Hi all First of all - sorry to hear you are laid up Lara babe - how on earth did you do that, and on a weekend too! Get well quick. Tony, mate - I should have said ASL - sorry !!! (I'd been looking at both lists) Pam, welcome to the Wattle Group - I'm allowed to say I dont know where Birriwa is, as I was born in Perth, tho I have lived in NSW for a loooong time now. Actually ladies and gennelmen! Birriwa is up the road from Miss Mudgee (well - as the crow flies) Just been walking down the main road here where our Foundation Day is being held - great to see everyone. For a comparitive newcomer of 4 years, I bumped into 6 people I knew. The parade will be starting soon - out the front of my place. Dogs, kids, pipe bands, bikies - you know......... Jude

Lara. Take it easy mate. Damn painful when you pull a muscle, and just rest and dont strain yaself. Hope your feeling better soon. Joodle. I put those piccie's on the ASL sight a little while ago mate. The origional ones dissapeared????...so i added a few new ones. They are mostly in Ireland...when we were there last Sept. Dont know what happened to the other's.......maybe the site only allows you to keep them on for a short while only..? Tony Oz..:>)) ps. Very cold and raining in Melb.

Judy Report 1 Apr 2006 03:02

Tony I was just looking in ASL to see what was new - and when I saw yours - I thought the Irish pics were new (to me anyway) Well ..... the march is over. It went past my house - oh no - here comes some more, they must have been dawdling. Its so nice to see the town come together (Its our Foundation Day, a historial day so to speak) Just up the road from me is a marker (see below) .. which commemorates Gove Macquarie and his wife. ___________________ In 1813 Governor Lachlan Macquarie and his wife stopped by what Macquarie called a 'spring' in a deep glen. No spring as such has been found in the area since, and it is assumed that he referred to a local creek. From this visit came the town's name and also the name of the main street, Macquarie Road. Springwood features the oldest railway station building in the Blue Mountains, having been a coal and water stop in the steam era. _____________________ The bikies are driving past now in all shapes and sizes (the bikes I mean!) Oh well - all over - back to h*******k Jood

Hi Wafflers See what happens....I go to bed then get up and do h*******k and come on here to find 2 pages of posts! The thing is...they are all interesting. Even the weather reports are CORRECT! There is nothing like getting info straight from the source. Lara....what on earth were you doing? What ever it was you shouldn't have! Have a nice warm shower and a GENTLE massage of the area to encourage blood flow. Healing thoughts speeding their way to you. Greetings to Pam from Birriwa....~~~~a most regal wave to you. Hope you enjoy our little group. You don't have to be mad to join us..........but it helps :o))) I don't know anything about your area.......what's it like? Hi Joodleoodleoouhooooooo (Trifley makes noise like yoedeling - badly). Are you having a CRAFT moment dear? I do understand....I forget my own name sometimes pmsl. Marks car is a Subaru Forrester AWD (All wheel drive) and Coffs Harbour was invaded by nearly 60 of them last weekend. They came from Qld. NSW & Vic. and one enthusiast even flew in from WA. By the look of the photos they all had a great time. I love a parade!! Especially one with a pipe band! Aren't Aussies wonderful.....any excuse to party. I hope the Foundation Day festivities go off well. Hi Julie Cat..how's your flu? Keep up the fluids and rest and you'll be good in no time. Ok now everyone.......fingers X X X and positive thoughts for tonight! Hopefully we will be celebrating with Champers. Toodle ooo all. A big~~~~regal wave to everyone from the royal barge. Vonny skips on singing club song.............. looks around.............you know you don't all need to have your hands over your ears!!!! It's a nice song. :) lol Ooooo Trifely, we have a Subaru Forester too. *Whispers....sh....... (I don't know one end of a football from the other)............but don't tell please.* However, all kids are mad footy fans and my eldest Son-I-L is obsessed. So hope that redeems me slightly. Sunny and overcast in turns today with a cold night forecast Lara, Oh poor you. Hope a nice day in bed helps - with a hot waterbottle of course. (I bet you did it on purpose so I'll have to do your gardening when we come to Yarrawonga) lol ((HUG)) NOTICE FOR EVERYONE There's a really interesting thread on General which is the diary of the trekkers who went to the Sahara recently - was to raise funds for cancer research. Anyway it;s a great read. I'll nudge it up for you now but if you can't find it just enter the word - diary - in the search area and you'll see it. *it's the one by Jack...... Vonny xxx

Afternoon all - what started out as a glorious sunny day here on the bay turned into a cool gusty windy one around lunch time. But the show goes on . . . planes keep on flying in and out and ships in and out of the harbour - there are a few nuts on sailboards over near the airport, and some even bigger nuts out there fishing. I have been keeping myself occupied doing FH while the patient watches the motor sport . . . and . . . . Joodles & Vonny I wont tell if you dont - I dont like football much myself - discouraged my boys too (with their height they had to be basketballers) - strange really because from a real RL family with a cousin who was a top A grader for years (even legend status) and as we were in the inner social circle at the police academy in Brisvegas for years we know a lot of Bris players/staff well . . . but I still didn't follow their game of slaughterball ! I'll even be brave enough to say I think it is obscene the amount of money top sportsmen and women are paid to play their games - all of them ! Ouch . . . stop it . . . leave me alone you bullies . . whos throwing bottles and things at me!!!!!! Back to nuetral corner now, was in NSW bdm earlier and they have a notice up to say the online service will be unavailable for a short time on Monday morning for maintenance . . . Fingers crossed they are going to add on to the births and bring it up past 1905 . . . . Lara, take it easy girl - what on earth have you been doing ? Get medical assistance if your having trouble breathing ! If your not breathing properly to stop pain it could get nasty - advise from someone who ended up with pnemonia from bruised ribs. Time to make my patient a cuppa so catch you all later cheers luv Laurie

Afternoon All, Lara, I hope that you are resting, do you need some one to raise your glass to your lips, or can you manage. Seriously, take care, if it isn't better by Monday you should visit your doc. I am a non footie girl. Wouldn't know AFL from NRL. I too prefer motor racing. Are you watching today Devily. Welcome Pam in Birriwa. Hope you drop in often, some of us are quite sane occasionally. Everyone is helpful when you need it, from family problems, health to family tree research. I can vouch for all of that. I hope it isn't compulsary to sing the anthem at the QLD meet. If I sing we will be thrown out for sure. Rebs, not sure yet if Neville will be chauffering me to the meet, but if he does, he won't hang around, unless any one else's hubby does. I think we are getting Melbourne weather at the moment. Yesterday it was cold and wet nearly brought out the winter woolies. Last night we had a terrific storm, even got a little bit of hail. This morning it was very cold, lunch time blowing a gale and now it's hot and sunny. Laurie, did you manage to get in any sight seeing? And what was the weather like. You will have plenty to keep you busy now, it must have been worth the trip. Lew, I hope that the move is going well and hope you get hooked up to the internet soon. Mary, take care, you sound as if you are overdoing it again. Just take one day at a time. To everyone else, have a good week end. Keep your fingers crossed for tonight. Love SuzyQ

Hi again, You snuck in there Laurie. I agree with you about the money sports people earn, well some of them. Michael Schumaker earns $60 million a year. Why on earth would he need all that money. I can remember when car racing was for any one who had a car. We used to go most weekends and the drivers went in the car they were racing. If they crashed they just got a lift home with some one else. Also the olympics were for amatuers, but the eastern block countries spoilt all that. I think one of the best ever all round athletes was Dailey Thompson the decathalete, his record has only recently been broken. Any money that he earned from advertising went into a trust for when he retired and he had to struggle to get to meets. They are the true sports people, they did it for love. Sorry, will get back off my soap box. Bye for now SuzyQ

Hello everyone. Just dropped in to catch up on what's been happening. Don't get on here too often so there were an awful lot of listings to read!! Caught the fact that a Brisbane meet-up is on the cards which is great. I live just north of our great Capital and would love to join in if that's OK? Any ideas yet as to what, where etc.? Look forward to putting faces to names (I think) :-)) Mostly blue skies here at the moment, with a good strong breeze - ideal weather for drying the washing - ugghh. So I suppose I'd better go and do some. Have to clean out the garage too, ready for my NEW car which arrives next week. Yippeee.

Well that didn't work. Any suggestions please? I want to show a name without surname being included but everything I've tried so far has failed. I'm sure someone can tell me what to do (without being rude, of course) bg

Hi I am still here, I think that you put the Sunny in for your first name and Pam for your surname. Hope that works SuzyQ

Patricia – Lara felt there was someone else in Qld who had posted a msg once, and she couldn’t remember where they were from . But I don’t know if it was you, or what – it doesn’t matter, we are very happy to welcome you to the thread. Actually I think Lara goes up to Hervey Bay on holidays occasionally. I’m sooo glad Im not the only one who doesn’t follow football – whatever kind, but then I don’t follow cars either :-(( And hi to Pam from North of Brisbane – the meet is on 10th June I believe, in Southbank somewhere – Our resident unresistrebel invis-rebel is organizing it – and we’d love you to come – the more the merrier. Since our leading lady Lara is ailing this weekend with pulled muscles (poor babe), I will take it upon myself on her behalf, to ask Edith (Canada) Patricia (Qld) Pam (Birriwa NSW) & Pam from Nth of Brisbane to let us all know your birthdates (you don’t have to put the year of birth) As there are now two Pams, we better get you sorted out. Pam from Nth Brisbane, to change your name, type the Sunny Pam in the christian name section – just take your surname out and put a full stop – that should fix it. Pam what sort of new car are you getting next week? Vonny - that Sahara Trek story is rivetting - I was most interested in the Shewee pmsl Jood
