Hello Girls,

Sorry I've been missing again, been making some more Christmas cards, that is the only thing that I have been able to concentrate for short periods of time lately.

Mo, really sorry to hear about the situation in your family,,,,,I hope that it will all soon be resolved. Pleased to hear that otherwise the wedding went well.

Jean, when do you and J go to Llandudno? Hope that as you say, we will get an Indian summer for at least the time you are away.

Please would you pass on my love and hugs to Caz. I hope that the results of the last tests will come back ok for her.

Thinking of Caz and sending her lots of positive thoughts. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Lorraine, pleased to hear that you are feeling a lot better and that you are able to do the volunteer work.
Well done to your daughter on getting a job.

Ann, hope things are alright with you and T. It can't be too long now before your grandson's wedding. Hope they get some of the Indian summer for it that Jean told us about.

Sylvia, hope all is well with you and your OH. Have you been up to the cabin lately. Sorry if I've missed any of your news, I will have to read back.

Jude, how are things with you, Vic and Madoc? Hope you are all OK.

Also hope your sister is feeling better than she's been lately.

Marie, hope all is well with you and your family. It won't be long to your summer now, I expect you are looking forward to it.

Huia, how are things with you and Phil? I hope that things are going along alright for you.

My brother-in-law the one that has had Alzheimer's since he was 58 in hospital at the moment, they are assessing him as he has become quite aggressive, so not sure what the next step will be for him. Bless him!

I haven't seen Linda about for a while, I hope that everything is alright with her and her family.

I spoke to Joyce last night, she was telling me about her friend's son, it's very sad.

I am going to make myself a cuppa now as I'm on my own for a few hours........Alun is out as he usually is on a Thursday night, so it's very quiet here.

Speak to you all soon.

Love and best wishes to everyone. Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo xxxx

and everyone
xxx

Beautiful sunny days again ........ it got up to 25C in the shade in my back garden again. But the nice thing is that it is cool overnight

I had to go to the Cardiology Unit at the university hospital yesterday (Wednesday) to have a 24 hr blood pressure monitor put on

Then had to go back this morning (Thursday), to have the monitor taken off ........

............. and had to create a little bit because the receptionist was what OH calls pan-faced. No change of expression, looks or pretends to look at a file, then tells you to sit over there and someone will see you.

Only she's not even taken your name down!

Helps when one of the doctors thinks you are her next patient, then adds a little comment when she realises you are not, and you say "I'm only here for this to be taken off, but we've been waiting a long time, and OH has an appointment soon so we are short of time"

Straight to the room where they take off the monitors :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Not much other news!

Sallie .......... we're hoping to get back up to the cabin for 1 day (which means a 3 day trip!) in the next couple of weeks. We have one little job to finish before the winter, and won't have time to go up after the first week of October ....................

............... OH is having a cataract removed on Oct 12, and won't be able to drive for a few days. Then he's going to China in early November, and anyway the cabin is not really accessible after the snow comes.

AnninGlos Report 9 Sep 2012 14:58

I am back but I don't seem to have been missed so that's ok %3A-D

We had a lovely sunny weekend in Bristol, our hotel (Doyles Bristol Hotel) is right by the harbour and it was lovely to walk around in the sunshine and watch all the youngsters sitting along the harbour wall chatting. All the outside tables were full of people enjoying a drink or a meal, all very continental. We went to see the Lion King, fantastic costumes and effects, on friday then spent Saturday walking around, up to the shops, to the Mall and Cabots Circus where the designer shops are, then back through the old lanes and the market. Back for 10 minutes rest at the hotel then walking out following the river Avon and looking at the boats. We found a memorial to all Merchant seamen who embarked from bristol, It is in the shape of three long wavy shaped seats with small brass plaques along the backs of the seats, each plaque with a name on. Some are dated early 19th century and there are some with several generations lost, 19th century, WW1, WW11.

Puss when in Bristol we looked at a craft fair that is held by the harbour every weekend. Somebody was selling bracelets, she was advertising that she could add the Mother/Father's mobile number to a child's bracelet. Helpful I suppose if the child gets lost.

Sallie pleased to see you on here.

Sylvia did you get the result of the monitoring?

Hello everyone,

It's very quiet on here, hope that you are all alright. Sorry I haven't been on for a few days, I'm afraid it's the usual problem but I've also managed to make Christmas cards. Card making seems to be the only thing I seem to be able to concentrate on for short periods at the moment.

Mo, really miss you on here, I hope that you are managing to to get things sorted out betwwen you and your family, especially your daughter. I am thinking about you.

Jean, thanks for the information about both Mo and Caz. I hope that thinks will get sorted for both of them.

I'm glad that you have managed to make all the Christmas cards you need to make. Have you decided yet if you are going to stop making any more cards?

I have managed to make forty Christmas cards over the last few weeks......at the moment I can only concentration to make them for short periods of time, I'm not sure that I will be able to keep that up though.lol!! Just hope things will get better.

Hope things are alright with both Jeff and Debra.

Ann, sorry I didn't realise that you and T had been away for a couple of days. Although I haven't posted on GR for a few days, I had noticed that you hadn't been on for a few days. I thought you were at your grandson's wedding.
I'm glad that you both enjoyed yourselves. It's a long while since we were in Bristol, the last time Alun and I went there was two years ago to my cousin's funeral. We use to go fairly often at one time with having family living there......never seem to have the time now, which is a shame.

Lorraine, sounds like a good idea, putting names like mum, sister etc., into the bracelets......I'm sure that quite a few people will buy them for Christmas pressies.

I hope you are feeling a lot better now and that all is well in your family.

Sylvia, thanks for the information about the cabin, it looks really lovely on the photograph. Let's hope that you will be able to sell it before too long.

Hope all goes well with OH's cataract operation on October. As you say he won't be able to drive for a few days, if you are like me, it's at times like these that wish I could drive too.lol!!

Huia, I haven't seen you on here for a while, I hope that you are alright.

Linda, I've been wondering where you were, I read your post on the Friendly thread, it sounds as though you have been really busy.

I'm sure that you are looking forward to having your cousin from Canada stay with you in October. It will be nice to have the family all together.

Marie, we haven't heard from you for a while, I hope everything is OK with you and your family.

Joyce, Jude and Liz, I know the three of you don't come on here often, so hope that you are all well. I hope I haven't missed anyone out.

Caz, sending you love and positive thoughts, hope that you are responding to the treatment and that you will soon feel a lot better.

<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi there everybody.

I have been keeping very busy, going out most days last week and my son came up at the weekend. I was in the shop yesterday afternoon and it was very busy as we have a half price sale on this week so I might go in again this afternoon.

One of the marketing women from the Hospice came into the shop yesterday to meet me and talk a little about my head shave. It wont be happening until late next month. They are setting up a new website, Angels for Hospice (will let you know later how to see it) for people who are fund-raising, and I will have my own page. All I need now is wings and a halo! The website was thought of before I made my offer, so it isnt because of me.

I also want to find time this week or next to visit Hamilton to see my gt grandson again. He could be walking soon.

Better get moving, lots to do.

Huia.

Sallie Report 12 Sep 2012 15:10

Hi everyone,

Mo, it's nice to see you post, even though your ' heart ' isn't in it at the moment. I understand and I know it isn't easy. Yes as you said, we are fine pair at the moment......if only ' the black dog ' would move out it would make things a little bit easier.

To me there always seems to be problems with families, when we get over one another one starts.lol!! Richard and Christie split up two weeks ago but Richard didn't tell us until Monday night. They would have been together four years at the end of October. So now I'm worrying about him, if he's upset or hurt about anything he doesn't show it and just trys to carry on as normal. I use to be the same when I was younger, but have had to change from doing that.

I hope that Lilly is a lot better and that the doctors now have at least some idea of what her problem was.

Jean, hope everything is going along ok with you and your family.

Sorry to hear that Caz still can't get on here, let's hope that they will soon be able to find out what the problem is. Would you please give her my love and best wishes when you next speak to her.

It's nice that P has been able to take her out a couple of times, I'm sure it must have helped to break up the days for Caz.

Huia, hope you are able to find some time soon so that you can visit your grt grandson.

Good luck with your head shave! I must have missed your post telling us about it as I didn't realise until now that you were doing it.

Hope things are going along alright with Phil and that sometimes he is still able to respond even a small bit, when you visit him.

Hello, to Sylvia, Ann, Lorraine, Joyce, Linda, Jude and Liz. Hope you are all OK. Sorry if I have missed anyone, my memory isn't as good as it use to be.lol!!

Speak to you all soon.

Take care.
