Such wonderful news to wake up to! Thinking about them and their families as they attend the funeral today, such a difficult time for everyone I think. The pictures seem to be working OK today - I can see all of them :) Nice to see you SusyQ :) GUESS WHAT! Hubby did surprise me! When I got home yesterday there was my birthday/mother's day present in the entrance - an antique hall stand. Looks lovely - I admired it on Saturday but I never thought he would make a special trip back just to get it :) very frosty and cold here this morning but should be a sunny day. Catch you later. remembering little Sophie, ~~~~~~~ Vonny

Oh what a lovely surprise for you, Vonny, but hey, I still can't seem to see all the photos. I can see some, but not others! Any suggestions? Lew Lew xxx

Morning Wattlers, Great news about the miners :-))), must be a huge relief to their families and the whole community. But also a sad day, and one of very mixed emotions for the family of the man who died. Day off the tractor today, now it is too wet, lol, i have to go and do paid labour this afternoon. I often tell OH that i work off farm to support the b****y farm and call it his very expensive hobby. 80 acres in and 580 to go, oh well he loves it, and i actually enjoy it most of the time myself. I had a sad day yesterday, our cat of 16 years was hit by a car out the front of our house. the car that hit him didn't even stop, and a lady in the car following stopped and moved him off the road. Seems very inhumane to not even stop when they had to have known that they had hit something. OK i am off to check the soup and get ready for work. Take care all Wilson

((((hugs)))) for you Wilson on the loss of your cat. Having just lost my 18 yo one in the same way, I know exactly how you are feeling. It's like losing a family member. I suppose your cat is up there with my Chester discussing us and complaining to each other about our genealogy obsessions cutting into their lap time, lol. Lew lew xxx

Mornin' all, I rolled over to listen to the 6 am news and heard about the miners – good news at last ! Big lump in throat just now thinking about the funeral for Larry this afternoon, it will be such an emotional affair, just hope the media have some respect. So sorry about Lew's and Wilson’s respective cats, ours is only 8 but we wouldn’t be without her so I hope she stays away from nasty cars. Not quite so cold here today, but I’ve “put me spencer on” lol. Catch you all later, Heather

Morning everyone, what a great place we live in. My dad always said real aussies are pig headed b*****ds and just as well ....what a great result for the miners and their families. I heard the news that they were free at 5 to 5 when the alarm went off and turned the tv on straight away, so I sat in bed watching til 8, what an emotional time. Now we need Sophie to recover. Didn't get very far sorting out the study yesterday,OH worked late and couldn't be bothered sorting when he got home....aw well there's always the weekend. Wilson sorry to hear about your cat, why cant people do the decent thing and stop when there is an accident. Back to work....chat later Jude2 (or flakey)...lol

Heading off to my Genealogy group so will catch everyone later. I trust the media will give the families the privacy they deserve this afternoon. So sorry about your cat Wilson. We only have guinea pigs now but lost one of them at the end of last year (aged 3) and it was a tragedy. Photo pages seem to be back - put photos of the piggies on there! Love your photo in the snow Laurie. Anna

Good morning all, I too was glued to the telly with the tissue box this morning - how amazing was that !!!! I also had reason to reacess my opinion of the media role - the scene when Koshie climbed into the ambulance and the obvious joy by the rescued miner (Todd I think it was) at seeing him - the giving of the name tag - the request for a hug from Mel. Then you hear that although they hadn't mentioned it on air they had been exchangeing messages with the guys down there via the rescue team, and had been requested to meet them at the gate - the fact that they had been dinning with the families (apparently Mels whole family dined at one of the families homes) Obviously the support they gave assisted the trapped miners and their families and we should be grateful for that. Now comes the hard part - adapting! The mind boggles as to what they will go through and my prayers are with them to keep it all together. Lew, your invited to join us for lunch at Colleens, we should be in town around 10am, Lauries famous chicken, leek & mushroom pie with salad in on the menu! So see you there around 12 or whenever you can get away. Luckily Ray is having mild weather in Vergas, and yes, he has been to Victoria's Secret for me and done his shopping good lad! It was so hot when we were there this time last year, I remember the margaritas well all the crushed ice! I did a big walk this morning - all the way up to Dolls Point, although cooler, it was nice in the sun - with no breeze. Its a very clear day, with no sign of any cloud, but since I returned the breeze has crept onto the scene and it is a little chillier. The docks are busy, only one giraffe with its head up, just a few dots of fishing boats out near the heads, and no tankers at Kernell at the moment. Sorry to hear what happened to your cat Wilson, tragic person whoever it was that did the hit and run! Von, thats what I got for my mothers day last year, my hallstand, mind you its crammed up in the apartment - but its still lovely. Lunch time, so will catch you all later cheers luv Laurie

Afternoon all Well the local radio station had a minutes silence as respect for Larry Knight to coincide with the start of the funeral. I also hope the media give the relatives and friends plenty of space at this time, all their stories on this event have already been got, or should have. Both Todd and Brant will be attending the service as they have checked out of hospital. I am going to stand out the front of my place to watch them go past, leading the presession will be Larry's Harley then all the bikies will lead the hearse. The council have appealed to all shoppers to the city to not park in a multi storey car park near the church so as their will be plenty of parking for the people attending the funeral. Wonder if they will charge them?? Hope not. Cheers Sue

Oh Wilson, how sad ((((HUGS)))). Weather has turned nasty this afternoon so I'm glad to be inside with the fire. Hall stand is still looking very nice :) Of all the jurno's I actually like the Sunrise peeps best - they seem very genuine as well as professional. Not that I'm often up early enough to watch them - especially in Winter! catch you later, ~~~~~~~~~Vonny
