I'm off to Perth tomorrow, going by train. Unfortunately there are only two trains from Bunbury each day so we have to be at the station at 0545am for the 0600am train.

As we are in the middle of another heatwave we're not looking forward to spending the day in Perth, although tomorrow is forecast to be slightly cooler. It was 41c yesterday and 26c overnight.

The train back doesn't leave until 5.30 in the evening

Ooohh ,don't envey you that journey in such heat :-(

My neighbours just arrived back from Oz after 7 weeks close to Sydney, they have no 'tan', I guess it was too hot to sunbathe. It's not the done thing in such heat anyway.
Aircon and /or parasols if you can get some sort of breeze.

Pancakes !

Shrove Tuesday yesterday :-)

lol Sandie, while the Eastern States have had some hot weather, they seem to have had more storms with heavy rain.

To go to Perth in the car would be more convenient but the cost of parking is getting prohibitively expensive...ok if your employer is paying but not when you have to pay yourself.

Also, as oh and I both have the Seniors Card the rail fare is only 50% of the full fare. So it is approximately $60.00 for the two of us return. Probably slightly less than petrol and parking costs.
