Jean, my son said anybody could do what they wanted with his photos, so I might email the best to you sometime. Not today though, I am going out as soon as I have stopped playing on here. And I will be out tomorrow morning and Wednesday afternoon. Probably Thursday too. I will try to fit in time to send them sometime though.

Off to read about Caz. :-(

Please Lord let our Caz be alright, she has been suffering so much recently.
Sending all my prayers to Caz. <3 <3 <3

Hello girls,

I haven't been able to get on here for three days, each time I got onto General Chat and clicked on a thread, the whole page ' froze ' and that was as far as I could get. I tried several times on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday with no luck, so gave it up as a bad job in the end. I got fed up trying, so didn't even try to get on here yesterday,
so I'm pleased that I have succeeded at last. yipeee!!

Mo, hope you and the family enjoyed your meal out. Sorry to hear that you and your darts partner lost the match on Thursday. Let's hope that you win the next one. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both.

By what I've been told from different people, that a lot of Health Authorities across the country have cut their Mental Health budgets and are closing and moving certain parts to other ares of the county.
It's a shame that your friend's young family won't be able to visit her as often, as you say she will feel more isolated than she feels already.

Jean, hope they can sort your aids out for you when you go. I have the NHS ones and have had no trouble with them until about five weeks ago, when the lady I seen decided that I needed new moulds.
Trouble was, the new moulds didn't fit properly so I had to go back last Thursday to have new ones taken, so will have them in about three weeks.

After spending a lot of money on the private hearing aids and couldn't wear them, I took Ann's advice and asked my doctor about the NHS aids and have found the aids fine up until now, so I hope that the new moulds will be okay.

Joyce, how are things with you and Jan? Did you go to your friend's hubby's funeral? Hope it all went off well.

Sorry to know that Caz has had a nasty fall. Please will you give her my love and best wishes when you next speak to her.

Ann, sorry like Mo, I didn't realise that you are having to use the cream again. I hope that it will sort the problem out for you and that you won't have any more trouble.

Huia, like Jean I don't go on FB, so won't be able to see the photos that your son has taken. It's a shame, as I'm sure that they are lovely.

Hello Joyce P. welcome to Mo and Jean's thread, It will be nice to speak to you again anytime you feel like popping in.

Joyce, it was nice just having your phone call, although I'm really sorry to hear that Caz has had another fall and that things don't look too good for her. Thanks for letting me know.

I'll ring you in the week. Take care of yourself.

Sylvia, Marie, Linda, Jude and Liz hope you are all well.

I'll speak to you all soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hi Mo
xx

and everyone
xx

well, it's definitely getting to be winter here ............... which means lots of rain for us down here at sea level, and lots of snow on the mountains on the other side of the harbour!

I had quite a surprise this morning when I turned on the radio at about 8:45 am this morning (ie, Sunday) .......................

there was a 7.7 earthquake off Haida Gwaii (used to be known as the Queen Charlotte Islands) off the northern coast of British Columbia, about 8 pm Saturday night

That's about 700 km north of Vancouver.

Some people living in high rises in Vancouver did feel the swaying.

Tsunami warnings were issued for the entire coast from Alaska south to California, and over to Hawaii.

Hawaii was still on a tsunami advisory today.

No major damage, no-one hurt or killed

There were several aftershocks on Sunday, including a 6.3

7.7 is a stronger quake than the one in 2010 in Haiti (that was a 7.0), or the 2 in Christchurch in 2011 (6.3 and 5.8) ..................

BUT it was a different type of 'quake ............ this one was a slip-and-slide not an up-and-under.

We were in a theatre with hundreds of others enjoying a performance of La Boheme ............. didn't feel a thing.

Tale care everyone

Thought you'd like to know about our day out today. Sorry if you have already read it on the Welsh thread.
We hadn’t thought we were going to make Westonbirt this year as the weather had not been very good since we got back from Tenerife. However the weather forecast for today was good so we charged the cameras and decided to go. It was part sun, part cloud and not too cold with no wind so looked good.
The drive across Selsey common was lovely with most of the trees now beginning to turn, the common itself was busy with people dog walking and it was all very autumnal.
We arrived at Westonbirt at 10.30 and were amazed at the number of cars already there. There were quite a few marshals and they were alternating different places to park. We were directed onto grass forming the front row of a fairly new parking spot but the entrance was already churned up from previous days. The car slipped a bit as we drove in but the traction control cut in and we were fine. Cars behind us had a problem and they soon changed the way cars had to drive in.
Our first stop, as usual, was to the restaurant for a coffee and a shared scone. Fortunately they weren’t too busy, there were a lot of stalls set up outside serving bacon rolls and coffee etc and it seemed to be only people who visit regularly who found their way to the restaurant.
We thought it was going to be difficult to take photos with so many people but were not too bothered as we’d been before and just wanted to see the colours, we had heard that they were spectacular this year, due to a combination of the weather, rain at the right time and a late burst of sun.
We followed the autumn colours trail, not wanting to walk too far as it was a bit muddy underfoot and slippery. We were not disappointed, the colours were wonderful ranging from lime green, through the yellows, pinks, oranges and reds with variations of each. A real feast for the eyes and we both got some spectacular photos.
There were a lot of mums there with toddlers, in large groups and the children were having a lovely time collecting leaves. One poor little mite, about two years old, was not so impressed when he slipped, running on the mud, and fell flat on his face, splat. But it was good to see them out enjoying the fresh air.
When we left at 12, the queues to get in were horrendous so we were pleased that we did go early. We drove back to Nailsworth and the garden centre and had a welcome bowl of cream of onion soup and fresh bread and butter. Then had a look round and bought a couple of gifts before driving home.
We drove home via Painswick and again the trees along the way were beautiful and the view out over the Severn Valley was lovely as well with the sun shining on the Malvern Hills and over to the Forest of Dean. That was a really lovely day out.

Cooeee my lovelies,
Ann, I was transported to a lovely day out reading your post.
It's been awful here again, so it was uplifting to read of your exploits.
We went to lots of different shoe shops looking for a pair of fur lined boots, for me.
My most comfy pair had given up the ghost on me. The fur lining had worn thin around the ankle, and the piece underneath had rubbed my ankle raw.
My favourites had been bought at Barratts many years ago, but they are now closed down. I am thinking of having a bonfire, and cremating them, aahh poor little boots.
I ended up in BHS, where I bought a pair very similar to ugg boots. Because the lining is so thick, I had to get a size larger, and all I am hoping now ia that when the lining settles, it doesn't make the boots to big for me. Still I suppose I will have to wear extra pairs of socks if that happens. lol ;-)

Sylvia, I wasn't aware of the things occurring over there. Good grief another type of earth quake.
No wonder you hadn't noticed it, I bet you were both well involved in Le Boheme.

All I had heard off was what was happening in the USA. And that has been such a disaster hasn't it. Is it true that you will be getting a battering from it as well ?
If so, batten down the hatches now, we dont want you blown away.

Jean, is there any news on Caz yet my love?

Take care my friends, love and hugs Mo xxx

Mo, there is no new update about Caz yet, Philip rings Dutch with any news,
I decided he will have enough problems without me ringing so dutch will let me/us know as soon as she hears any thing different other than that Caz is in a critical condition, she managed to give a little smile when her family came to see her..My prayer is that she has no pain. and is at peace, she has struggled with so much over the years, she deserves to rest quietly and with dignity,
doesnt stop the heartache though.....

Jean and Sallie, I have emailed 3 lots of my son's photos to you. I just hope your email addies have not changed since I last used them. Luckily for me my son had downsized the photos so they didnt take too long to load. There are still quite a few more to come though. I will do it tomorrow, I hope.

Huia, I have looked on FB, and I cant see the photo's. I can see the photo of baby, and have commented on it, but thats all I can see love. I know you have my E.Mail addy, but just cant understand why I cant see them on F.B.

Thank goodness the news on Caz is a little better than expected. I know she has a long way to go, but she is in my thoughts and prayers.
I hope that Philip is getting as much support and help from friends and family, it must be so hard for him, bless him.

Joyce, in answer to your p.m. Could we please wait a little while before doing what you request till recovery is further on for our dear friend.
At least that way our friend should be home, and able to enjoy what you asked. They are not allowed in hospitals anymore. It's to do with health and hygiene I believe.

Ann, I hope that Barratts open here again as well. You could always find what you wanted in their shops. Not everyone wants high wedge heeled shoes ,that are the fashion with youngsters these days. Many of us have been there, done that, and bought those shoes many moons ago. We go for comfort and fit nowadays, not height of heels or being fashionable. LOL
Your photo's were beautiful Ann.
You should see them girls, they are stunning, and the colours well, there is no describing them.

Take care girls, love Mo xxx
