I do not think that Ron meant any harm .............

.................. he was thinking of YOU, of saving you the hassle of emailing people, dealing with buying the flowers, and sending the donations. Then letting people know how much was collected and donated.

You yourself are not in the best of health, and suffer from your nerves.

You also get yourself in a tizzy over things.

He thought it would make life a little easier for you.

He was not being nasty in the same sense that others have been in the past.

Ron is NOT that kind of person ........ he's is a very kind man.

Please try to see it in that way.

I am sorry to hear about Caz, and the problems you have been having, Joyce.

I have been without the internet for 4 days but finally found out what the problem was when I was talking on the phone to one of the techsperts from my ISP. Somehow my username and password had been removed from the dial up sign in. I am blowed if I know how it happened :-S but it is sorted now :-D

I didn't tell you earlier .................

OH's sister had to go to the doctor last week because she felt a lump in her abdomen. By Friday, she had had scans, MRI and a colonoscopy

The surgeon did not think there was cancer there, that it was a bit of the small intestine folding into the large intestine, but he wanted it out.

She had to travel 400 km on Saturday by train to the nearest town that has a surgeon to do the operation. That's what happens when you live in the Far North!

She had the operation earlier today .......... OH phoned the hospital about an hour ago, and she was still in ICU, pretty groggy, but the nurse let him speak to her.

It is 90% certain that there is some cancer there :-( :-( :-( :-(

The question is, how much and has it spread?

They will determine that, then decide on the treatment.

OH has to go to China tomorrow (Tuesday). He'll be there for 12 days.

......... so I'll be the link between him and his sister (and / or her daughter who is the official NOK)

we're all a bit shaken ................ but pleased at how fast things happened!

Take care everyone

BTW .................... PLEASE, don't anyone put up a thread about this.

At least your sister in law was treated very fast Sylvia, I am impressed and hope things aren't as bad as feared or that any cancer has not spread and can be dealt with. Positive thoughts for your sister in law

Sylvia, please pass on my best wishes for a good recovery for your sister in law. My younger sister had bowel cancer.

SylviaInCanada Report 6 Nov 2012 06:32

Thanks Liz, and Huia

Huia ..........

........ bowel cancer is in their family

OH had it (2005), his father had it, and f-i-l's mother had it.

That is 3 generations!

sis-i-l has been under watch, and all our children have been told to start having tests when they reach the age of 40.

Huia

Huia Report 6 Nov 2012 07:58

Yes, Sylvia, I have had a couple of colonoscopies since my sister had it. All clear so far. :-)

Hi girls,

It's very quiet on here. Have you all gone on holiday? If you have, I hope it is somewhere warm and sunny.lol!! After having frost very early this morning it has been a wet, dark and miserable day here.

Sylvia, hope that they can help your sister-in-law if as they think she is likely to have cancer.

Hope your OH has a safe and good trip to China. Take care of yourself..

Huia, how are things going at the Charity Shop? Hope that the trade has started to improve now.

Hope that things are not too bad with Phil.

Jean, how are things with you, J and D? I hope you are all okay and also the rest of the family.

When is your grt grandchild due? I know you have told us, but my memory isn't as good as it use to be.lol!!

Ann, hope that you and T are okay. Have you finished making your Christmas? I expect you have by now as you are usually organised....not like me, last minute with most things.lol!!

Mo, how are things with both you and Roly? Hope things will be sorted out for you very soon.

Did you have a dart's match last night? If you did, hope you and your partner won this week.

Over the last few days we have had a problem with a mole under the patio. We have had three molehills of sand that it has managed to dig up between the slabs that we have down. I think all in we have well over a bucket of sand. We have lived in this house for nearly 22years and have never had any trouble before now.

Michael's grandad and dad were farmers, and they use to put poison down to get rid of them.....but Jennie and I don't like the thought of harming the one or two moles we have. Poor little things!

Joyce, haven't heard from you for a couple of days. Hope you are alright.

Marie, hope you and your family are all well.

Linda, if you are looking in, hope all is well with you and your family.

Jude, hope you and all your are also alright.

I hope I have't missed anyone out, sorry if I have.

Take care everyone.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

Hi all, Sallie I thought I was never going to get to the end of your post :-D :-D

I have enough Christmas cards made but can't seem to get out of the habit of making them so will have a good start on next year.

Very damp and cold here today with a light frost this morning. My feet are freezing at the moment and the heating is on too. I do so hate winter.
Not done a lot today. T did some tidying up in the garden for an hour, I have made a couple of cards and we went to Tesco, but that is it really.

We saw a scan in 3d of our little boy he was smiling and looks just like his daddy, amazing what can be done nowadays...he should be with us around end of Jan early Feb.......all seems to be going well......
how is your Jennie these days? D is doing o.k. and hinself has a very bad cold it doesnt seem to be shifting , but the moaning makes him feel better....lol....

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 6 Nov 2012 17:55

Jean did you not have to put oil in your ear for 2 weeks before having them syringed? Our surgery won't do it until you have done that. It softens the wax and stops it being impacted. Still not very pleasant to have done though. last time I got a shower as well as the water went everywhere but in the 'cup'.

JustJean

JustJean Report 6 Nov 2012 18:13

It was impacted because I thought using a cotton bud might loosen it but it didnt just pushed it farther down, so hands smacked ,wont do that again,
I had the oil in about a week so the nurse put lots of warm water in for quite a while until it softened , at one time i went completley deaf, but now You dont have to shout at me Ann, I can hear you loud and clear ;-) ;-)

Mo in Kent Report 6 Nov 2012 19:18

Shhhh girls, our Jean will hear us if we even whisper now, so dont talk about her when she is around, we dont want her to know our secrets. Especially the secret santa present she's going to get from "Shush you know who, the man in a red coat, and white beard".
Hi Jean, fancy using a cotton bud on your ears. Mind you, Roly is just as bad, he looks like he is digging for gold when he cleans his ears out. But I am always afraid the bud will come off the stick, and get stuck in his ear.
I dont really fancy taking him to the hospital, to get it removed.

Ann,I am glad I am not the only one with freezing feet. Even with nice fur lined slippers on, the cold seems to be penetrating through them.
I am sitting with my feet up on a pouffe at the moment, to try and keep them out of the draft from the air vent in the living room.

Sallie, things are fine here love. Unfortunately, we lost at darts last night.
Have you seen the moles that are doing the damage to your patio? Our son had holes dug up in his garden, and they thought it was moles, but it ended up being foxes.
The darned animal had jumped over the back garden fence, fortunately they didn't have any rubbish bags outside, but for some reason it was digging up areas of the lawn., leaving hilly mounds everywhere.
Since they have had the dog, the foxes have not been back.

Sylvia, how lucky your SIL was to be seen so quickly, god willing they have caught it soon enough for her to have a complete recovery. 400 km is a long way to have to travel for treatment though. Will she have to go home by train following her treatment. Bless her, thats a heck of a journey after going through what she will have done.

Hi there Huia and Liz, I haven't forgotten you both.

See you all later, love and hugs. Mo xxx

Ann the only cards I've made over the last couple of months are Christmas cards, I can't seem to get my head around making any others. I have quite a few birthday cards to make for the end of this month and for the first two weeks in December, so I will have to sort myself out.lol!!

Jean, glad to hear that D is doing ok and that J is fine apart from a cold. Alun has also had a nasty cold over the last week or two, but it is slowly going.
Jennie is also fine at the moment, thank you. We took her to see her Consultant last week as the last sample test showed that her Crohn's was still active as there was some inflamation, although Jennie hasn't had any symptoms for a couple of months. Anyway the Consultant decided that as she didn't have any symptoms that it would be best to leave the treatment for now, but if things change she has to ring the hospital straight away and she will have to start the treatment. So we hope that won't be for a long time.

I'll have to look on Ann's scrap thread, it's ages since I looked at it, I'm afraid.......the youtube craft sites sound really good.

Not too long now before the birth of your grtgrandson, I'm sure you are all looking forward to his arrival.

Mo, sorry to hear that you lost at darts last night, hope you'll have better luck next week.

It's nice to know that others also suffer from freezing feet, even with the heating on and the house being lovely and warm, my feet are usually freezing. Alun can't understand why they are so cold with the heating on biggest part of the time.

We haven't see the moles, but Jennie and Michael sat in the dining room window which looks out onto the patio and watched the sand being pushed up to the surface. It leaves us all wondering how he got under there, as the patio is a lot higher than the garden as is the neighbours patios either side of us.
I thought at first that maybe it was a fox but everyone said that it was most likely to be a mole.

Huia, like Jean I also hope that your bucket will be overflowing with money for the Hospice. Good luck anyway.

Well ladies I'll say goodnight to you all, speak to you soon.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Mo I never get nuts under my peggies, they are in the glass :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
I am a" sucker" for choc and nuts :-D

hope everyone is having a reasonable day in spite of it all.......

I had my assesment for renewal of blue badge yesterday, I had to go to another town, what it must cost to do all this, still if it means catching out the abusers of the scheme I dont mind, the lady says I should have no trouble renewing, maybe crawling on the floor helped ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D

Just making a birthday card for our littlie next door, she is two on friday and a star, she loves coming to see us, she was a great help when Jeff was recovering from his op last year it was uncanny how she seemed to know he wasnt well, wouldnt have anything to do with D and myself , she would come in and go straight to him and love him, now she hardly bothers....

well better go and finish it off, stopped for bacon butties made by my hero. so see you all later....
love Jean xx <3 <3
