Evening Waffling Wattlers . . . Well we had a sunny but cooler day her today, those giraffes are pretty idle, had 9 heads skywards today, the breeze I will call a wind, as I'm sure did those nuts on the kiteboards. hello everyone I'm here all by my lonesome. OH still in Melbourne and daughter has gone on a music camp to Western Queensland. (Mitchell, Charleville, Quilpie) They are performing at the Anzac Day Ceremony in Mitchell tomorrow and doing performances and work shops at various Western schools. However - she had to be at school at 600am and I was terrified we'd oversleep so I set the alarm clock, she set the alarm on her mobile phone and just to make sure ....I got a Telstra wake up call! Yes we did wake up in time! Got to school, unloaded the suitcase, 4 X2litre bottles of water which they each had to bring, hand luggage, flute, music and loaded her into lthe bus and waved goodbye. When I got home I found all her sleeping gear on the back seat - air mattress, sleeping bag etc. I am distraught - don't know what she's going to sleep on for the next 3 nights. How stupid are both mother and daughter to forget the sleeping bag!! Went mad and had a beautiful curry Dad's Pie for tea - yum! Settlement on son's house happened today - thank goodness it's all over. I'm bearing the scars from the big clean up - managed to burn my hand when I was cleaning the oven, scratch my arm on a rose bush when I was weeding the garden, ram a splinter under my finger nail when I was picking up rubbish and there is skin off in various places for which I have no explanation! This old duck is pluddy exhausted - will sleep the sleep of the righteous tonight! I am so jealous of you all going to Yarrawonga. Hope you have a fabulous time. Popping over to Paris for the day sounds so blase! I loved Edinburgh - the Edinburgh Fesitival and the Military Tattoo were on whilst we were there in 2000 and we enjoyed both. Didn't get to the underground city though - it sounds fascinating. Sorry to hear about your daughter - my eldest son was in a relationship for 5 years and the girl who I loved dearly met someone else. Son was absolutely devestated - I was really worried about him and I felt a real sense of loss also. Funny thing was that later when my son was diagnosed with cancer, she was there for him as a friend and was so supportive. After David's death, she eventually married the other guy (at Dalkeith in Scotland) and I still keep in touch with her. And the really crazy thing is that when I got the book from our family reunion, I discovered that her husband and I are descended from the some great great grandparents!! The David Hack Classic Meet, a showcase for classic cars and planes which Toowoomba North Rotary Club organize each year in memory of my son with proceeds going to the Leukaemia Foundation and Blue Nurses is on this weekend at the Toowoomba Airport so that is where I will be on Sunday. Dear MacRare ribs Farkles: They are native to Scotland - they have 1 short front leg and two longer back legs so that they can climb around the mountain slopes easily. You catch them with a farkling stick - something like a shepherd's crook. Surprised Reb that you haven't heard of them. XX Anna
