Coooeee everyone, yes it's me, back to pester the life out of you. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Sorry to have been absent for so long,it's taken me ages to read the posts, and now I cant even remember whats been said.LOL :-(

Well done to our Huia, isn't she a brave lady girls. And it's all for such a good cause.
I hope you have raised loadsa money Huia my love.

Heres hoping you are all well, and getting yourselves in the mood for the festive season.
We are all behind this year, with present buying. But then a lot of our grandchildren are getting past the stage of excitement of christmas morning now. They prefer to lie in bed, after a good night out on christmas eve with their friends.
Fortunately there are now only 8 left to buy presents for now, as the older ones are out working.
I haven't even bought any sweets or chocolates yet, and that is unusual for me.

Well girls, I must go and do some dinner now, as I am starving.
Take care everyone, love and hugs Mo xxx

Hi everyone, not been on GR for about a week, I've had a few days where things have been a struggle, but feel better again now, thank goodness. I've also been trying to get Christmas presents and cards organised.....still got a few pressies left to buy, difficult to know what to buy for some friends and family members. Most of the younger ones I am giving to, with just a small gift to go with it.
Still got quite a few special Christmas cards and also a few birthday cards to make.

I've also had an early Christmas present off Alun, I had been talking about having a Grand Calibre for ages but never got round to getting one....which is pretty normal for me.lolol!!....so Alun had had enough of listening and decided to get me one for Christmas. It's great and I'm really pleased with it. Now have to start buying more of the Spellbinders grand dies, which are cheaper on some craft sites than others.

Mo, hope you are alright and that you will soon be able to get round to getting all the things you usually buy for Christmas.

Huia, well done! You are very brave lady to have your hair shaved, even for a good cause.

Marie, it looks as though you have been very busy in the garden. Like you in Oz we have also had a lot of rain here over our summer months. Great for the resevoirs, but too much for the gardens. Even here in SE Derbyshire, we have had a lot more rain this year than we normally do.
Hope your SiL's chemo will do what it's supposed to do and that she will make a very good recovery.

Sylvia, also hope that all is going OK for your SiL too, and that she makes a complete recovery.

Hope all is going well in China for your OH.

Ann and Jean, you both seem to be very busy with your card making.

Hope that both you and your families are alright.

Well I must go and make a couple of cards now, so will speak to you all again soon

Take care.

Love and best wishes. Sallie.xxx

hi Mo
xx

and everyone
xxx

Had a lovely chat on the phone with my daughter ............ first thing she said was "your grandson wants to talk to you"!

He's gradually getting better at talking clearly. He said very clearly "Hi Grandma", and then went off onto some tale, which I wasn't sure about!

But after I'd said goodbye to him (which actually is "give Mummy a big kiss"), I heard him running away shouting "Daddy I talked to Grandma" ............ very clearly!

OH walked in the house while I was still on the phone to daughter ........ so she had a little chat to him.

He had a good trip back ..... apart from a little so-and-so sitting in the window seat (OH prefers the aisle seat), who kicked OH twice as he went past into the aisle. OH kicked him back on the second one :-D :-D

Kid did not repeat the action!

We used to call such children OPKs ...... for Other People's Kids

He has to be up early tomorrow morning (Monday) ...... he has to go to the eye surgeon for a check-up on the eye that had the cataract removed.

Then we're going to do some grocery shopping and possibly try to get the last presents bought ............ ours!!

It's now only 3 weeks before we leave on the train for our daughter's for Christmas. So the pressure is on to get the Christmas letter written, copied, and posted!

OH phoned his sister ....... she is going to talk to a doctor at the Cancer Centre in the hospital in her home town on Thursday. They will discuss treatment(s) etc ............ and the hope is that she will be able to have it all done there, and not have to come down here.

take care

Hi girls,

Huia, yes thank you I got the photos you emailed to me, they were great. I certainly admire you for having it done....it takes courage.

I wonder if Phil will realise that you have had your shaved off, bless him.

Spoke to my sister-in-law last night, she told us that her hubby has deteriorated a lot over the last two months, he was 67 last month. Not looking forward to seeing him when we go there next week.

Sylvia, oh you must have felt so proud when your grandson spoke to you. I'm sure you and OH are looking forward to spending Christmas with him and his mum and dad.

Glad to know that OH had a good trip to China and that he's arrived home safely.

Hello to everyone else, hope you are all OK.

Love, Sallie.xxx

Hello girls,
Oooh it's so lovely to catch up with all your news.

Sallie, I gather a Grand Calibre is something you use for your card making. It does sound very grand I must say.
What does it do love. ? And I take it that Spellbinders are used for the same card making, and not for the use of novice witches.
It' so sad that your brother in law is deteriorating so quickly. And as Huia can no doubt agree, such hard work for the spouse caring for them.
Are you both staying at home for christmas?

Sylvia, isn't it lovely when the little ones start to chat to you. You will both notice such a big difference when you see him. Not only that he has grown, but no longer a baby just a miniature adult in the making.
I dare say you are both looking forwards to seeing the family again, even though a certain person may make it difficult for you with his actions.
How did your OH get on at his follow up appointment for his eye.? I bet he felt like kicking the OPK's in the shins on his flight home. But it's pleasing to hear it went well for him other than that.

Well, since I last spoke to you, things have progressed in our house. Roly has changed his mind about having the family here christmas day evening. All will be welcome with open arms, and if they should decide not to come, then that is down to them.
We will have dinner at home alone, rather than it all being left up to me.
I have bought, and wrapped as many presents as I intend to buy this year. All the cards to be sent to OZ and NZ are written, and I must get them sent off tomorrow.
Does anyone know the last posting dates please. I know Ann will know, as she told me last year. Thank goodness we have got Ann, she is our font off knowledge where things like this are concerned. Bless you Ann, I would be lost without you.

Now where has our leader got to. Jeannnnnn where are you my love.

Huia, did you send me the picks of your head shaving experience? I do hope the weather has been kind to your cold pate mate. And that the sun doesn't burn your bonce to a crisp should it get to hot. LOL ;-)

Sending my love to Marie .xxx

Time to go now, chicken and chips for dinner tonight, any takers.
Love and hugs to all. Mo xxx

Oh Mo, I was just about to send you a pm when I noticed that you had posted. I was getting worried about you, as it's not like you not to post.
Anyway, I'm glad to see that you are back with us all. It's a good idea you and Roly having Christmas lunch on your own and then inviting the family for the evening if they want to join you both.

We will be at home with Jennie and Michael joining us for lunch and then we usually go to Michael's mum and dad's Christmas night.
Although, not too sure whether or not Richard and Christie will be joining us this Christmas, he's hoping that he can have some extra time off year.....we'll have to wait and see.

Mo, the Grand Calibre is a die cutting and embossing machine, which takes A4 paper and card so that I can use the bigger dies and embossing folders. You quessed right.lol!! Spellbinders is a make of dies, etc...although sometimes I wish I had the other kind you thought it might be.lolol!!

Well I had better start organising our dinner or there will be no meal to eat tonight.

Hope you and your partner will win at darts tonight if you have a match. Good luck.

Speak to you soon and take care.

Love, Sallie.xxx

I used to have the Spellbinder die cutting machine but it was much too hard for me to use. I gave it to daughter, don't think she has ever used it either.

Aaah bless you Ann, thank you very much for the posting dates. I am such a dozy mare at times, and I don't go into the post office very often.
To be truthful, the only times I do go there, is to post my christmas mail, so thank you my love.
Will you be at home for christmas Ann?

Hi Sallie, thank you for your concern. It had got to the point of my saying to myself, do not wallow in self pity, and decided I must come back and speak to my cyber friends, you all cheer me up no ends.
Thank you for enlightnening me re the Grand Calibre etc, it all sounded so complicated to me.
It will be nice for you, having Jennie and Michael with you for dinner on christmas day.
Like Richard, my son will be back at work on boxing day. It's silly really, his shop close down the week before christmas, but open on boxing day, then have no break for two weeks.
As it is, his showroom has been closed for the last two weeks for a refit, so he has been working in our local branch. It's a pity he could not get a transfer to this area, rather than having to travel 45 minutes each way, every day. But, a job is a job, and both our sons have had the same problems with work haven't they.

Well, it's bath time now girls, so watch out for your drains in your areas, when I pull the plug out. LOL
Speak to you tomorrow. Love Mo xxx

AnninGlos Report 19 Nov 2012 18:53

You don't mean there is a danger of you slithering down the plug hole do you Mo?

And of course we cheer you up, this is the place to come when you are down.
We are going to our daughters for Christmas, that way I get my meals cooked for me :-D last year we were home on our own and enjoyed it.

Glad to be of service with the dates. Available on line. :-D

Mo in Kent Report 19 Nov 2012 19:00

I never thought to look on line Ann. See I told you I am a dozy mare.
Oh, and no chance of me slithering down the plug hole, I would get stuck in the first trap down the pipe. It's the dead skin you have to watch out for, people have thought I was a snake shedding my skin before now, and it do block the plug hole up. YUK !!! What the eck am I talking about, I'm as fresh as a daisy really. well I am by the time I get out of the bath anyway. LOL

Well thats the cards for abroad posted off. I couldn't believe it, £1.28 to send each card, cor lummy, I didn't even pay that for a whole pack of cards. My friends and family abroad mean so much to me, that I cant not send them cards.
But believe me, as many cards as I can hand deliver I will. The excercise is good for me, so they say. LOL

I hope you are all well. Love and hugs to you all, Mo xxx
