Morning Wattlers Well I have been up early this morning, but not a s early as Rebs. I, like many others am watching sunrise, for updates on the 2 miners trapped. So fingers crossed everyone, although they are alive, they still have a big task to get them out alive. LB I may have missed you, and Im sorry that someone was not real nice to you, they need a big talking to. I see you mentioned that the Forever Hunting person helped you. I dont know if anyone else had contact with that person, but to me they seemed a bit slow, and didnt seem to be quite with it. Anyway had better get school lunches ready will be back later. Cheers Sue

Morning All. And a special good morning for the Tassie Miners. Hope they see the light of day soon. Overcast here this morning and it's trying very hard to rain. The earthmovers are here this morning shifting dirt all over the place and replacing all of the original topsoil. One of those bobcats would be handy to have! 60 sleeps. Lew Lew :-)

Goodmorning Wattlers from a glorious day on Botany Bay, The sun is shinning brightly, with just a few fluffy white clouds - but it is very still out there, just noticed a kids balloon drifting, and it isn't moving very fast at all. There are four giraffes sunning themselves - planes coming and going, tomorrow morning Ray will be on one of them bound for Jakarta then Vegas. The beachcomber tractor is out clearing up after the weekend, though I doubt there would have been many out there considering the weather. I like to go for a walk after the tractor has been along and be the first footprints for the day. Got the lovely Ray off to work - can't contemplate a lazy one for myself, got his packing to do and some shopping for friends in Jakarta to get done. As always the shopping list consists of : Womens magazines, childrens books, vitamin pills, flouride tabs for kids, cheese, cherryripes, steak, and two dozen KrispyKreems from the aiport in the morning. Lew, Heather, Gwenda, Jude, Julie, Sue, and anyone else I missed - pm me your email addy and I will send you the photos I have from the weekend. Well must go deal with the mountain of mail as the washing is whopping away - will talk later I suppose most will have tellie or radio on all day waiting for the good news of the rescue of the guys in Tassie - Oh the emotional rollercoaster for those families! Bless em' all cheers luv Laurie

Hello to all, Well, what a nice party we had ! Lara you're a real gem to organise the rabble so well, we had such a fabulous time meeting everyone, it was a real treat for us to have a sleep-in the next morning too. I declare that you're all the nicest bunch of folk you could ever meet. Tony and Barb ( B - hope you are feeling better now), thank you so much for the discs and sharing your knowledge. I am in awe of Lauries laptop !! Don't know who made the quince jelly but Thank You, I love it melting over a crumpet for breakfast (ooooh that doesn't sound right lol......).Shazz, we had a lovely chat to your other half watching the speedboat races from the bridge, hope you enjoy a nice week off despite the inclement weather this week. Actually we didn't meet any rain until driving back home through Howlong, apparantly it rained all Sat night in Albury, but we were able to be out on Lara's gorgeous deck all night in Yarrawonga. Mike is a very skilled bloke to be able to do that wonderful brickwork, next summer you won't know yourself Lara, floating about on the lilo !! Judy YV3 you are the life of the party.... my OH can't get over the common interest in Spyders !! Well I can't go on and on, real life awaits, but I can say that if you are just not sure about coming to a GR meet, then give it a go, you will be pleased you did. Have a lovely week everyone, Heather in Albury P.S. All power and strength to the resuce effort in Tassie, slow and steady will get them out of there, what a big effort.

Great news on the miners, hope they get them out soon. Not sure wether that' lady' meant what she said about us ( what do you think) only joking we hope????? Quiet day today I think, am full of a cold so don't feel up to much. Have a nice day all Sandra in the Gong.

Anna Report 1 May 2006 03:21

It's officially afternoon- Labour Day holiday here today so long weekend. Great to hear all the news about the meet up - it must have been terrific. Those of us who couldn't get there feel like the bird on the side of the biscuit tin - on the outside looking in!! Thanks for the photos Laurie - they are great. Oh dear - I've upset Lady Bounti - whatsit!! Didn't think she'd notice my comment about her being an old lush - but she was right onto it. Shame she lives in Chelsea or I could extend the olive branch and offer to meet her for a cup of English tea or a glass of sherry as that seems to be what she gets stuck into. Sorry Lady B - sorry for calling you an old lush - I have no idea what your age is. What wonderful news about the miners in Tassy. I shudder to think what they are going through emotionally and their poor families - it must be so stressful for them. As they said on TV - the difficulty in reaching them safely cannot be underestimated so here's hoping that all goes well. I remember watching the live coverage when they were trying to retrieve Stuart from the landslide in the snowy. I think everyone was glued to their screens. Let's hope the outcome is just as positive. Off to do a bit of gardening - it may have poured down on the David Hack Classic Meet but at least we got 16mls of rain out of it. My poor plants live again. Cheers to all Anna

Boy, Anna, you certainly did get up Ms Bountithingy's nose, lol. Anyway, she sounded like an imposter! I actually have the butler named Jeeves, so I don't know who her's is!!!! Sorry that it rained on David's parade, so to speak, but I'm sure he'd have understood how desparate we all are for rain. It has just actually started to sprinkle (ever so lightly) here in Mudgee. Keep your fingers crossed. Sounds like the Wonga team had a marvy time. Can't wait for the Brissie Meet!! Hope you all have a great afternoon. Lew Lew xxx

Hello Wattlers How are the party lot today..........not too much of a headache? Glad you had such a good time..........no I'm not! I'm upset........you left us here all alone and we had to entertain some really old farts who got upset easily....huumph! Anywaaay..... fantastic news about the miners in Tassie. May all the gods smile upon the resquers and their efforts. It's just a pity some of the news media couldn't be more thoughtful for the rels. I watched one channel last night and the 'anchor man' kept hounding the reporter to ask the rels about their reactions etc when they heard the news the miners were alive. Gutter journalism.....in my opinion. But then again the particular 'anchor man' has always been like that. Hi Sandra.......how's the cold? Keep taking lots of fluids and get plenty of rest. No good pushing yourself. Healing <<<hugs>>> winging thier way to you. Hi Anna........did the Meet yesterday raise a good amount ? Told Graeme all about it and we think we would like to go to it next year. Graeme has a day off tomorrow and as he hasn't expired with his cold I have started a job list for him. My favourite nephew (otherwise known as FN) has an old cast iron bath he doesn't need so he is giving it to us. I thought a water feature with papyrus and water lillys might look nice. So guess what Graeme is doing tomorrow? Digging out a few half dead shrubs and preparing the area for said bath tub. He is thrilled!!!!! I'm off now to do some more digging for aunty Jessie and to see how my 'wooden arm' thread is going. See ya'll later ~~~~~~waves from me on the barge luv Trifley

Good Afternoon Wattlers and party goers. I glad that you all had such a friendly week end and thanks for the photos Laurie. Where are the ones of you? How wonderful is it for the miners. When I heard the news flash tingles went up and down my spine and I was covered in goose bumps. I was sadly one of those who didn't hold out any hope for them. I now know that miracles can happen. Thank you God. I agree, the 'anchor' man was asking some stupid questions. Even this morning one channel was trying so hard to over dramatise the situation, which was dramatic enough in reality. We should all pray now that they are returned safely. Hi Tanya, new comers are always welcome,as long as you have a sense on humour you will fit in. Now then girls, Rebs has some sort of surprise in store for us in Brisbane, the only clue she would give me is 'Oscars'. My guess is that George Clooney is coming to entertain us. That would suit me, how about every one else. LOL Mary, Have you got some rain yet? We got about 26mm yesterday, but today it's bright sunshine again. At least we will have got the tank topped up a bit. I am going for now SuzyQ
