Yep Im sorry to say you are both right about the driving. I just dont know where parents are coming from or what they are thinking

or is it just an extension of the designer hand bag...look what my son drives etc

Fans, you can still see the number when you right click the name?

My first car was an 850cc Hillman Imp and I loved it ,had it resprayed black to make it look sporty.

Daughter was dissapointed we didnt buy her a car for her 17th as rich friend down the road got a nearly new Honda S type.

If GR are going to make these changes can they sort out this envelope stays there when there are no messages or does'nt show when you have one

I can't see the number when I right click Ginny.

This is a 'pain' because I have a certain person who I avoid answering (for very good reason) so when I see her name I first check to see if it is her or someone with the same name who deserves to be helped.

I am not going to be able to do that now so those people who unfortunately share her name will miss out!

P.S. ja...x

I have the same problem with my little envelope!

I can still see the number for people posting on a thread

..... just hold the mouse cursor over the name, and the number shows below the screen

I have just sent in a complaint to GR about the new Message system ................ did you notice that when you click on the sender's name, it shows your name and BIRTH YEAR, as well as automatically allowing that person access to your tree?

That sounds VERY worrying Sylvia - I'm not sure that I understand what you mean though !!

You click on a name and 'they' can see your name, year of birth, and they then have access to your tree???

Can you give some more details on this please as I don't think I like it !!

Dea

If you get a message in your Inbox, you used to click on the name of the sender to open the message

You now have to click on the TITLE of the message to open it

If you click on the name, it shows you a quick profile, not all show the following, but this is what I get when I click on Cyn's name to a message to me:-

Evening all.

Sylvia, doesn't the word 'allow' mean that you have to actually click on it to 'allow' the other person to see your tree??

Look how long we've been friends too!!!

Oh oh. Tracey's back......take cover folks.

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 13 Jul 2010 20:19

Oh yeah. When I get a message in my emails to say that I have been given permission to view someone's tree [happens a lot because of my messages etc.], it now takes me straight to my contact list.

If you click on Allow, a little box appears that says "You are about to give someone access to your tree"

Then you have to click one of 2 buttons.

I clicked Cancel, 'cos I did not want to give you access to my tree!!

I think on messages you instigate yourself from the search option, the default is to share your tree.

I have a problem, my emails are telling me i have messaged myself, but when i look at the body of the email it gives the name of who has actually messaged me!
