Evening all, (like dixon of dock green)

behave yourselves or the full force of the law will be upon you.

Phoned the hospital today and spoke to a nurse to see if pops was behaving himself, she said he was very happy and he remarked that the unit was better than a five star hotel, so thats good, i will pop over to see him tomorrow, trouble is its about 45miles from where i live, so can only go couple times a week.
see you later

Rose the interviews of the coming out the jungle in on at 9 pm.......

Rog, great to hear Pops is settling in......It is not like being in hospital, the staff will watch to see if he can do his own personel care, if he can, they will keep an eye on him, if he is not up to it, the staff will progress him slowly until he has reached his potential, We have a kitchen and the O/T takes them in to see if they can make a hot drink and toast. The phisio will see how he mobilises, climb stairs, transfers and so on
When we go to see them Rog, we have a full feed back from the therapists so we know if they are independantly mobile or they use a stick/delta/zimmer, we know how much they are doing in the kitchen/bathroom,so we have a good insight before we start the assessment of needs - the family can request to be present on assessment...

Pops will be fine, dont worry !!

Some sound advice there Jacky, should hopefully put your mind at ease regarding your Pop's place of care Rog. Hope so anyway.

Now I haven't felt that it has been too cold today though saying that earlier on in the day I didn't venture outdoors at all. In fact I didn't go outside again until half two and it was quite mild then. Hopefully things haven't been to bad where you are.

Going to brush up on what I picked up from the computer course today, see if any of it has sunk in and hopefully will decide to stick around for a while!

Take care til later,
Lyn x x x x

Jacky Report 4 Dec 2007 21:54

Yes it was a lot milder today Lyn,

Forgot to tell you all................I thought i saw a white paper bag on the road driving to work this morning, when i was on top of it - it was a seagull and i went over it - a big thud to the front of the car made me pull over and i noticed the gull was dead..........i went sick, a chap pulled over behind me, checked my car and told me not to worry - there was nothing i could do, when i started to drive on, i started to cry - i could'nt get the sound of the thud on my car out of my head all day - i know i may sound silly but i killed one of Gods little creatures....took the birds life away, this feels horrible,

Goodnight to you all - sleep soundly and take care.

Sorry to hear of your accident Jacky, I know what it feels like cos i did exactly the same yesterday except it was a pheasant, they just seem to wait then jump in front of you, nothing to be done, no ones fault, just a fact of life.
Sleep well all
