Guys, .......... at least, those of us left at home to look after the Wattle site! Could some kind person with Ancestry look up for me in the 1841 Census, a William & Elizabeth Heaven in the Gloucester area please (probably a town called Uley, but maybe not) - their son James 16 at the time, was working elsewhere as an apprentice wheelwright. and I dont know what other children there were in the family. Since James was born in 1824 in Uley, Glos, I guess his parents could have been born around the 1800-1802 mark, making them approx 41 yo? Merky buckets (as my daughter says) Jood

Hi All Have a great weekend all that are going to Lara's. Laurie, yes red heads are a class of their own, you have to love them. David and myself can visualise Dannielle when she has grown up and got married or has a boyfriend, we can see when she gets in one of her moods it will be a stance with one hand on the hips and the other waving at him with pointed finger saying 'I told you to .......' lol. All jokes aside I wouldnt change anything about her. David often torments her and tells her he can see her devil horns poking out of her head pmsl. I have put a pic on ASL site in my Convict Bricks album. Shazz, yes you are right, with the bad news about the miners, one body found and still looking for the other two miners, and tomorrow (28 April) is the 10 year anniversary of Port Arthur shootings. There has been many stories in the paper over the last week some from people who was there with some going to the memorial, while others still cant face going there. Cheers Sue

Good morning to all Cinderella Wattlers. I want to go to the ball too. Boo hoo. Where is your fairy godmother when you need them. Seriously, I hope you all have a wonderful and memorable weekend and don't forget, we want lots of photos. I am in the middle of the most boring job. Neville brought an old book home and I am scanning it into the computer for him. All 150 pages. The things we do for love. I am trying to work out a suitable payment. I Might just keep it for when I might need it. I have been very busy this week sorting out all my filing. So for I have got all the census forms colour coded into the diferent branches of the families. Ofcourse, now that I have ben distracted it will be hard to get back into it. At least it will keep me out of mischief. Lew, It's good to hear that you are coming to the Brisbane meet. How many are bringing their husbands. I might let Neville come, I was going to let him go off to do some thing else. Tony, I think I must have missed something, I couldn't find what had happened to your daughter. I hope that things have sorted themselves out now, what ever it was. Devly, it will be a very sad day in Tassie today, as it is in many parts of Australia. I think it is important that we remember those poor souls who died at the hand of such a troubled young man. We are all also hoping for a good outcome for the two miners, but I don't think there will be much hope left now. I also feel for the widow of the soldier private Kovco. I find it quite appalling that such a thing could happen, and now we hear that his death was not as first informed. Sorry to sound so depressing, but we can't ignore them. On a lighter note, the weather is perfect, I love Autumn and Spring, although we don't have all the leaves changing colour and falling, we also don't have to rake them all up. Tomorrow we take the dog for her yearly injections and then we are going to go for a run out and take our lunch. Looking forward to that. Well, I must get on with my scanning, before this turns into a novel Catch up later SuzyQ

Bloody Norah! They've all gone stark raving mad. Is it a full moon over there? Looks like they're having fun anyway! All too rarely, airline attendants make an effort to make the flight 'safety lecture' and announcements a bit more entertaining. Here are some real examples that have been heard or reported: 1. On a Southwest flight (SW has no assigned seating, you just sit where you want) passengers were apparently having a hard time choosing, when a flight attendant announced, 'People, people we're not picking out furniture here, find a seat and get in it!' 2. On a Continential flight with a very 'senior' flight attendant crew, the pilot said, 'Ladies and gentlemen, we've reached cruising altitude and will be turning down the cabin lights. This is for your comfort and to enhance the appearance of your flight attendants.' 3. On landing, the stewardess said, 'Please be sure to take all of your belongings. If you're going to leave anything, please make sure it's something we'd like to have!' :-))))) Have a great day. Lew Lew xxx

Morning Wattlers well those up and about lol Popped in a few times yesterday to catch up on the thread but spent most of the day scrolling 1841, had enuff for the moment. Found a few rellies, but need a break from copperlate writing, plus mis transcribing by ancestry is doing my head in. We are heading off to y'wonga in the morning. Will probably hear the chatting from 5km out - lol. It 'ill be easier to find Lara's just follow the noise. Its a shame we couldn't have found someone with a webcam - those that can't get there could have watched us with the picture being updated every 1/2 hr. It would be like being on big brother.lol Well best do some work catch you later jude

Morning All, well those of us who are staying home, I guess everyone else has left for Yarra by now...pppppp Lew Lew, haven't you ever listened to what the hosties say on Virgin Blue flights? My daughter comes home with some really funny ones. 'if you would like to arrive at the terminal before the plane please stand before the seatbelt sign is turned off' 'be careful opening the overhead lockers as things may have moved during flight, that is unless your neighbour has annoyed you during the trip' 'no smoking toilets have been fitted with security cameras ' On long trips the crew have competitions to see who can fit certain words into their speach on the mike, aven the pilots play. Ihave seen photos where the girls have done the service wearing their pjs on a night flight to Perth. They have a great time. Off for some retail therepy with heartbroken daughter....I can hear the credit card crying already...lol See you all later Jude2
