Mo in Kent Report 3 Aug 2012 16:47

Sorry Ann, I missed your posting by seconds. Have you got anything exciting planned for the weekend?

I have got one poorly bunny here at home. Roly has had a bad belly for a couple of days now, and when I do my dinner soon, I shall have to eat it in the dining room, as I feel so guilty eating in front of him . Bless his little cotton socks.

sorry to hear that Roly is poorly. I am strange, when T has stomach bugs ets it alwys puts me off eating as well. I hope Roly is better soon.

Marie, its lovely hearing from you, hope you are well and also your family,
I am sad to hear about your s.i.l but once the chemo takes effect I feeel sure she will be fine, this cancer that touches so many peoples lives is a curse on our world... but more and more people are coming through in a positive way, so sending love and prayers for your s.i.l. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I was looking at some of the pics you sent me a long time ago of your grandchildren , I bet they are all grown up now, what age are they now?
now my dear friend what about you, what are you up to these days,
Jeff and I are plodding along ,He is well although he still thinks he should be doing what he did at 30years of age....lol.... I am dropping to bits overweight, dodgy eyes, cant walk far, the mind is very willing but the body is certainly weak or should it be the other way round.....lol...never mind we keep going along ..... thanks for adding to our lovely Caz,s chain of love she will be touched by it....take care Marie look forward to hear more of your news. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I am thinking of giving up crafting , I spend far too much time and money doing it, also it would be nice to have our little conservatory back as it should be, and used for relaxing....but the thoughts of clearing all the craft stuff out is making me quake. I have so much, not sure how to thin it all out, and off load quite a lot... Ann has suggested I keep some stock and try cut right back on the time I spend in there, its a good idea , but I am so involved with it all I dont think that would work....I just want to spend more time with Jeff and maybe do more trips out, our lifestyle has changed somewhat since we had such a scare, now we both feel every day is a bonus and blessing....so my friends any ideas will be gratefully recieved.....lol.......
love to one and all take care and keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
for my lovely Caz extra love and prayers <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Jean, like other big decisions in life your is worth sitting on for a while. Pack your stuff up by all means and have some days out, leave it a month or so but don't get rid of it (didn't you do that once before then have to start over?) You may find, after the end of the summer (such as it is) and with the onset of darker days, that you need something to do. If at the end of a couple of months you still feel the same, then get rid of it. or maybe stop making cards and do a couple od scrap book pages every so often using all the photos you have stashed away somewhere. Giving up completely sounds a very 'gut reaction' from you so maybe the family have suggested it in which case, only you can decide. Just want to be sure that you are sure.

Marie, lovly to hear from you but I am so sorry to hear about your SiL, I am sure that after the chemo she will recoer and feel better. Meanwhile I snd her my thoughts and prayers <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Wow Ann great minds and all that, I had posted on the scrapbook thread before looking on here and more or less decided to do just that....lol... its not the family saying anything its just how I feel at the moment, its mostly my age and my lifestyle, wish I was like you I loved walking but alas the legs wont do it for long, also the holidays have had to be reassesed since Jeffs hospital visit.... changes things, so we must compromise and do what he and I will be comfortable with....I really appreciate all the good advice you give me and will put it to good use...

Hello my little lovelies, how are we all today.

Marie, thank you for the E.mails, they have cheered me up no end.
I am sorry to hear about your S.I.L, but feel sure she will be fit and well again after her chemo.
No doubt she is feeling very sore at the moment, but with time she will start her recouperation and be back to her usual self. As Sylvia has done thank the lord.
How are the family and grandchildren doing now?
And I have to ask you, hows the garden and are the veggies growing now after the disaster earlier in the year.?

Jean, have a wee break from your crafting, but knowing how much you do enjoy it, and how good you are at it, as Ann has said, during the winter months you may end up feeling bored, and knowing how much cards cost now, will be tempted to resume doing it.

Oh good grief Lorraine, I bet it was painful the cyst bursting like that.
I had to laugh at you thinking that Roly was a bunny rabbit, more like Roland rat if you ask me. lol ;-) He has been called that so many times it's unreal.

Thank you all for thinking of Roly. Bless him, the medication now seems to be through his system, and he is feeling loads better.
I just cant believe that the pharmacy gave him three different generic tablets, instead of one brand for his postrate, in his last repeat prescription, no wonder it upset his system. There were three types in one box, all mixed and muddled.
We asked for it to be put on his history on the pharmacy computer, that he is unable to take certain brands.
But believe you me, next time he gets his meds, I will check all the tablets, before I leave the shop, and will refuse to leave till we get the correct one.
I can't be having him being so unwell, it makes it hard work for me playing nurse. lol

Caz, I hope you are being able to get some rest lovely lady.

Hello everyone,

I haven't been on here for quite a few days, as we've been busy decoratoing the landing, stairs and hall. Almost finished now, but I think we will need to get another roll of wallpaper.....so it will have taken 14 rolls.

Mo, so glad that S was able to get the bridesmaids dresses for the little ones. Hope that your granddaughter will like the dress and that she won't mind wearing it quite short.

Sorry to hear that Roly hasn't been very well, I hope that he's feeling a lot better now.

Jean, I can understand that you feel it would be good to get your conservatory back to how it use to be.....I feel the same about our dining room, where I make my cards. I did use the bedroom that Richard had when he was home, but after a while I felt really ' cut off ' up there, so moved back to the dining room. Trouble is it gets into such a mess.lol!!

Of course, Alun spends a good bit of time in what use to be the garage, working on his model railway layout, so in the evenings we sometimes don't see each other very much.lol!!

Caz , as aiways, I'm thinking about you and hoping that all will go well for you when you start chemo again. Keeping the chain of love going for you.

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Jeniwren, sorry to hear that you are also poorly, sending you love and positive thoughts.

Marie, lovely to see you on here again, and hope that you are well.

Very sorry to hear about your sister-in-law, I'm sure that once she has had chemo she will be fine. Also sending her lots of positive thoughts and love, too. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Lorraine, sorry to hear that your cyst ruptured on the way to the hospital, I hope that it is all sorted now and that you feel a lot better.

Enjoy yourself shore fishing with FD and her brother at Llandudno tomorrow. Take care all of you!

Ann, hope both you and T are alright. Have you managed to get white handbag for your grandson's wedding, yet

Jude, lovely to see you on here. I hope that both you, Vic and Madoc are all OK.
I'm wondering how you sister is getting on, I hope that she has decided to see her doctor and has been able to get the help that she needs.

Since a week last Friday my left hearing aid has broken, so I have an appointment with someone at our surgery at 4.30p.m., just hope that it can be repaired and won't have to wait to get a new one.

I had better go and prepare the dinner ready for this evening, so that I can start cooking it when we get home.

Speak to you all soon.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi Sallie, you will be pleased to get that decorating finished. I find doing hall stairs and landing seems to 'inconvenience' the whole house. Still I bet it all looks nice and freash. I am afraid we abandoned wallpapering a couple of years back, put up anaglypta and now just paint, much easier and quicker.

Sorry about your hearing aid I can appreciate how you miss it. I only ever used to wear one at first but now if one goes wrong I feel quite 'lop sided LOl!!! Do you have yours done at your GP surgery then? We have to go to the hearing department of the hospital. Although, usually it is quite easy to get an appointment. I have to walk to the hospital tomorrow as I am running out of batteries.

Yes I did get a small white shoulder bag, leather and believe it or not after looking in all the expensive shops, it was £6.99 on one of the indoor market permanent stalls (I think owned by Cotter shoes). So that is me sorted.

we have just done a small grocery shop, at daughters at the weekend so didn't need meat and veg for then. We had our Tesco vouchers today so doubled up a five pound one and got £10 worth of frozen food. well worth doing.

Sallie

Sallie Report 7 Aug 2012 12:38

Hi Ann,

Yes we shall be glad when the wallpapering is finished, we are getting too old for wallpapering now.lol!! We already had anaglypta on the landing, stairs and hall, but from the day we put it up I never liked it, so have put some different patterned anaglypta up instead of it and I must say I feel much happier with it.

So pleased that you managed to find a white bag and feel sure that it will look as good as the dearer bags at the wedding.

Yes I go to our GP's surgery for hearing tests and to sort out any problems that I might have with my hearing aids. I have a number to ring and they make an appointment for me at our GP's. I also have to ring the same number when I need more batteries and they send them to me within two days.

Mind you Ann, just over two years ago our GP practice had a new surgery built as there are twelve doctors there altogether, most of whom are partners. It's a two storey building with the doctors, nurses and counsellors rooms on the ground floor and they use the upstairs rooms for things like hearing tests, they also use part of the upstairs rooms for minor day surgery.

Hope you and T have a good weekend at your daughters, take care.

Love, Sallie.xx

Sallie, about 5 years ago our doctors surgery obtained planning permission to build a new doctors complex like yours. Due to various problems it still has not even been started. You are lucky. fortunately the hospital is quite convenient as we just go there by bus and from the hospital we can walk into town, it isn't far. It is ok as long as it is not raining. :-)

Oh my word Sallie, you are putting me to shame with all this decorating. Don't for goodness sake let Jean know that you have done it, or she will definately give me a dig in the ribs for not doing any this year.
Over the last couple of years we have done so much to the house, that I dont think it needs doing again just yet, or me paint brushes would be out at the ready.

Lorraine theres you hoping your son and his ex get back together again, and me wishing my grandaughter and her ex had not got back together.
She had to go for another scan yesterday, and he paid for two scan pictures, and grandaughter paid for the rest.
He didn't like the ones he had paid for, and kicked up a stink in the hospital, and pushed her in the corridors, making her nearly fall to the floor.
On the bus he started again, and was so loud the driver threatened to call the police and chuck him off the bus.
During his rant, he threatened to burn my daughters house down, with them all inside it.
My daughter phoned the police, and they are going to interview my grandaughter tonight.
But he is such a creep, he will probably turn up at her place of work and beg for forgiveness, and knowing my G.D she will take him back, silly girl.
As it is my daughter goes on holiday tomorrow, and is petrified he will carry out his threat.
She has arranged for G.D to stay at her dads whilst she is away, and Roly will be going to the house a few times a day to check it out.
Why is my life never straight forward thats what I want to know. lol

Sallie and Ann, talking of the hearing aids. Roly has got to go back to the hospital about his new one.
He keeps whistling, and it's driving him and myself crazy.
I can be watching the T.V and I hear a whisle, I automatically look outside, before I realise it's him again.
Coo it's driving me batty....well battier than I am already.

Hi Ann,
No Roly hasn't got a volume control, just a switch for three programmes, one for normal hearing, two for cuts background noise out, three is the T.Loop.
It's digital, and one thats really up to date, but such a noisy whistley thing.
He can get new batteries from our doctors practise though.
My grandaughters ex boyfriend is 22 going on 12, and he definately has anger problems, but doesn't think he has.
