi Pam
your outfit sounds great, Hope you have a great day, yes daughter's are very honest, too honest at times, my daughter no 1 must have at least over 90pairs of shoes, every colour of the rainbow, but she takes a size 5 shoe and can wear 5" heels, and they never seem to bother her, I'm a rotten size 2. went looking for a pair of slip on's just for the summer unfortunately thats what they did slipped on and off as I walked around the shop, childrens size 2's are to tight for me.

Jane, bless her, I must admit the thought of an interview terrifies me. I never was any good at interviews, as my brain would just shut down and make me look a complete twit! lol

I wish her all the very best, she can have holidays any time I suppose. Lets hope she can have a Celebration holiday later on.

Pam, your dress does sound wonderful. Is it big flowers on the dress or small ones? And the colour of the flowers - multi or one colour?

Fiona - size 2 shoe - gosh that is tiny, my best friend had size 3 and a half and that was a nightmare getting shoes for her.

Helen, we worked at Sudeley Castle for 6months in the 1960's, for the present owners Grandmother. She was vry nice, but her land agent was not, and after beiang told that I had to buy my own cleaning materials to clean the chapel, and take the money out of any takings left in the collection box, we decided to give that job the elbow. Loveoy place though. We lived in the gate house.
Hope your daughter gets her job. What a great hospital to work at.

Jane

Jane Report 23 May 2009 19:42

I managed to get 5 loads of washing done today - caught up with most of it, have not done any washing with all the rain about, I like to dry my washing on the line outside - dont like tumble dryers very much, even though washing machine is a washer dryer.

I was pegging up me drawers and wondered how many I had washed today, as they appeared to be going on and on lol - seventeen pairs yes 17 - how shocking is that lololol and that was not all of them, that was just me whites! Did not realise I had not done washing for that amount of time - makes me look a right slovenly mare! pmsl

I did wonder where they had all gone to from my drawer yesterday! Well at least I know I'm covered for the next 17 plus days LOLOL

Sudley Castle is not far from where I live - 55 miles. Never been there - have just looked on their website, and notice they have a lacemaking exhibition in June, would not mind going to see that.
