Hi Laurie, I can relate to your aglab man. Our ex next door neighbour was unable to read or write, although not many knew that. He ran a few hundred head of cattle with the old machinery. You always knew where you were with him, called a spade a spade. All the family worked togather as you say. He sold up a couple of years ago for a few million. What did he do? Went and bought a bigger farm further west. The money didn't really mean much to him. It's the life he loves. SuzyQ

Tony loved the ag lab thing so true and we can be so proud of them because they did it hard, and didn't have the mod cons they have today . Rebs you greedy girl too many convicts not fair I dont want a tendy one I need a real one who is a putor expert please I need to know this please if I get wireless broadband to use here can I use it too when I go to Queensland if I get a phone on up there will it be the same that I already have with a card from voda phone that I put in the laptop or what dont understand cant et mobile service up there at Kurrimine and no service from vodaphone mobile either the only ones who were getting service were the cdma phones. I put aland line on to my van when we were there last year because of having mum down in Melbourne and was very glad I got the land line on as got the news about mum on it when she passed away as I was getting messages on mobile only when we left the caravan park and went to tully or innisfail all the messages from the last week showed up . so dont know whether to just go up there with the voda phone card and hopefully will be able to get on the net with that on the coast as doesn't work here in Wonga at all, with the landline I was able to get the internet fine on my normal dial up and when I bought the card in Townsville I was able to get the internet without the landline all the way down the coast but not if we went inland at all so any help with explaining this to me would be appreciated . Condolences to Richards family. Very sad. Lara........I'm impressing even myself at the moment. That's 5 convicts in total now. 1 in WA, 4 in Tas, and two are sisters to boot. guess that self explains any further naughtiness on my part. lol !!! Anna, I wasn't lurking Hon....honest !! It was there for the taking. Walked into the office in discust after seeing Aker belt someone across the head and then try to act hard done by when he was penalised for it. God, every time I see that man I want to chase him with a bottle of hair dye. Bleachy blonde hair and small black animal clinging to your chin are not a good look. love the final scores to the Swans/Bris game. 96-69. Guess the Lions really did get scr*w*d. lol !!! *trounces off to naughty corner*

Late Afternoon Wattlers, Have been out all day watching 8year old Grandson play soccer in a Gala day, they are so funny to watch at that age, the rules are abit different now to when my own son played, they used to play on full sized pitches at the age of 5, more modified now. A sad weekend with poor Sophie and now Mike Carlton dying like that, lets hope they get those miners out tonight. We had that huge wind gust earlier, i'm sure it came from Mudgee but it has gone now. Mary Glad you like your new car. Great story Tony on the Ag Labs, I have heaps of those. Well off to get some dinner, easy meal tonight I think, Have a great evening all who do you think will get the gold tonight???? Cheers Sandra in the Gong........

Hi all, yes I'm ok thanks for the concern. Funeral on Thursday afternoon. Sympathy to Richard's family. We just never know when our time might come, do we. I'm just blown away by what the women of our Ag Labs went through. It was tough for the men but I think even tougher for the women. One of John's ancestors had 6 babies and toddlers die and still went on to have seven living children. Many of those women were giving birth for 30 years! We owe them big time! Aww Lara, I wanted another birthday on the 19th! ((((HUGS)))) to all Vonny

Not trivial at all Laurie, especially to his family. You're right of course, I thought something sounded strange, but didn't pick up what it was. Teach me to pay more attention instead of only listening with half an ear to the news.

Evening from a grumpy devil, not talking footy are we Rebs? So sad to hear about Richard Carleton, now they are saying that the miner will more than likely spend another night underground. The family of Larry Knight had his funeral postponed til this Tuesday so that Todd Russell and Brant Webb can go to the service, thinking that would give the rescuers plenty of time to get them out, but now they are going to cut it fine as they expect them to stay in hospital for maybe 24 hours once they are released. I also have many ag labs and proud of it. My mum was born on a farm one of 5 girls and they all could cut hay, drive tractors, trap rabbits, help in calving and anything else that was needed to be done on the farm, they also had a 5 mile walk to school each day. Yes even I can say while spending time on the farm I have put a ferret down a rabbit hole to catch a rabbit for the evenings meal, milked a cow, even by hand, and caught a chook so Pop could cut his head off then I would help scauld, pluck, and clean ready to eat, I did also help catch geese ready for killing, but didnt like them as much as the wing hurt when they wrapped you over the knuckles when you missed grabbling them. I also walked beside thr tractor and threw bales of hay onto the trailer when it was hay bailing time. My grandparents and also their ancestors would as Tony mentioned helped their neighbours when it was haybailing or if crops needed sowing or a shed needed replacing along with may other things. Well it is tea time will catch you all after. Cheers Sue

Hi All, Back on here again. Seems I have only been able to read posts & I have to get of the computer again. Managed to kick kids of long enough to do something today. Such a pity & a shock about Richard Carlton. What with little Sophie's battle again it hasn't been a good week for happy news. Lets hope the one bright light will still shine & they get the miners out safely. It's been chucking it down here. Even had hail this morning but not much. the heater has been going full bore trying to get the washing dry. Finally got some blue sky, temp still cold though. Back later peta

Hi Cinderebel, at least you dont have to put up with rudees at home. David is letting me know in no uncertain terms that the Roos beat the Hawks, with help from an ex Hawk, and that hurts the most. I think we must have done the same as your team or forgot to come out and play after half time. Hello Peta, not sure what part of the woods you are from, but it is cold and wet over here too. Cheers Sue

Hi Sue, I'm in adelaide. Sorry don't follow football closely. Like to watch the Crows & Port sometimes though. Hope the rain stays away for a bit our roof leaked and we cant find where it's coming from. Think hubby is ready to silicon the whole roof in frustration. Peta

I was about to say it was Richard Carleton ....... though I must admit when I first heard the name Carleton I thought it was Mike. Wow! ........ went outside a while ago to empty the tea pot ..... and its blowing a gale, but not only that - it feels icy - wouldnt be surprised if there was snow somewhere (not here tho) .... I'd say your Claret Ash leaves have been blown to kingdom come Lew. Think what you just said Vonny - would you like to be a year older on 19th than you were on the 5th? lol .... Not meee!!! ... One a year is enough. Yes Anna, I did get two nurses, and even fed Lucas for a little while - such a dear little pet he is, .... and sooo little. ... Of course I took some more pics. .. I was amazed how he was holding his head up at 3 weeks looking around. .. He will see his two little girl cousins next week (6 & 7) who are anxiously awaiting his arrival in Bendigo. Jood
