OH came back yesterday afternoon. We immediately went out for coffee.

Then I sat in the coffee shop while OH went to do the weekly shop. We came home, put the stuff away. Then went out for a meal at our local Japanese place.

Then we slipped up to one of the malls so I could get some choccies, and OH picked up a couple of items that he couldn't get at our grocery store.

I was tired out by that time, and feeling really chesty again.

Obviously, I still have the effects of the cold and cough!

I do have a doctor's appointment on Thursday for new prescriptions, so I'll check with her then.


He had a good time on the Island, and a lovely dinner with our friends. he said they didn't stop talking for 3 hours!!


Sallie .... you asked abou MJ. He's doing well ..... although they are currently all taking it in turns to bring coughs and colds home, and then sharing with the others. No sooner have they recovered from one, than they get another one.

I do feel sorry for them ...... J has been hoarse or snuffly each time I've talked to her for the last 3 weeks!!




Today (Sunday) is Mother's Day in Canada, US, Australia, NZ, and lots of other coutnries.

J contacted OH and got him to buy me a bouquet of flowers yesterday because she had been too sick and too busy to do it :)))

My mum always said she had a perfectly good day of her own (her birthday) and she didnt want us loving her to order. I have never gone in for it either. It is such a commercial thing, getting people to buy presents.

The boards are very addictive at present, but it is time I started to think about bed now. Not that I know why. I went to bed about 10.30 last night, yawning my head off. Up an hour later as I couldnt sleep, read a while, back to bed, up again, back again. Finally at 3.30 I gave in and took half a sleeping pill. I am trying to come off them. I now take them less often than I dont take them, if you know what I mean. The previous night I slept well without one. I had hoped to do the same last night. We will have to see how tonight goes without one.

Tomorrow at 3.30 pm I have the jab in my finger so I might not be on when you get up tomorrow morning. I just hope I feel fine enough afterwards to drive home, otherwise I will stay the night at the motel over the road from the Super Clinic.

Have fun, everybody, dont do anything I wouldnt. On the other hand dont do some of the things that I would!

Yea! I've done it, got my little constant companion on, had to use my own pic as I couldn't find the others like Huia has used. I'm usually useless with the computer at doing things so quite pleased with myself.

Ann, thank you for letting us know how to put our pictures on the thread. They look a lot better than what GR put at the side. As you know, we are not very good photographers, so I had to use an old photo.




Caz pleased to see that you have been able to put a picture on here.

Like you I had to use my own picture, it's me and my brother, taken in the garden of my late uncle's house in Manchester.

I love the photo of your constant companion. What's his name and does he talk? Of course that's if they actually do talk.

Hope you are feeling a bit better and more comfortable today.






Jean, well done on adding your picture off avator. I don't know how to get into that, or for that matter I don't know what avator is. lolol!!

Huia, if you can find anymore photos of trains, Alun will always be interested to see them...it's always nice to see trains from other parts of the world.

Hi Sallie he is called Cocky because he is, thinks he rules the house. He does talk and uses sentences in the right context, like when the district nurse gets her coat on he says* going now*, his favourite is what are you doing and where are you going if he sees me doing anything or going out of the room. I cry sometimes with laughing at the things he says, yesterday he came out with "beautiful oogy boogy boy", oh is always saying oogy boogy to him. He has a huge vocabulary, too many to put on here. he is four now but a baby when the photo was taken.

Thanks Ann. As you can see I've now changed my picture...it's of Jennie and Michael's dog, Jay. It was a bit late last night to go through all the pictures we have, so just chose the other photo quickly.



Caz, I would love to to see and hear Cocky. I'm sure he brightens up some of your days quite a lot.

We have two budgies, but regretfully neither of them talk, they chirp quite a lot, and they also imitate the cuckoo on our clock. So we now have two budgies that say cuckoo.lol!!

Just a quickie to let you know that I am still sweating and swearing.
Good to see all the lovely pics on here, a butterfly, a dog and cocky-too.
And our Jean's Chat line. Actually that sounds very much like this place.lol

Huia, I do hope you get a better nights sleep. And whats this about a jab in your finger, whats it for love. You have probably told us, but you know how forgetful I can be a times.
You say don't do anything you wouldn't do, weeeell that leaves us a lot of scope, you are a real little devil, with some of the things you get up to, ie, chasing rats around the house at night, and going hiking on your own.
I will try and be good, as long as I remember the date, I should be o.k.

So Sylvia, the peace has been shattered now has it, with your OH being home.
Great to hear he had a good time though, just a pity you were not up to scratch to have accompanied him.
Make sure you get the doctor to check you over on Thursday, this has gone on for far to long.

I hope that Sylvia, Huia and Marie have all had a lovely mothers day. Congratulations to you all.

I haven't heard a thing about my grandaughter Sallie, so I can only hope and pray that all is well.
When the baby is here, I am sure we will hear about it. Our grandaughter is a strange girl, and doesn't even confide in her own mum about things, so the child could be five years old before she tells her mum she's given birth. LOL

Sally, I was puzzled when you said your pic was you and your brother as it looked like a dog. This is the only problem with being able to change our avatars, if we read an older posting it doesnt make sense! Ah well, I suppose we will get used to it, but please dont change them too often.

Mo, it is a cortisone injection for trigger finger. I was going to have it a few weeks ago but the day before I didnt think I would be well enough to drive there, so I rang and asked for a change of appointment.

I slept well again last night without the sleeping pill, so am happy about that. If only I could always get to sleep that easily.

Re my avatar, when somebody made several of those pics for me, I saved them to a folder in "My Pictures", so it is just a matter of using them like the photos. I have also saved a lot of other pics that people have used on another website, or in emails.

it's Mother's Day here, as well as in a number of other coutnries.

J phoned, so we had a nice little chat.

She said her Mother's Day present was M babysitting MJ while she went to an Ikebana class (that's Japanese floral design).

Huia, sorry to confuse you, only we couldn't find the photo of Jay last night, so decided to change it today when we found it.


I thought to change my pcture again in a few weeks with one of Quif, Richard and Christie's guinea pig.

Alun had put some photos on a different folder, including the one of Jay and Quif.


Pleased that you were able to get to sleep last night without the tablet, hope it continues that way for you.
