Mo in Kent Report 12 Sep 2012 21:11

Hello girls, just popping in to let you know that I am still around.

Big hugs for your gt grandson Huia,I bet you will see a big difference in him.

I hope you are all well, and coping with the big change in our weather here in the U.K.
No doubt our Sylvia, Huia and Marie are all starting to get better weather now, lucky things.

No change here I'm afraid, still feeling like I have been hit with a sledge hammer. Most of the family are starting to meld together, but the eldest is still holding a big grudge, and it's very upsetting.

Take care everyone, love and hugs to you all. Mo xxx

Huia

Huia Report 13 Sep 2012 07:57

I picked up the other gt gran and we went to Hamilton. M is standing up, briefly, and sort of walking while holding on to things, but it shouldnt be long now. His grandmother walked at 11 months and his mother at 9 months. He is now 8 and a bit months old. I am a bit tired after my big day out. It takes about 90 mins to drive there. There was a bit of a frost this morning and a beautiful sunny day, although the clouds were starting to arrive this afternoon. Not sure what it will be like tomorrow.

Huia Report 15 Sep 2012 22:46

Where is everybody? It has been a couple of days since I posted. On Friday I visited Phil in the morning then returned to Papakura to have lunch and helped in the Hospice shop in the afternoon. Yesterday I just messed around at home. Today the photography club I joined at the beginning of the month is having an outing to the Botanic Gardens at Manurewa after lunch so I will be going too. I just hope it isnt too wet or windy. Yesterday was a shocker. It is drizzling here at present.

Sallie Report 17 Sep 2012 16:37

Hello to you all. Very quiet on here over the last few days, so hope you are all alright.

Huia, hope you enjoyed your outing to the Botanic Gardens at Manerewa, yesterday.

Mo, how are things with you? Hope it is all sorted out now. Thinkiing about you and Roly.

Jean, not sure if you and J are away in Llandudno this week. If you are, hope you enjoy yourselves and that the weather will be good for you.

My membership on here finishes on Saturday, so not sure whether to renew or not. I don't seem to come on GR very these days so wondering if it will be worth it.

Sallie, you can't leave, you will miss us surely? I consider it well worth the money for the friends I have on here and the support they give.
Weather here in this part of Dorset has not been too bad, the weekend was glorious and yesterday and today, although very windy, have been dry and bright with some sunny spells when it is quite warm.
Jean goes away this coming weekend. :-)

Dont go Sallie, we need you and your input love. Yep I know I am being a selfish little moo, but we have been friends for so many years now, and for selfish reasons I dont want you to go. SO PURLEEZE STAY, and post when you feel up to it.

Sooo our Jean, I am absent for a few days, and you go on holiday, now come on pray tell me, do I need to change me deodorant or what. lol
Oh I did miss you when you lapsed your membership that time, just knowing you were there was a god send love, and I am so grateful for your friendship, and help you have given me over the last few years.
You are always there for us all, allowing us to bend your ears when needed, so thank you my dear friend.

I agree with you Ann, this site is well worth the money, getting all the support from others at times when it's needed, and for what it costs it's good value. I find I can speak about my problems, knowing that I am not going to have to face anyone the next day, if I should so choose.
And yes at times, on other threads, it can become a bit volatile, but we are all very amiable on here, thank the lord.

Huia, did you take photo's at the botanic gardens? If you did, will I find them on F.B, if so I will have to check them out. I hope the rain held off for you to enjoy the gardens.
How was Phil when you visited him on friday love.
Have you been buying much at the hospice shop lately?

Nothing has changed here I'm afraid to say, but you know me, shrug it off and carry on as normal as possible. Paint a smile on my face, and grin like a cheshire cat at all who I meet, whilst covering the heartbreak inside. Hey ho thats life isn't it.

I hope that Caz is bearing up. Sending her.....
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Love and prayers, and great big hugs.

Mo I am sure that, given time all will be sorted with your family problems. I hope so anyway.

Huia Report 17 Sep 2012 23:41

Hello ladies, nice to see you are still alive and kicking. I was getting a bit worried and lonesome here.

Only 3 other people turned up from the photographic club. I was disappointed as I had hoped to get to know them all and see how they operate in the field. I did take some photos, but nothing special.

I was busy last week with our Hospice shop as we have a half price sale, so I went in most days to help. This is our last week in that shop and it is still half price but I am having a day off today. Not sure if I will go in tomorrow. If things get very busy the boss can ring me if I am not on the internet, but she can expect to wait 45 mins for me to arrive, as I would have to change out of my scruffy house clothes and lock up and drive in to town. I must hunt out some more plastic bags as we keep running out of the supermarket size ones, also larger ones as some people buy heaps of clothes.

Mo in Kent Report 18 Sep 2012 19:38

Hi everyone,
Huia, what date are you doing your head shaving next month? If I remember things correctly, you are having it done when the new shop opens.
Sorry we all deserted you for a few days, but it seems like we all have loads of things happening at the moment, either good or bad.
I reckon I could supply your shop with plenty of carrier bags lol.
Even though I do have my regular bags for shopping, the environmentally safe ones I might add. But whenever I go into the freezer shop, they pack my bags so quickly into their own bags, and I end up with loads that I take into our local charity shop.

Ann,how come you are on your IPad, and not your laptop or computer? I bet I have missed something and you and T are on holiday, it proves my head is up in the air doesn't it.

Oh boy, tomorrow is going to be interesting. Roly decided he wanted a new T.V today, and bought one that is wall mounted. Huh I think I shall take myself out for the day, rather than watch him trying to get it up on the wall.
I have got this awful habit of saying something is not straight when I think it's not. And before now, he has got the spirit level out, just to see if I am right or wrong, so rather than sit here criticising, it would be best if I am not here, except for when he needs help lifting it up, I cant have him doing himself an injury, or that would be even harder work. lol
Why he wants such a big T.V I shall never know. I know he's deaf, but I am wondering if his sight is bothering him as well, poor little soul ,bless his cotton socks.
I shall let you know tomorrow, if the air has turned blue, or any other colour. ;-)

I dont know what the weather has been like in other parts of the UK, but it's been lovely here in Kent today.
I got all the washing dried, and it's sitting there waiting for me to iron it, so I had better get me finger out and get it started.
Take care one and all.

Hi girls, just a quick post to say thank you to you all for the lovely card and for thinking about me.

Jean as usual, another really lovely card, thank you.

I thought you said that you and J were going to Llandudno this coming Saturday. Enjoy your holiday and let's hope the weather will be good for you. Take care.

Mo, hope that the problem will get better for you both pretty soon. I really feel sad for both you and Roly and just wish that your daughter will see sense before too long.

Ann, hope that you and T are having a good holiday in Dorset and are having some good weather.

Huia, you really are a very busy lady these days. It's a shame about there not being many club members at the Botanic Gardens. I'm sure you were looking forward to meeting some new people so that you could have a chat about your same interests.

Caz, still thinking about you and sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Mo we are in Dorset then going to Grandsons wedding on Saturday.
Thanks Sallie's, yes having a nice break.
Jean, what a lovely idea on our behalf, thank you, and glad that Sallie's liked the card and verse.
Huia, such a busy prison, don't let them take advantage of your good nature in the shop. :-) :-)

Huia

Huia Report 18 Sep 2012 22:34

Ann, are you saying the shop is a prison? I have to laugh at some of the typos I see on GR.

Mo, no date has been set yet for the head shave (I gather it will just be a very short cut though). The marketing manager has been away on holiday and comes back today, so then I hope I can get stuck in to get sponsors. The hospice is setting up a website for fundraisers and I will have my own page. I also want them to make some signs for me to put up in at least 2 shops that have offered. It looks as if my bald head will not happen until late October or early November, but at least it will be warmer then. The Papakura shop is closing this Friday and we are having a party there on Saturday and moving all the stock and fittings the following week.

I am going to drop off some more plastic bags in the shop today and probably visit Phil after lunch in town, then see if any more help is needed in the shop. With the half price sale we have been quite busy at times.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 19 Sep 2012 10:19

Sorry Huia as you guessed that should read person. Adding on the IPad it is via a touch pad keyboard, easy to make typos.

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 19 Sep 2012 19:53

Oh my goodness Ann, fancy making that typo mistake, making it look like Huia was in prison lol. What we gonna do with you ;-)
I hope the weather holds for the wedding, and that you all have a wonderful day.

Huia, I would like to sponsor you for the hair shaving, and will get a cheque in the post in the next few days. Who do I make it payable to love, I will wait to hear from you before sending it off I think.
Will you get a few days break before the new shop opens?

Hi Sallie, good to see you posting love. Hows you and the family getting on?
I hope you have reconsidered about leaving us. I meant what I said,I would miss you terribly if you went. xxx

Jean my lickle love, many many thanks for sending the card to Sallie on our behalf.
Have you done your packing yet? Dont forget your wellies and brolly will you.
I feel sure you will both enjoy yourselves regardless of the weather. It's the break away from the normal routine that makes it isn't it honey.

Well, the humungous T.V is now in place. This morning Roly sat for ages, staring at the set, pondering on how to begin the task.
Clever me had an idea, yes our son had a day off today, and after a quick phone call, he was at our door, before Roly could get back from B+@'s.
J has got a widescreen T.V at home and knew how to mount it on the wall, and hey presto, it was done in a jiffy, leaving poor Roly bewildered as to how he had done it so quickly. lol
Then of course the room had to be re-arranged.....oooh next time he has big ideas like this, I think I will tie him to a chair so he cant get out of the door. ;-) I am exhausted after being mrs shifter all afternoon.

I will say cheerio for now girls, take care. Love Mo xxx

The only problem is trying to learn what each button represents lol

Please let me know Huia xxx
