Morning Ladies,
I can't believe it is only half 8.I feel like I have been up for hours.Didn't sleep much last night, and it will be the same tonight !!
My fingers feel all tight and puffy this morning. It is lovely to see all this sunshine ,but a few less degrees of heat would be nicer.

Morning ladies, it's a little bit dull here at the moment although still very warm, it could be a touch of sea mist as we are only about 4 miles from the sea and it does tend to get quite misty at times. Very atmosheric in the dark...or spooky coould be another word!

What an a*sehole that fella sounds Lorraine, he probably wasn't even aware of what a git he sounded...you get chaps like that don't you!! I'll bet he was a right ugly old minger too!

Jane hope you're not quite as hot now...I didn't sleep all that well either. Back feels better than it did, am working a night shift tomorrow night so will have to let them know later if I'll be in.

Keep cool ladies,

Pam.

Well I hope they weren't looking for me lol ......I got out of the shower a few minutes ago and heard what sounded like a very low helicopter. So I went to the window in my birthday suit to have a look(not that I'm nosy or anything) and there was a police helicopter right above my garden !!! Good job I have curtains and not a blind to grab in front of me.They have moved over the fields now.
I'm glad I wasn't over there with the dog as I may have been caught up in a police chase LOL

Hello ladies, another hot one! I was thinking about hot summers and the one that always comes to mind is the summer of 1976, phew it was a real scorcher wasn't it? I was married in the October of 1975 and so we we're still in that 'honeymoon phase' and so in love...all we did was have sex all through the heatwave of 1976............ah they were the days!! I do still love him but we don't show it in quite the same way...ha ha!

Back later ladies,

Hi All,
1976 ,I was working in a garage for the summer. My job was mainly to pick up and deliver parts to different garages. The car I drove was an ex hearse lol
No air con in those days and I remember hating the thought of having to spend most of that HOT HOT weather in a flipping car everyday.

I hope Fiona is ok too Lorraine,I know she said she wasn't feeling great the other day.

Hi Folks
I'm here, I stopped taking those pills on Monday and am feeling back to my self again. going back to see the doctor again on the 24th July to talk once again and see what can be done about this pill lark.
Have started to eat more food like Pro Active yogarts and drinks and using pro Active Flora. Also went for a long walk round our local park with OH on Sunday was shattered when we got back mainly because it was very warm & sunny, I will try and keep the walking up more at the weekends.

Daughter no 2 has been home the last few days but is suffering really bad with her hay fever. I feel helpless , can't do much to help her apart from holding her over the toilet when she coughing so much and being sick
she was so hot last night poor wee soul didn't get much sleep. mind you nither did I as it was very warm.

Daughter no 2 has packed in work as 2 weeks eairler as there is a scare with swine flu in her office, so she is now on holiday for 2 weeks then starts maternity leave
she only has about 8 weeks to go before the baby is due.
Getting very stuffy now , I amm off for adrink and going to do some shopping.

We went on holiday in 1976 in a caravan the week before the heatwave started and it snowed!! Nobody believes me but its true.

Back to being hot. Lay on top of the bed with nothing on last night and was still far too hot to sleep, so went downstairs, got both hot water bottles, filled them with freezing cold water then went back to bed and put one under my feet and cuddled the other one. Definitely helped

Hi Everyone,

1976....yes that was hot!! I was working in the DHSS then in an old shoe factory building. Only tiny windows to open with a long pole and hook and no curtains or blinds and I sat near the window. As the sun came round we stuck A4 sheets of paper on the glass to stop the sun glare in our eyes. The walls were painted brick and the chairs had plastic covers you stuck to with the heat.....horrid. Luckily we could work flexitime and I would arrive at 7.00am and finish at 3.30pm......we were so glad when it got cooler again.

I'm glad you are feeling better Fiona. My daughter used to be very bad at night with Hayfever with coughing. Her eyes were terrible during the day.But she seems to have grown out of it.I tend to get a really claggy throat and itchy roof of my mouth.I spend a lot of time making some very strange noises lol

Fiona

Fiona Report 1 Jul 2009 20:30

Won't ask what kind of strange noises Jane lol!!! I'm to polite
Just had a bath , feel less sticky now but have got the fans on already cooling down the bedrooms.
We have just had a good rain fall so I won't need to water the garden. mind you I broke the hose pipe last night ,( the jet bit where the water comes out) you can still use the hose but the water shoots out in every direction and soaks all your clothes.

Thanks FamilySearcher.
Even though i was only off for a few days I missed having a chat to all my pals on here.
we have a lot of empty snail shells in the garden at the moment the birds must be having a real feast.
I saw two litle birds on the bird bath yesterday a mother and her baby , the baby was flapping it's wings and squaking like mad " probably saying "feed me feed me" they were so cute.
