Mo, I have barely played the piano since I gave up choir 3 years ago. Added to which my hands are a bit arthritic now and so dont do what I want. I just hope my daughter and granddaughter will get a lot of use out of it, and take good care of it, since it is almost 98 yrs old having been given to my mother for her 14th birthday.

Hi Jean, Although the river was running very high, normally this time of year we can see the stones at the bottom but it was about 3-4 feet deep and people were kayaking down it, it didn't reach flood level thank goodness as 3 years ago the whole hotel on the complex was flooded plus some of the time shares. However, around the lakes and in the fields and on some roads it was flooded, we had a months rain in 24 hours.

Huia I hope your daughter and granddaughter get as much enjoyment from the piano as you did. Do you have Norma's (Persie's) e mail address? If so could you tell her please that it is time to e mail me with her book suggestions etc. She has my e mail but I don't have hers, or can't locate it.

Good morning everyone, hope you are all ok. Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, things haven't been too good, but the last few days have started to make myself do things again. It isn't easy and it's very slow going but better this way than not making any progress at all.

Ann, hope you had a lovely holiday even though the weather wasn't as good as you might expect for June. Congratulations to both you and T on being together for 56 years. I thought that you hadn't been married that length of time as it wasn't that many years since you celebrated your Golden Wedding.

How is your daughter doing these days? I hope all is going well for her.

Mo, is there any news on J and Lilly's hospital appointments yet?
I hope they have heard something by now.

I went to the meet at Rotherham on Saturday, I didn't want to go but forced myself to and now I'm glad that I did. It all went well, the hotel where it was held was very nice with lovely food and great company.
There were nine of us altogether, three members that we had never met before...... we all got on as though we had always known each other. It's a pity we couldn't have a few more meets during the year.

Jean, glad to hear that you are feeling a lot better now. Glad to hear that you still making your cards. I hope that it won't be too long when I can concentrate enough to start making them again.

Huia, have you had the results of your Colonoscopy yet. If you have I hope that the results are nothing to worry about.

How are things with Phil these days. Hope he is still able to respond to you when you visit him.

It's lovely to be able to play a musical insrument, I really envy you.
Both Richard and Jennie take after Alun's father for music , Richard can play the piano and flute and Jennie can play the piano and clarinet. Alun did start to learn to play the piano when he was a child, but wasn't interested enough so gave it up. Now he regrets doing that and wishes that he had carried on. There you are, we are always after the event, when it's too late.lol!!

Marie, lovely to see you and to know that you are alright. Hope that your daughter is ok after her operation and that she will make a good recovery.

Linda, glad to hear that you and your family had a good holiday in Italy.
Hope your daughter is feeling a lot better now and not having any problems. My cousin's daughter who is 22 was diagnosed with Pancreatitis last year, so like your daughter, no more alcohol for her either.

Caz, sorry to hear that you are still not feeling better from having your kidney infection....I hope that you have managed to speak to the doctor this morning, it sounds as though the antibiotics hadn't quite clearded it. I hope that the doctor has been able to sort it for you today.
You would have loved being at the meet, it's such a shame that you are not able to go out and join us at one. We would all love to see you at one.

Sylvia, how are things with you and OH? Hope you are both OK.

It can't be too long now before your daughter and her family arrive. Hope you get some good weather for their stay with you.

I hope to speak to you later girls.

Take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Jean, glad you liked the e mail.

Sallie, good to see you making yourself post on here. I can't begin to understand what you feel like but it must be pretty horrible to feel that way and I hope our company will cheer you up a little and help you on the way to recovery. I hope too that you soon get back to making some cards, maybe a few simple ones at first to get you enthused again.
Yes we enjoyed the break, always love the Lake District scenery even in the rain, it was just a shame that a couple of days it was too wet to even venture out, although we managed the bar in the evening getting there holding on to each other under a large golf umbrella.
We were lazy though and only went swimming once, although we enjoyed that, it was just too much of an effort to get down to the leisure centre.
I am pleased that you got to the meet. :-)

joyce phoned me this morning but specky answerd, because she has lost her voice specky put the phone down as he just her a husky voice, she phoned back they had a brill meet, sadly the respiraty clinic put on a saturday clinic to cope with back log and i had to go there for a chat to understand the importance of keeping mask on at night i was in there for 10 min, it could of been done over the phone and i could of gone.

will next time though promise.

Ann, thank you for your support and encouragement. It's nice to know that you are all here for me.
Yes I'm sure that I will start doing cards again, I thought that I might try and make one or two simple Christmas cards to start with, not for anyone in particular, as that makes it a bit easier

Glad to hear that you and T enjoyed your holiday in the Lakes, despite the weather.
It's a lovely day here today, so let's hope it stays that way for a while.

Lorraine, it's nice to see you posting again. You certainly sound as though you and Specky have been busy with the bracelet making.

Joyce rang me last night her voice sounded hoarse then, at first I thought she had a bad cold, but she said that she was losing her voice. I joked with her, telling her it's because of all the talking she does.lol!!
It was a shame you couldn't make it to the Rotherham meet, it was great. Never mind, perhaps you will be able to make another one sometime.

Hello to all our other friends on here.

Speak to you all soon.

Hi everyone,
Sallie it's so good to see you back my lovely, we did miss your input on here, you are one of our founder members, and we miss your news updates.
It sounds like you all had a great time at the meet. No wonder poor Joyce is losing her voice, I bet you were all chattering away ten to the dozen.
Mind you, there are a lot of throat virus's going around here in Kent. My friends grandson, was sent home from school with a sore throat, and when they took him to the doctor, he said it wasn't tonsillitus, just a bad throat virus. As we have said before, all ailments turn out to be a virus these days, especially if they don't know whats wrong with you.

Has anyone heard from Caz today? I hope the doctor came out to see her as she has suffered enough with this kidney infection, they need to sort her out as soon as possible, bless her it's gone on to long now.

Hi Lorraine, good to see you matey. I see that you and Specky are still busy with your bracelet making.
Do you put names on all the bracelets love, only you said that Specky sorts out the names on the youngsters bracelets.
It sounds a good idea actually, then if I got myself lost, people would know my name, but I would also need my address added so they would know where to bring me home to. Mind you, Roly would probably open the door, and deny knowing me. lol

Cor Huia, your piano is now an antique being 98 years old. You all seem to be very musical in your family.
I bet your daughter and grandaughter take good care of it for you. And just think, your grandaughter could pass it on to her grandchildren one day.

Ann, I hope you and T have now dried out a bit. What a shame you had all that rain. It was better weather last time you went up there wasn't it.
But it's good to hear that you were able to relax whilst you were away.
I was gobsmacked when I read that Sallie was starting making christmas cards, but then the amount you all make, it is better to start earlier than later.
"Says she who is green with envy at you all."

Wonder of wonders, I managed to get all my washing dry out on the line today. But it looks like the dreaded rain is due back again tomorrow.
I dont know about getting a suntan this year, I think we will all end up with a rust -tan instead.

Sending love and hugs to our Jean, nothing more, nothing less, she only deserves the best. xxx

Bye for now girls, love to all. Mo xxx

Hi Mo I am here and feeling better, didn't ring the doc this morning as time just went then it got too late. I will ring tomorrow as I definately need sorting out, I spent most of the day in bed and feel better for it.
Thank you all for caring, it means a lot.
Sally I was just saying the other day about starting on the Christmas cards, I will have to get a start on mine. The only thing is that I don't have clue when I first start, then the ideas come come once I start, Oh dear I just caught myself going to sleep over the keyboard so I had better finish. See you all later.

Caz wasnt able to phone the doctor, so maybe tomorrow,
I am sure she knows we are all sending our loves and prayers, its awful when she is in so much pain along with her other problems....but she remains quite strong and gets on with it.....
Ann, I took your advice and found another outlet for the cards its the charity shop one of several in the area so I may do the rounds, at least i can carry on crafting....nice to be able to watch the soaps in peace tonight, a rest from footie...although it didnt bother me I just went into my Room and crafted... So my friends, keep smiling and love to Marie, Sylvia, Huia, and anyone I havent mentioned brew time ... take care...

Hello all. It was nice early on today but started raining before 12 and is decidedly damp now. We bought 2 pictures in the Lake District but having hung one we discovered we didn't have any more stronger picture hanging hooks to put the second one up so that will have to wait until Thursday.

Jean, thank you so much for the very pretty and clever card I love it.

Hi girls, I'm poorly aww, lol. It turns out that I have a kidney infection but it's stubborn as it didn't quite die off last ant-bios. She gave me another prescription but the chemist can't get it while turned three tomorrow afternoon. I do tend to feel a bit poorly now when I didn't yesterday, sickly.
Puss, it sounds as if you are going great guns with your bracelets, good on you, I hope thhey keep selling.

Hello Girls,

How is everyone today? Hope you and your families are all well.

Weather was quite nice this morning so caught the bus up to town to get a few things that I wanted. After getting the shopping I had a cup of tea in the coffee shop I I usually go to, before walking home.

Caz, were you able to see the doctor today? I hope you did and that he has given you something to clear up the infection.
About five weeks ago I bought a new drawer unit for the A4 card I have as it badly needs to be sorted and organised.....I still haven't done anything with it, I'm sure that I'll get it done one day soon.lol!!

I must go now, so will' see' you all later.

Take care everyone.

Mo in Kent Report 26 Jun 2012 19:57

Hi there one and all,
What a shame the pharmacy didn't have your tablets in Caz, that means it's going to be a few more days before you start to feel better love.
You guessed didn't you, that it hadn't cleared properly. If this lot of meds don't clear it, then the doctor will need to re assess the situation, we can't have you feeling so poorly for so long, it's bad enough having to endure what you do every day, without this on top of everything else.
Stay strong love, and get well soon.

Jean my lovely one, I want nuffin apart from your friendship, love and devotion, ( grovel grovel )
I know Roly isn't daft love, he caught on to my tricks many many years ago.
Nothing fools him now, as much as I might try.
Yes yes, I know I am very trying, but you wouldn't have me any other way would you. lol ;-)
Oh and by the way.... where was my brew earlier, I looked in the cyber hatch, and it wasn't there. NOOOOO dont give me the excuse that it drained away, or evaporated, I just dont believe ya, you forgot me didn't you.
( As if I would let Jean forget me girls ) >>>>>>>>.Sneaks off so Jean cant see me. MWAH xxx

Ann, cant you go to B+Q's tomorrow, it's 10% off day, you could get your picture hooks there hun.
Are you nearly straight after your holiday yet? At least you will have been able to get your washing dried in this lovely weather.

I had to laugh Sallie, at what you said about buying the drawer unit, it reminded me of those bedside cabinets we bought for Roly's room, before I retired.
Now that was nearly four years ago, and guess what, yes they are still in the packaging, in the shed in the garden. lol I have given up suggesting he makes them up now. I dread to think what they must be like now, probably warped to blazes, as it's very damp out in the shed.
So dont start worrying about getting things sorted with the card stuff. ;-)

Oh Lorraine, what are we going to do with you, fancy getting your cards mixed up like that.
I never ever do things like that.......( liar liar pants on fire Mo) I get confused with my Tes*o and Ic*land cards, always giving the wrong one over, and getting funny looks from the shop assistant when I had them over.
At other times, I have gone to pay for things from my own account, and ended up paying from the joint account. Then when the bank statements come in, having a lot of explaining to do. Well I can't help it if they both look the same can I.

Well as I didn't get my brew from Jean, I shall have to go and make one myself.
Ooh before I go, I may not be on here tomorrow. We have baby Lilly for the day, and then we are going to see the psychic medium Sally Morgan, at a theatre near to us.
Take care my lovely friends. Love Mo xxx
