Yes I do have long hair - well I did up until yesterday when I did a home "trim" took about 8 inches off, its now shoulder length!

By the way, be very careful how you lie down on those sinks, they can cause strokes, I believe. I would never lay back on a sink always bend over.

Yes, lots of articles about it if you google.

Here is one

Hairdresser Hazard -- Stroke!

On September 20, 1997 the venerable British medical journal The Lancet carried a warning of a danger at the hairdressers'. That danger is of a stroke.

This danger was illustrated in The Lancet by a case report of a 42-year-old woman by Drs. N Nwokolo and DE Bateman from Bath, England. The woman went to the hairdressers'. While her hair was being washed, her head was extended backwards for about five minutes. After she left the beauty salon she had trouble walking, but drove home . The next day she had numbness of the face and left arm and slurred speech. She had suffered a stroke.

The stroke was due to dissection of her right internal carotid artery. The carotid artery is the large artery in the front side of the neck that supplies vital blood and oxygen to the brain. The lining of this key vessel had torn away (dissection) and impeded blood flow.

She was treated with anticoagulants and made a good, but not a complete, recovery. Six months after the stroke she still had some residual weakness in her left arm and hand.

Hairdressers often wash their customers' hair with the neck stretched so that the head is back over the sink. This keeps the soap out of their clients' eyes and water from cascading down their backs. The hazard of stroke comes from over extension of the neck which can cause dissection of the carotid or vertebral arteries in the front and back of the neck. Drs. Nwokolo and Bateman logically recommend that the neck not be overextended and that a cushion be used with the chair to help avoid this hazardous position.

Well I am pleased to say that I will be getting paid for this week, which is very good news, there was some doubt as I am only bank staff.

I have enough of my own housework to do, not that I am house proud, although since have the living room finished I do keep that quite tidy. Its just the rest of the house......

Anybody heard from Pam? I hope she is out celebrating her birthday.

Well I once had a customer ring up the shop I used to be a telephonist at, who worked for one of our local radio stations, to say what a stunning voice I had. Sexy I think the word was he used. I laughed and said if you met me you would be very disappointed indeed, as the voice did not match the figure, I am no Betty Boob more like Hattie Jacques!
