Thanks Miss Rebs, I'll be in anything, but a fight. So you just make the decision and I'll be there with bells on (and hubby!). Also, don't let the malicious people on this site get you down. They're just pathetic nobodies!!!! Yeah, Heather, research is my thing and that's also what I do in the office, researching cases, Acts, Titles, etc., so it's really just an extension of my FH research! Sorry Jood, it's the quick or the dead. Hey, I only got 45 sleeps, so I'll do as much (or as little) as I jolly well please, pmsl. heee heeee! Glad to hear you're okay, Tony, started to worry about ya! Don't work too hard. When we win Lotto on Saturday, you're going to have a lot of disappointed clients, lol. Nice to hear from you Mary. Glad that the new little vehicle is getting a good workout. Rug up for Orange, it's been quite chilly. Oh, come on, Laurie, I'd share the accolades with you. See you in the tribunal! Loves ya all Lew Lew xxx

Hi Lew thanks a million girl did you just google which by the way I never thought off duh ,or do you have a rententive memory, of course with your job you would have one any way I suppose thanks so much for your trouble anyway you got it its great I wonder did he give these to all the workers or was it for a special occassion I will have to look up her birth date won't I Nellie that is if it was hers ? Maybe I can get in touch with the Quong Tart company or one of his descendants, after I wrote the query on here today I did go to BDM NSW and found Quong Tart and his birth marriage and death a, and also the birth of his son George Quong Tart , who sadly was born in 1903 the year of Quong's death I wonder if his death was caused directly by being assaulted like he was I will take a photo of this locket for you all to see not really pretty by any means it's maybe a fashion statement of the time 1886 the engraving is very nice on it and it would seem a lot of trouble to go to for every employee to have their initials so beautifully engraved on the front of it .Hi Heather how come your name has changed please I have you twice in my addie book already under Albury News and and Irving and now Preston ?? you know it doesn't take much to confuse this old girl mate.LOL have to go and have dinner been in the garden all afternoon ok maybe not all afternoon but couple of hrs anyway so maybe back this evening if not see you all tomorrow I'm waving Laurie can you see across here or is the long white cloud blocking the view Po Cari Cari Anna waltzs off singing very favourite song, love Lara

Hi Lara, no problems. I love researching and, of course, when I retire (in 45 sleeps, if anyone has forgotten, lol) I will have even more time to play. So, don't forget, you lot, to just contact me and I'll do my best. Can't wait to see the photo, Lara. Don't forget, that a lot of importers/department stores put their names on things when they weren't really the makers. Lew Lew xxx

Thanks guys, I'm okay. It was nothing personal...well, not against me anyway. Now, this Brisvegas gig. Is there anyone coming who didn't get Suzy Q's email forwarded to them? I don't think I have a full email list, so please accept my apologies if I missed you. Anyway, sounds like a good idea to me. I'm happy to go with it if everyone else is in agreeance. Cheers, love Rebs x

Just discovered that two peeps have my daughter and her hubby on their tree!! And said daughter and hubby have no idea!! Will tell them tomorrow. Annoying thing is that I sent both tree owners an email when daughter's name first appeared in April and they didn't answer. Because they had an incorrect birthdate, I just thought it was coincidence that the name was the same but did some more sluthing today and realise it is not a coincidence. 2 entries with the same unusual first name and surname is a bit too much when her hubby's entire family also appear with the same tree owners!!! Grrrrrrrrrr I guess some people are just too innocent or just don't think! Talking about innocent - You know how I've told you I have slight dyslexia and also have trouble spelling. Weeellll. I once bought my John a shirt that had all the 'I'm a mountain man' words because we lived on a Mountain at the time. He did give me a funny look when I gave it to him and he never wore it!!! Eventually he told me WHY PMSL. Exit Vonny ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ sleep well. :)

Yaaayyy I get to put the glad rags on! Treasury casino.....here I come! Evening all. Had a busy afternoon. Graeme dug the hole for the bath tub and also a trench for the cable for the light I decided just HAD to go in. My supervising talents were put to good use heee heee. We have some pots of dwarf papyrus we've had in another small water feature but it now leaks. Hence the new effort. We got those from Bunnings (love that place!) and I'll have to go back there for some water lillys too.....ow shucks! I finished off the small garden near the front door which Graeme started last week. I planted 22 mondo grass around the edge and it looks good even if I do say so myself. I probably wont be able to walk tomorrow....bloody back! Rebs...whos been upsetting you hon??? Tell me and I'll send Nefer to stomp on their pointy little heads! Hi Tony, don't work too hard mate....you'll be too tired to go on your holiday. I'm off to bed now folks.....to rest my weary bones. Pleasant dreams everyone. ~~~~waves to all you wobbling peeps love Trifley

Moring Lew and all, Albury is fair and clear except for the smoke haze from burnoffs this time of year, will be gorgeous autumn day. From my window I can see a new bridge being constructed to do with the freeway being put through town, looks like a dozen pieces of machinery all flashing their safety lights, dozens of blokes in orange vests. At the moment it takes me 15 mins to do a 3 min drive to town as our roads are all diverted and traffic build-up heavy. But when it's done I'll be half an hour closer to Melb and Sydney LOL Enjoy you day everyone, Heather PS Genealogists note: married name Preston, maiden name Irving lol.

Brrrrr !!! Wearing a thick jumper this morning. Dark clouds coming in over the water and the temp has dropped. Might be in for a spot of rain I think. Just as well, nearly forgotten what green grass looks like. NZ had a quake? Haven't heard anything on the news yet. Laurie babe will be fine. Off to get something hot into me. Warm me up from the inside. Have a lovely day folk, catch up later. Rebs x

Got the earthquake news direct from a friend in Napier Rebs. ... I'm sure Laurie will mention it even if it doesnt make the news. 7.4 quake in deep Pacific 16/05/2006 18:27 - (SA) Wellington - A powerful magnitude 7.4 earthquake hit deep under the South Pacific near an uninhabited chain of islands north of New Zealand on Tuesday, said the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The Pacific tsunami warning centre issued a bulletin and said the quake had not generated a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami. But it warned the quake could spawn a small tsunami within 100km of its epicentre. The USGS said the quake hit at 22:39 New Zealand time, 148km below the seabed about 290km south-southwest of Raoul Island in the Kermadec island chain. Jood

Good morning wattlers A lovely clear day in Auckland, though a chilly breeze is about. The giraffes here are different to ours - in fact I'm not going to call them giraffes any more - these ones are 'girorses' !!! I am starting to worry about the wind in this city, the furniture on the balcony is all rope wired down, and being on the 16th floor I doubt it has anything to do with theives . . . lol Joodles, if there was a tremor here overnight - I didn't feel it - slept like a baby - 9 hours straight - was it the bed, the walk or the wine ???? We had a lovely night last night, walked downtown till we found a little chinese type street (lots of lanterns hanging about) and then had a noodle night! walked for miles afterwards, and boy are there some hills here. At 9pm we are walking back to the hotel and the hill up to here is the steepest - thought I was going to slip backwards. Update on the kitchen, 'Himself' says seeing as how he cooked breaky in Yarrawonga, I should be cooking it here - lots of difference in a BBQ and a stove top - dont you think !!! Good friend (Adie) from the Gold Coast is in next room, and we are both getting flack from the 'he types' so this morning while they are busy, we are going shopping - after tomorrow morning we wont hear about it again - guaranteed!!! (saw a jokes and tricks shop last night) Ok Lew we shared . . . . puter just got good manners and recognised age before beauty !!! Rebs, girl, they just using their words without their brains, just remember you reap what you sow - it will all bite them on the bum in the end so dont let them upset you - I actually feel sorry for folks like that because they have missed the most important thing in life 'respect' - they dont give it so they wont get it!!! Casino sounds a good venue girls, and Rebs, been done before you know, we had Wattlers pre-chrissie at Casino in Sydney, but of course Brisvegas will be in a class of its own - a magnificent old building! Maybe we could take over one of the little alcoves to the side of the 'din on iniquities' and settle in to an afternoon of chatter. Margaritas are pretty good there too !! Our friends Marg & Danni from Jakarta stay at Brisvegas couple of times a year, he is a bit of a high roller (actually I think more than a bit because he gets free flights - compliments of Casino) - they stay in the high rollers club accomodation in the same building as the Casino itself, not the hotel over the park - so I have had a pretty good look inside the building, its really gorgeous, and they have done a great job in retaining the detail and the character. Off for some retail therapy, Adie & I share a desire for some new shoes, nothing sensible of course! She has just said speak for yourself, so first I have to work on her attitude! Cheers luv Laurie

Ok !!! Casino here we come !!! Assuming it is okay with Donna. There was someone from up north a bit interested in the Brissie meet as well. Can anyone remember who? Hope they read the thread intermittenly. Laurie, Ye Olde Treasury Building is lovely. I'm still in awe of the chandelier in the main entry foyer. Huge, but exquisite. I suggest we all meet at Sth. Brisbane station, take a stroll through southbank to catch the ferry across the river. The treasury building is at the top of the ramp overlooking the river. Much nicer than walking from central station through the crowded mall on a Sat. Rebs x
